Items belonging to convicted gangster Whitey Bulger are selling for thousands of dollars during an auction that got underway on Saturday morning. WBZ-TV's Katie Brace reports.

He had maoney tucked away in numerous offshore and swedish accounts according to what I've read. Kevin Weeks wrote a book about his life with Bulger and it's pretty good. It's on Scribd if you are interested.

This is bizarre. To donate the proceeds to the his victims families is to condemn Bulger as a henious criminal, yet to flog his tat for such hyperinflated prices is to somehow romanticize him as some kind of celebrity outlaw. What a strange condradictory thing to do.

The feds aren't gonna give the families any of the cash they seized, (like the hundreds of thousands in hidden in his walls or the bank accounts) but, they're willing to give them some scraps from the auction of personal items. I'm not surprised.
