Popping on decel, hesitation and easy stalling just off idle just getting moving is probably too lean on the slow jet/pilot jet. Slide needle diameter controls mixture in lower part throttle once you get moving (transition off of the pilot circuit), needle clip position controls primarily mixture at higher part throttle but also affects balance of mixture between lower and higher part throttle (so drastic changes in needle position may require a change in needle size to recalibrate the lower throttle mixture...my CR specials have 7 clip positions), needle taper change if available affects primarily mixture balance between lower and higher part throttle without changing the low throttle mixture, and the main jet somewhat affects high part throttle but progressively mostly full throttle. Riding on cold versus warm days will help you feel what parts need changing, as areas of the throttle range too rich will improve when it gets colder out and areas that are too lean will improve when it gets warmer out. In a perfect world, you create a consistent calibration that gets lean or rich equally with weather changes and then just have a set of winter jets/needles/settings and summer jets/needles/settings if you ride all seasons. It can be tricky to read plugs, because if your calibration spans both rich and lean, the different operating realms can clean or soot up the plugs and your readings will only reflect what was most recently run, so a rich top end followed by a bunch of lean cruise on your way home to check plugs in the garage will probably show lean. Best way to read the main jet is to find a deserted stretch to rip a good full throttle pull and then kill the engine right away and read the plugs right on the spot. Then just repeat for the tip, mid, and base of the slide needle. It's probably easier with a direct controlled slide versus CV carbs, but that's the general idea.

Yes it's exactly that, carb needs to be re jetted to suit any additional airflow (3x3 or exhaust) drz is jetted lean from factory to meet emission standards, now that the engine is getting more air it will need more fuel otherwise it won't be as powerful, don't think of the mods as a power upgrade in them selves, they are a way to get more fuel and air into the motor, without the extra fuel of rejetting you are only getting half the benefit from the exhaust and 3x3. The popping on decel is a good indicator that it's not getting enough fuel. If it's too lean you may damage your engine
Please do 'not' cut a hole in the airbox. It will not help the bike breathe better in the slightest. The engine will still draw in the same amount of air that it is able to now. The only way to get more air into the engine is forced induction. The air in the airbox is still at atmospheric pressure whether you cut a hole in it, remove it entirely, or not. One variable at a time? Breathing, drinking, and spitting all go together. Do the 3x3 and reset if necessary. Now that you’ve seen what a bitch it is to get to jets have fun. Making the hole 3x3 let’s the engine breath better, has nothing to do with where it comes from...the snorkel restricts what she wants. A carb has a float bowl, which holds a bit of gas to feed the suction at the jets, yes, they don’t want you to catch on fire. The rattling is a float that meters the gas coming into carb. As you know well know. Ran great cold and pops when warm b/c it is rich. So, don’t touch jets! Add air by doing 3x3 and re-test. The added breathing may match the current;y too rich mixture and be in the ball park. You WILL want to repeat on your bike, but do all at once.
"i hear something rattling in the carb" hahahhaha, ever heard of a float ? also jetting is not just trying one jet, if you are trying to jet it right, you need to try multiple jets, the drz is popping because its too rich, if you go too rich you are throwing away power.

Those dyno jet kits are shit. You should have just used real mikuni jets. Mikuni jets are in increments of 2.5 numerically. Buy the next 2 larger sizes. With a slip on you should only need the next size up but you have one size larger if you change things on the air box and you'll be out $10 for both jets. Never use off brand jets

Spite I really like your content on the channel, incredibly informative and useful information. But man you might want to drink some of pappa yams coffee, I watch on 1.25x speed because you talk very slowly lol. No offense, I really do like the content man.
skylar myers hahaha same i put it on 1.5 and he talks like papa yams now😂
Hi ya mad bastard, how goes it mate 🙋♂️🇬🇧👊
Buy a jis screwdriver
Brah.. you and FortNine need to colab
I love Ryan f9
There is no reason, none, to not do it unless you specifically plan to cross deep rivers/streams. Yank the snorkel at least, ride again.
Just buy a damn JIS screwdriver ya goober
I want this bike bad
Tammy trying to get sponsored by invisiline with those thumbnails
It is so much better without that loud “music”
Hey does anyone know the song he used a few videos ago the “hayabusa, dank noonner, hayabusa hayabusa hayabusa” song
Yam literally wrote it lol. Pretty sure he posted the song in his discord a few weeks ago.
Savannah Brady I’m not in his discord
Dude! Get yo ass some JIS screwdrivers.
I could do without the music
This video could've been 3 minutes long.
Dude, if you're going to replace the original screws, get those with Torx head. Nobody uses Philips anymore. That was back in the 1990ies. Other than that: Nice video, Thank you for showing us your mod-attempts.
Que a billion armchair non-buyers wining about fuel injection.....
Lmao imagine not being a 16 year old with a motorcycle silence
Silence

@@mvalentin4176 That don't count 😤
I have all these mods on my drz and it still wont wheelie. Jet kit 3x3 mod full yoshi pipe. Nothing
Need to get that rider mod. I was able to power wheelie my brothers stock drz with just a liftoff and cracking the throttle in 1st gear.
Just crank it in first , my drzsm is stock and lifts easy in first.
@@deathwish8339 Yea it cracks me up 2, I have a crf250l that is all modded up and I get guys commenting on my wheelie vids saying they did this and that with crazy low gearing and no matter what the bike stilli wont come up! Even bone stock this little pigglet under powered and geared too tall will ride a wheelie as long as you can clutch it up and know how to ride one first! will go miles bone stock no problemo! Now a DRZ400 that wont come up something aint right there lol.
My drz400 will power up in 2nd gear and it's stock.
stiffen up the suspension maybe. Bought mine and the previous owner had the back very soft and it was hard to get the front end up.
Third
Ew
Carbed bikes are so 1990....
Unless its a dirtbike... but this bike is NEITHER
fuel injection is boring, there's more fun in calibrating carbs than plugging in a powercommander
@@franciscoanaya9580
Most people these days arent smart enough to jet a carb.
Most with tunners dont know what the hell they are doing with.
Why hate carb types lol
Really?
Because fuel injection....
Thats why
@@franciscoanaya9580 until it gets cold outside and u carb boys need 2 hours to get ur bike running and im already 100 clicks out
Craftsman work they are chinese any way 😅😅😅
NOBODY WAS WONDERING WHY YOU WERE WEARING A JACKET
The "whitest" thing EVER said by a self-proclaimed "hooligan" biker is *"LETS LOWER THE PROPERTY VALUE AROUND HERE" 😂😂😂 I LOVE THAT!
