As a parent and also a childcare worker trust me its hard to have your eyes on the kids every minute! Kids move fast! Thankfully it was just juice and he didn't fall and get hurt! Not trying to downplay the situation but things happen. He will be ok! Just suggest to the worker that they should put all cups or bottles out of the kids reach.

I agree with everything you said. They have every right to be upset , but sometimes little feet and hand move fast and little ones love to share with one another. Make sure you calmly voice your concerns and stress how this should never happen again.

You guys should either call or write the CEO, about what you guys observed when you came back from playing basketball and the kids were unattended. You might even request a meeting with staff. Let them know that your son was drinking out of a strange cup. Let them know that if any health issues develop from it, you guys may seek legal advice. I'd let them know right away. And show them this video! You have proof of your findings. Don't let it go. These days are too dangerous. They could've been kidnapped. So much could've went wrong. I'm glad it wasn't worse.
My god, this is taken way too far. These are ppls lives,& jobs. Yes they can sue but to demand a meeting just because your child drank out of some cup? It's ridiculous. Kidnapped? They were probably inside somewhere not out in the open. Regardless I somewhat agree but to an extent.

I really don't think that this is something minor that should be swept under the rug. Recently, there was newstory about a woman who is fighting for her life. The video wss released last week. This woman was in a restaurant refilling her cup of tea. She took a sip and immediately began gagging. She had to be rushed to the hospital. An employee remembers finding some caustic ingredient in a bowl. She thought it was sugar but felt strange. Why would a bowl of sugar be in this particular location, and not in the kitchen. She pointed it out to the shift manager who looked at, smelled it, and determined that it wasn't sugar. She also wondered why was in out of place. Some time later, the employee was watching TV snd heard about the woman who had gotton sick from a refill of tea. She wondered aloud if someone had gotten ahold of that caustic grainy stuff that looked like sugar. Why hadn't they disposed of that stuff weeks ago why she reported it. Right now, some lady is fighting for her life and she did nothing wrong. This would be an excellent moment. They should have in a policy about can or cannot be into the common area where people are only allowed to checkin. No food or drink are allowed. You have to be proactive. Just suppose somehow had accidentally left a cup of a cleaner. Children are always putting things to their mouths especially if they're thirsty. I'd call a meeting ASAP while there's time to make changes in the workplace. Next time, someone else's child may not be so fortunate!

I meant to say, this could be a teachable, not to blame, but to have a discussion about policies that will have to be enforced. Children need to be watched. No one is to leave the room without someone replacing her. Children are curious. In their homes, maybe they are allowed to get a cup from the edge of the table because there will always be soda or juice left in the cup by a family member. It's better to have a policy for everyone to follow because no one wants to be sued.

One of two things happened:either staff was present and wasn't properly supervising, or J3, a one year old, randomly wandered off, picked up a cup with unknown substance and drank from the cup. At this point, J3 was unattended or wandered off. If J3 is thirsty, he's going to find something to drink. This kid is used to being given something to drink when thirsty. What is expected of the gym regarding snacks and drinks anyway? Has this even been discussed with club members?

In regards to leaving your babies at the nursery or daycare, for me to do that it would have to be a last resort emergency situation. Especially with a girl. I trust nobody and would only leave my baby girl with family. I've heard/seen some horrible things happen and it's not like she can come and tell me what happened at 7 months. Even innocent things like drinking out of a foreign cup. I would lose it and pull a Dee and get someone fired lol. I also hate the idea of children of different ages to be mixed. 4 year old boys should not be left to play with or next to little baby girls. Really makes me upset to hear about the incompetence at your gym.

i worked in a daycare before and we would write the names of the kids on a label and put it on their cup BUT also you cant forget that kids dont care, they will pick up random cups and drink from them. This is why kids are more likely to spread germs than us adults. i think you should file a complaint just in case jerry gets sick but it seemed to be an honest mistake. the care worker could've thought the cup belonged to jerry.

As a ChildCare worker, things like this can & will happen. On the other hand, things like that RARELY happens. Well, atleast in my center. For one, my kids are never left unsupervised. Even though some says it's hard to keep up with every child. This is why the child:staff ratio is 3:1. The only time a child would be drinking from another cup that was not provided by parent is if the parent did not send the child with a cup, so we provided the child with the center'a cup, or if the child's cup is already filled with a different liquid. Although, there has been an instance where a child had drank from another child's cup, our set up prevents this from happening. The only time children have access to their drinks is during breakfast, snack, or lunch. We never just have them sitting out. As child care "professionals," the staff at the gym needs to be more aware & pay more attention because who knows what another child may have.
I really liked this video especially JoJo's stone face in the pool lol I'm glad that Jerry sees the good in life when he looks at the sky cuz I do the same. God is an artist.
As a care provider, and one that deals mostly with children, I do believe that was careless on the staff's behalf. I was trained to always be watchful and that there is always enough staff so that even if I were to get distracted, I have at least 2 others with me. I would definitely address it with the gym staff. I like that you all handled it and were able to go back to positivity! 😊👍

Hey LaVignes! I'm a child care taker at a Day Care and as you may know children do move fast that's why we have to be diligent and keep our eyes focused on the entire room not just one child. It's important that you let the caretaker know that you didn't appreciate him sipping from a strange cup. I'm sure they'll start being more careful about that and have a different way of handling personal cup and bottles. Hope that helps!

I'm only 15, I'm no where near to having kids but I have tons of little cousins which I baby sit. Taking care of them is very difficult but I take care of them like I would take care of my own if I had any. If one of my cousins were in the situation J3, I'd be just as angry as Dee was. What if that wasn't juice? What if that person that had the cup before had a virus? The workers need to be reported because that's no where near right. All hazardous objects should be kept away at all times but I'm again I'm a baby myself so what do I know lol. On the bright side, I love y'all's family so much. I find my self going around calling Jordan "my big gurrrr" or "my jojo" and J3 is "my bubbies" 😂😂 God bless. ❤️

Omg. I can't watch you guys at work anymore. I work in front of a computer and that last scene with Jerry had me laughing out loud and my colleagues looking at me like I'm crazy. Love your family! On the daycare issue you need to speak with the owner or manager to address that issue. The worker might just say i'm sorry now and do it again later! If whoever you spoke to was the owner, I would not send them back there.

Situation like that, I'd be calling management, the owners, news crews to expose them, and child services get that place either shut down or better staffed...but I'm that "extreme" type of person when it comes to me and my own and protecting them. Realistically, just talk to management or the owner and hopefully they can correct themselves

as someone who used to work in childcare, i'd report those workers to their management. under no circumstances a child should be left alone, if you're playing with the small child you either need to A. hold them and go to the other children or put the smaller child in a playpen in an area where you can see the baby and the rest of the kids. especially if there was two people in there then really there is no excuse for the kids not to have supervison

I went to a really ghetto daycare before pre k. We learned the same thing everyday, they always gave my stuff to other kids, and they pulled a plait out of my head. A whole plait. Like hair. Braid.

Make a complaint because it's bigger than him drinking off the cup, the kids should have never been left alone something worst could have happened. It's their job to watch them what if one of the kids was choking or something and no one was in there to help them....file a complaint or its gonna happen again.
