Replicating a Jungle Oasis for a Growing Tree Frog Colony

- Earlier this year, my Cuban Tree Frog tadpoles had finished their metamorphosis into frogs. It’s been a slow journey since, but I managed to get them some friends who are roughly the same size. They needed a place to live and thrive together until they’re large enough to enter their final home, so I made them one. This jungle oasis turned out great; the frogs love it and seem to appreciate having more strength in numbers.

What should I name the last frog? I can’t get enough of these little frogs, but they won’t stay this small for much longer. They’re following a similar growth rate as Mark, which means they’ll increase exponentially soon. I'm looking forward to the day when they all can live together. Until then SerpaSquad, I hope you all enjoyed this video and have a great weekend!
Please name one Kermit. Or you can stick to the fruit theme (e.g. Muscat, Yuzu, Kiwi, Apricot or Tomato)
Eggplant
Fogo
Peach or banana
Pineapple, to go with the other tropical fruits
Please call her Melon! Such an adorable frogger! 🐸
yeessss great name
was thinking the same thing! :)
My idea was Honeydew, so we think alike! Perfect for a sweet little female froggy. 😊
Yes, Melon is perfect.
I like melon a lot too❤ good choice
Maybe Lychee as a name. I love your new editing touches.
I second Lychee!
Was just gonna say lychee 😊
Lychee!
Lychee would be great considering her color
Lychee matches the others so well
lol the Jimmy Neutron brain blast was such a cool reference!
I didn't see it coming, that was a gem
Clementine would be super cute for her name. She's adorable!
Persimmon! little round and yellow, just like her!
And she could be "Percy" for short.
Froggy name suggestions: Kumquat, Cantaloupe, Melon (saw that in the comments as well haha),Apricot. I personally love Kumquat
I like kumquat. It makes the 5yo in my giggle.
@@evalyer it is such a fun word to say! That is why it's my favorite of the bunch :D
I really like Apricot!
My vote is for Kumquat.
It’s awesome to see how much more comfortable you’ve become over the years. not just behind the camera but with your editing.
0:52 LMAOOO JIMMY NEUTRON MENTIONED🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Brain blast!
Call the new one "Cherimoya"...it's a delicious Caribbean fruit. Good story!
Yes! Cherimoya is perfect: it's tropical, it's sweet, and it's tree-frog green.
I agree!
I may have a name idea for you - Yuzu - along with a short story:
4 years ago, I found a small fowler's toad outside that was injured; the skin on his right arm was torn, revealing the muscular tissue beneath it. It looked as if he was attacked by a bird or a raccoon. I took this little guy in and named him Kiwi. For 2 weeks he was too scared to eat, until he gathered up his courage. Since then, he became one of the friendliest toads I have ever seen. He enjoyed being held, constantly begged for attention, and ate a variety of foods from my fingers or tongs. Over the years I had upgraded his enclosure; starting from a quaint little 12x12x12" bioactive vivarium with nothing but bark and moss. He eventually moved to a 12x12x18 with plants, an 18x18x24 (which can be seen on my channel), and finally, a few months ago, his final home; a 24x18x18 with a huge variety of plants, moss, and leaf litter, a large "pond", and a cleanup crew consisting of red wiggler worms, 2 species of springtails (1 uninvited native), detritus mites, and isopods, along with 2 girlfriends. He thrived in his enclosure until 3 weeks ago, when his health started going downhill. He was old for a fowler's toad (4 years, 4 months to be specific - for reference, the oldest fowler's toad in captivity was 2 years and 5 months.) A few days ago, it was Kiwi's time...I will forever miss the way that he stalked me, his silly noises, and the way he begged for attention by following me around the pet room. I will never be the same without you, Kiwi. Thank you for making my last 4 years tolerable.
My name idea for your unnamed frog is the name of Kiwi's first girlfriend; Yuzu. She started off scared, as many toads do, but her personality has blossomed. She's growing into a beautiful girl, a ferocious eater, and begs for attention, following me around the room, just like how Kiwi did. Please note that you don't have to name your tree frog Yuzu, but it would make my day. It fits into your exotic fruit theme as well, like it did mine, but don't feel pressured by me to do so.
Thank you for your amazing, calming, and inspirational videos that I've enjoyed over the past 7 years. I will forever be a fan of your art.
Just stopped to say this comment made my heart happy☺️
Yuzu is a great name!
YUZU! this is the name
GUAVA. Thank you Tanner, EXCELLENT as always ! 🌺💚🙃
It's crazy how much influence you had on my life. Because of you I learned so much about plants and stuff like this. I found out really fast, that it's not about the animals for me. I love creating stuff with plants and waterstuff an of course landscaping. I'm here for a few years now and it's time to say thank you. You opened the door for my most loved hobby ever. Thank you man.
Oh and if I EVER get rich, I will definetly hire you (if possible) to build an amazing Paludarium for and with me. 😍
Idk why but the name Apple came to mind. Like a green apple. So cute! Love the back story and all the video edits. You show your gift for making a mini movie (documentary) as well as your gift for creating ecosystems. Your love for frogs shines too. This is such a wonderful video to watch and help me stop scrolling through all the destruction from Helene. I don’t want to stop praying for those who lost everything but I think I need a break from it. Sadly they can’t take a break. God be with them. 🙏🏻 Thank you for this reminder of peaceful times and the way things should be.
Honeydew! Perfect cute name for a sweet little female frog with a patterned cream and green back with vibrant light green underneath. Or Cherimoya, aka custard apple. Light but vibrant green skin with soft ivory or cream colored flesh.
Hey, I'm wondering if you could make an ecosystem but focusing on the plants more than the animals. Getting exotic, strange rare plants to make it look really jazzy? Love the videos by the way.
That'd be so cool
A rare plant terrarium or riparium, or an orchidarium would be so cool! I love the animals but I don’t keep any and only do terrariums.
Love to see your sense of humor coming out in the edits
Yuzu is a citrus fruit and would make a cute name. I love the addition of the bromeliad in the enclosure- they really make the best little frog hiding places.
Every video like this reminds me of how skilled Tanner is, with such simple materials he created a beautiful vivarium. Its like watching Bob Ross paintings come to life as he works.
I really love on how you make natural, beautiful, exotic ecosystems keep up the work Serpa ❤
Pitaya! It’s another name for dragonfruit. Tropical, exotic and easy to pronounce!
I’m so envious of your workshop graveyard! I just spent the other day putting all my things into baskets and compiling the things I have. I’ve always been super inspired by your setups - not just those for animals but your behind the scenes organization. I hope one day I can be as organized!
Love how much fun you had with the editing on this one 😂
I’m loving the fruit name theme for the babies!! The little one with no name yet seems so observant and sweet. Maybe…”Sugar”?
Also loving this setup!! What a neat way to reflect on the past, and bring new life for your critters. ✨
absolutely love your illustrations of context. on top of your already insanely unreal enclosure builds. your channel is very entertaining. checks all boxes for me. thanks for the inspiration as always Tanner!
Happy tree frogs!🐸 Great build & video. Thanks Tanner😊
I really like the new styling and effort in the videos!
Lot more fun and involved!
Great jungle tree frog oasis! ..I'd call no name "Pearl" because she has a pearl like complexion. 😀 Thanks for the video.
This turned out so beautiful!! I love the features as much as the frogs. Visually striking. Thank you so much for sharing!
Mango's little hands ❤ 🐸
Sweet pea is the name that immediately came to mind for the darling little no name frog.
Haha! Only a minute and 50 in but I've been loving the humor in the episode. The shots of you knocking all that stuff from the top shelf onto you and choking on the dust mid sentence genuinely gave me a good chuckle! Keep it up!
i named my little gargoyle gecko lady kiwi, and whenever she's gravid i call her papaya so it's such a joy to see the two names of my beloved girl applied to SUCH vivacious little froggies... i defo second the comment suggestions of lychee!
Plum feels like a good name ❤
This is our collaboration from Luca and Dad - Daffy goodluck beatifull frogs!
For the tropical fruit theme, you could name the last frog Lychee!
Peach!
I KNEW a brainblast was coing!! Nice animation T!!
I'm watching from helene destruction in asheville nc. Thanks for the escape from reality.
Watching from madeira beach fl where my house was flooded, I feel you hard. Hope you’re staying safe and wishing you the best
Watching this from the UK were we rarely get any natural disasters. Great video
Hugs to you! I'm so sorry - I can't wait until they open things up so we can help!
Super cool. This may influence my decision to save some tree frogs from my local big box establishment!!!
Thanks Tanner!
wonderful setup! 🐸
I wish I could share a picture of my Pacific Tree Frog, Pirate with everyone! I just love watching them explore!
i have been falling asleep to your 2 hour+ hardscape tutorial video for so long, will you ever make something in that style again? your longer asmr video's are the best! love the new editing style on this video btw :)
Lovely new home, for some adorable babies 🙂
Keeping with fruit. Passion or Dragon would be cute. Also Cherry or melon. Amazing set up!
I’ve been waiting for this one!
Nice Jimmy Neutron Brain Blast btw haha
tree frogs/chorus frogs are so wonderful to keep. i put a larger water feature in my guys tank recently.
i love all your projects, but a tropical vivarium with a waterfall will always be my favorite
Man how I wish I had your talent and creativity, another beautiful creation.
His new style is so exciting!!!
I wanna see more frogs, Tanner! My hubs and I ❤️ the poison dart frogs at the reptile store. Once I'm sure I can set up and maintain the right conditions I hope we'll get a couple.
Amazing. Thanks.
Lychee would be a cute name! And keeping with the tropical fruit theme!
Tossing out Durian for a name, got to have the one odd ball fruit!
Maybe Grapefruit might be a good name.
I love how happy they all are! They are all so darn cute!❤
No name one can be Pineapple and i love the design its awesome
Paw Paw! USA's largest native fruit!
Heck yeah!
You should call the nameless frog Durian! and thank you for the great video!
Soursop for No Name! It's my favorite tropical fruit flavor for a smoothie. Cherimoya would also be good
Big Ants Canada energy in the narration putting the frogs into the habitat.
Keep doing what you’re doing!!
Great story telling, great editing, a true artist. It has been a great pleasure to watch you progress, by far a favorite channel of mine. Fig would be a good name. Thanks for the great content.
I love frogs
POG - Passionfruit Orange and Guava! Love the channel so much!
Hey just an idea I had: put a little of this fuzzy hemp thread (sorry I don't know what's it called in english) around the bolts thread, I'd think that would look awesome and fit the whole theme.
Quality stuff as always man, have been watching for a long time and you always fascinate and provoke me to think about rebuilding my aquaponic setup with a nice looking aquarium. Thanks for making this great content, you're one my absolute top RUclipsrs that I really look forward to, in whatever pace that might be to be good for you 😊
Always amazing to see you create such awesome habitats ❤
I love how they all have fruit names except for Mark. :) u should name the last one star like a star fruit
Another great build BIG DOGGIE 💯👣
I love the simplicity!
Wait? Kiwi, Mango and Mark? I'm dead! 😂
Great video! Star, Lychee, or Citron.
Great new edit style and lay out of the vid, awesome. 🎉
Another amazing build. Thanks for the inspiration over the years. I am currently working on a home for Dendrobates tinctorius 'Azureus'.
Ohhh.. frogs is my favorite.❤
Melon, Fig , or Apple would be cute name. 🐸♥️
Sir, I just Love your tanks & your uploads. Your just Amazing.
Always, always love your work!
Brainblast! 🤯 Nice one, Nerdtron 😂❤
Her name should be Apricot! lol so adorable
Lychee would be a very fitting name.
I wish I had the amount of confidence you do when snapping cut glass.
We have Cuban tree frogs all over sw Florida. They hide in everything. 😂🥰
Cucumber!!! I feel like it suits her.
You truly are an artist, Tanner. We have a huge female American toad visiting our porch, and I’ve decided to call her Delilah in honor of Samson.
brilliantly, beautiful💛👏🏽
How about Avocado? Such a cute name!
It's an Avocado! Thanks!
I dig this editing style
this was such a fun video to watch!!
I will now be yelling Brain Blast! When ever I have a good idea! Thanks Tanner!
More tropical names for you … quenepa, guanabana, mamey … and so many others
Honestly, when you said she was unsure and shy, my mind immediately jumped to Ginger! But a true fruit name is cuter.
Perfect timing
Well done!
Appy for apple is cute
The editing was outstanding in this video! Really enjoyed it a lot
All these names sound like my yard in Florida. My yard had all of those, plus dwarf bananas and red pineapples.
I like the name "Flower" for no name!
An awesome build 👍
To go with the theme of the tropical fruits, call her Annona!
Someone suggested naming the last frog Yuzu and I love that idea.
