The announcer states that the first philharmonic broadcast was “over 100 years ago.” Before 1852? I don’t think so. On November 2, 1920, station KDKA made the nation's first commercial broadcast, about 101 years ago now. The announcer must have misspoke.
Laudanum and Morphine were common and readily available in the 'Old West' of the 1870s. Bayer began to market Heroin as an alternate to morphine in the 1890s.
I think it was a running joke of what to call Chester. Deputy, friend, partner, associate, helper. One time Matt specifically said, "He's not my deputy".
One of those really intense and kinda dark early episodes. Very touching...
Best western ever been and always will be. I watch 4 hours a day. Lol can’t get enough
Radio and movies.
Matt Dillon is the law. He's a lawman all right. He doesn'√ break the law. He enforces it, with great common sense. Thanks Matt
Thank you for sharing. This is a very enjoyable and well-made series of radio programs.
Relaxing bedtime listening before I drift off to sleep, thank you. 🤠
Hard story, no happy ending.
It must have been written by democrats
@@sheeznutz2254 Yeah, must be, since Republicans don't know how to write.

Deputy Proudfoot.
Although he’s never mentioned as a deputy. Funny.

Marshall Dillion was a bad dude
This is pretty good. It disturbs me to think of what was justice then. It's bad enough in 2020. I wonder if we will find true justice.
Granny, today as in the days of Gunsmoke, justice depends on how much money you have to spend. Being poor is a very good way to receive injustice.
@@bentnickel7487 I sure do agree. Runs rampant today!
I learned in law school that justice is what happens when the proper rules of law are applied to the relevant evidence.
@@bentnickel7487 then dont be poor
