I STILL LOVE EVERY MINUTE of this video -- one that I have watched dozens of times!!! The introductions are awesome, the sound is amazing and everything made me want more!!!
This is a jazz rendition of a rock song by the 60s group, The Box Tops for whom a teen-age Alex Chilton was lead singer. The band was based in Memphis.
Now more than ever, with the COVID pandemic, watching performances like this make me smile and wish I was there. It's amazing how we took social gatherings like this for granted in the past. People are screaming for days like these again. Bravo.
Only if you allow them to take your freedom. It is apparent they have gotten in your head. Think for yourself UN plug use your brain for more than a fecal sponge of noise. Too many sheep
To all my current subscribers and new subscribers, thank you so much for watching. Thank you for your comments. I hope that you and your families are well. My heart goes out to you as I know each of us have been touched by this Pandemic. Today I had a conference call with exceptional artists from around the world. We discussed the issues that is needed to create an outlet to perform our craft to uplift and inspire our audiences to ensure that artists get paid to entertain their work We would like to know if you would like to see this channel featuring a variety of entertainment such as music theater, dance and other art forms. With over 50 years of entertainment experience I have access to a multitude of high caliber artists and the artists that I was talking to today also have access to a multitude of artists from whole over the world in their respective genres.Obviously now there are no venues for audiences except RUclips to express their craft.Ideally this channel would be funded through Sponsorships and grants. Would you support a variety show of entertainment by watching ? Please let me know
I loved the introductions..., made me feel like I was at the concert! Great to watch Susan try not to take the mic..., and when she was coaxed into doing so, by the other musicians... WOW!
I appreciate all the comments made on this video even some that are extremely negative on my part. The band had played a 45 minutes before Susan and Derek and others sat in so I thought it was appropiate to introduce members sorry if that made you uncomfortable and So you know this old guy played with Joe Cocker since 1969 at Woodstock with the Grease Band and also Mad Dogs anf Englishmen in 1970 That's why we played this song. In 2015 Derek and Susan invited members of Mad Dogs to perform at Lockin festival in Lynchberg Va as a tribute to Joe Leon Russell Rita Coolidge,Chris Stainton Dan and Matt Moore Claudia Lennear,Chuck Blackwell It was a step back in time that was very emotional. That was the 1st time ever meeting Susan and Derek being the sweetest people you'll ever want including band members to meet they are my friends forever
I really loved the intros. It's fun to see each musician get their moment to shine and to see what creative stuff they'll come up with. I'm glad you included it! If someone doesn't want to watch it, then move the slider to the right. Sheesh!
and priceless James Burke, these artists have recognized accomplishments individually but this jam on a true classic is simply marvelous and excellent in every way.
Damn...Every song I hear her sing just reels me in. I've said it before. The female voice is a force to be reckoned with....and she's got it. Please continue Susan , to entertain us.....
Thanks for showing this to your son I have my daughter and son playing with me we played for 45 minutes prior and I wanted to introduce my musicians who have played with me for over 10 years which many objected to so I am grateful and appreciative by your comments
To brucebud I don't know if you received my reply so in case you didn't.Ithank you for your reaction.Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi had reached out to Joe Cockerin 2014 to do a tribute by songs to the Movie in 1971called Mad Dogs and Englishmen Joe was into it but backed out only to find out later he had lung cancer which killed him in December of that year. Derek and Susan decided in 2015 to do the tribute with surviving members of that band Mad Dogs and Englishmen which included Leon Russell myself and about 15 others you will see in the movie (Learning to live Together) Sept 30th in Woodstock Bearsville theatre and nationwide release in October Which was filmed at Lock'in Festival in West Virginia. This movie (Learning to live Together) is amazing in it's talents of everybody who played and sang of this tribute that phenomenally syncs from 1971 to 2015. I was so impressed by Derek and Susan in 2015 that I convinced that entertainment director of Waterfront blues festival to book them in 2016 and to let my band open for them on the last song of my set Derek and Susan plus some members of her band graciouly joined my band doing The Letter I do so hope you get to see the movie Learning to live Together
What a groove that band builds to during Bobby's intro! More than half the fun. Lot's of talent on that stage. Bobby, I'd see your band anytime this COVID-19 mess lets up.
Thought the intro was great! Thanks for saying the names. Made all those people so glad to be there! To hear their names was great. Thanks again! Sent chills up and down my spine!
No need what so ever to apologize Bobby what a talented and beautiful cast ,I can listen to them everyday in fact I do whenever I feel down it gets me grounded and feeling good o ya
Smokin' hot band here ! ! ! Just try and sit still when you listen too this ! Wonderful to see the whole ensemble so motivated by this energy-packed arrangement of a great Wayne Carson tune.
Honestly, this video is my introduction to the BTE. Here I am enjoying it, thinking how do these artists know each other, how do they have this conversation on stage, how is it so good? I don’t always read comments. But here you have someone presuming the show is about them, they are the player, writer, and they deserve their moment. The center of the universe. Until you understand how much this moment meant to the performers on stage, then be quiet. It ain’t about you. Thank you to both bands.
Once you start listening you just gotta get more and more. I am a week straight listening to nothing but Tedeschi Truck n Friends, which makes it twice as good. Unbelievable entertainment it just gets to your roots 🙌🙌🙌👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Never gets old to listen to timeless music .... this is historic.... I have been to a couple of concerts with Susan and Derek in Chattanooga... always the best! Thanks for posting this video.
Excellente.......l saw the box tops. Summer of 1967 in NYC. Playing this tune...later l saw joe coker in Venezuela. Back in 1975....but this Bobby torres ensemble are excellent.
AWESOME group of talent on that stage, and I'm more than happy to see Derek and Susan get the recognition that they deserve . There is alot of talent in north east Florida , and they really inspire the local musicians here ,thanks for posting this

Nothing negative here! Great stuff. Good to know who all these talented people are. Introducing the band after a long set is commonplace and welcomed by the fans. Great song and great groove.

What I love the most is their mutual respect and how they let the other shine at precisely the right moment.
Once in a while I return to this gorgeous piece of music, and still can't get enough of it.

Every people Who helps for reminding to joe, leon and the great 60/70s have a place reserved in heaven, thanks a lot

I get it! Susan can really wail !
I'm here for the music!
Susan always amazes me. My God
she's special.
Never in their wildest dreams could the Four Box Tops have imagined such a funkinaciously brilliant rendering of that song.
Aint this what music is all about, so much talent on one stage. Mr Cocker would be thrilled, as would the fabulous box tops. Kudos to y'all!
But you know, I wasnt the biggest Joe Cocker fan. I always thought the Boxtops did it best.
Een zonnige morgen en dan opnieuw deze muziek. Dank! Dank! Dank!
IF you are not moving you're feet and soul to this little song, you're not alive cutie pie.
FANTASTIC... best-ever version of this Box-Top classic...!
