12 deserves some credit. The foundation that made 13 and 14 great is almost entirely laid by 12. I still play that game to this day, and I don't feel like the experience is all too different.
As much as I play 14 more, 12 was my peak NCAA playing days. It's a season a week in dynasty, and was the game my buddy Andrew and I played every time I dropped him off after morning workouts in high school when I had free period. I remember I went looking for a copy of 14 at a EB Games during the final days of them selling 360 games here in Canada in 2017/18. They didn’t have it, but had a case-less copy of 13 in stock that got massively reduced down to $2 after they checked for it in their system. Love this game.
The detail to each stadium and team was an awesome thing As a PSU alum it got our whole pre game details down even Nittany lion dancing and growling with his scarf on That was amazing to see and brought me back to being at the stadium as a student in the late 90s

Was looking for NCAA games online and didn't wanna pay an outrageous amount on eBay, so I settled for ncaa 13. It's a solid game, but I would prefer simpler recruiting personally. But, the gameplay is ahead of its time for sure, love it!

The last legitimately good football game EA ever made was NCAA 13. It most definitely has the best recruiting of the PS3 era to me. It didn't have the immersive little things PS2 did like whether or not a player was Mister Football for their state and their HS numbers, but yeah. I legitimately love this game and it's a big reason why I parted ways with 14. 13 is the better game overall yet 14 is the more celebrated even though I believe it is worse than 13. 13 is a simulation game that really makes you work for what you get. Dynasty is really good and the physics is just as good. 10-13 were solid, pity Madden stopped being able to import draft classes after 12.
NCAA 13 is the best game in the series and I have all the NCAA games since bill walsh college football. It's way better than 12 because in NCAA 12, every LB can jump like they have Zone KO elite in madden. It's also much better than 14 because NCAA 14 has some serious Physics issues.
In NCAA Football 3, if you run PA Read in any shotgun formation and hold (A for X-Box; X for PS) during the fake handoff, the QB will hand the ball off to the running back. This was removed in NCAA Football 14. So technically, NCAA 13 has RPOs, while NCAA 14 does not.
It's kind of crazy how EA seemed to genuinely put in more love and depth into their college football games than the freaking Madden games at this point in time they had every incentive to just make the same games but slightly different but these games were still really good while madden was just decent maybe the developers were different and were given more time or something idk that could explain it
13 is my favorite. I never bought 14 at release and bought a copy more recently and was not a fan of it as much as 13. Recruiting is one of my favorite things about 13 for sure.
Finally someone else feels this way about 13. I never got to grow up with any of the NCAA football games unfortunately, so by the time I got interested in these games it was too late. I bought NCAA 13 on eBay for $15 and have had blast. I rebuilt Utah State, FAU, San Jose State, and even did a road to glory. I always felt like I was missing out because no one makes videos on NCAA 13. From what I have seen from NCAA 14 videos, I think that 13 is better. After watching this video, I feel like my opinion is a lot more validated. I'd also recommend 13 to anyone, as it's way less of a hassle to find, and won't break your bank account either.
I prefered the design philosophy of recruiting in 13 over 14. Sure it was a bit more time consuming and could get tedious, but it treated the prospects more like actual characters, and less like they are just entries in a spreadsheet: ruclips.net/video/7xSKn4zRx24/видео.html
Highly agree. 13 is honestly my favorite on the PS3. 12 was very solid and built a great foundation for 13 to strive on. 14 was good but I hated the new recruiting system and passing felt very weird imo. 13 wasn't perfect but it was great.
This is the game I still play. Sure the recruiting takes longer, but it's so worth it! It's way more in-depth, challenging, and realistic. In 14, you just throw points at players lol. It's a lot harder to master the recruiting in 13 as well, which I like.
One thing I always loved to do in '13 was play as the rival team in Heisman challenge (RG3 on TCU, Barry Sanders on the Sooners, etc). It's always fun to step into (or make from scratch) an alternate canon in a sports game.
Oh man the nostalgia…. So I had a ps2 and PSP up until December 2012, backtrack to ncaa 11 ps2, I saw the gameplay trailers on RUclips showing the new pre game traditions and espn integration. Even though I Prefer 14, hell it sucked when I lost my copy of it. I liked to play 13 as well and yeah it’s underrated but sadly it’s overshadowed by 14.
The main thing that 13 had over 14 was draft eligible underclassmen actually left early if they put up great stats. In 14 your star 99 overall rated underclassman edge rusher could have 50 sacks his junior year or redshirt sophomore and still return to school. In real life he’d be gone.
