Hello! I see you follow two of my favourite turners Kent and Phil. Gary Asher (The Pappa 1947) completes the three I always watch. A very lovely bowl! So happy to see someone use the pith cut off since as you said, it often has the most beautiful grain and figure! Cheers, Rick
Thank you! I also am a big fan of Gary! His inventive approach and willingness to try non-traditional methods like the 3d printing/laser, etc really appeals to my engineering brain.
@richardswells3335 not if you turn it thin enough. I've got plenty of bowls I've turned green around my house with no cracks. The only cracks that show up are if there is a branch in the side of the bowl. That's like a mini-pith and may develop some cracks. But even then, they are minor.
Beautiful piece of wood and a beautiful bowl Jim, nicely done,
Kind regards From Will 👍 😊
Many thanks! I really appreciate you watching! I enjoy watching the variety of your turnings as well.
Beautifully outstanding work, thanks for sharing your creations with us 🙏🏼
@@alsaffarstudios thank you!

Superb Jim. What a cracking looking bowl 👍🏴
Thank you!
I love that wood. The color tones and grain features remind me of olive.
@scottcates thank you! It is similar, but the colors in this are more varied and vivid. I wish I could show everyone in person, it's just amazing.
Great looking grain. Love your vision.
Thanks! My mom was an artist and I like to think I got some small part of her talent.
Beautiful ❤️👍
@williampeak8851 thank you!
Beautiful bowl
Thank you! Cheers!
Gorgeous!! What did you use as your finish?
Thanks! I used 3 coats of Danish oil. It takes several days to do all the coats so I didn't show that.
Why not mark a rough dimension out and trim it down with a small eletric chain saw... ?
Ahhh nvm lol
I'm assuming you heard my reasoning in the video? Thanks for watching!
You don't think it will Crack using wet wood???
