Hi there 😊 I've been watching your Heilung reactions and I just wanted to say this song in particular is the one that I first discovered from them. One of my favorite Heilung songs.
They are chanting the Runic alphabet, called The Futhark. It's repeated 9 times. Marias 'solo' was recorded in one take for the album Ofnir. The 2 male members of Heilung were recording the track for the album and they asked Maria to do some vocals for it. She thought they would only use part of it but they used the whole piece. Heilung is a German word for Healing. This was taken from their first live performance at Castlefest in the Netherlands. This is a great review, you should check out Krisgalder from the same gig, and Anoana the official video.
Please do not miss them if they play in your area. As good as these videos are they can't begin to convey how spectacular they really are live. Those amplified drums keep your chest vibrating almost continuously. Nicer stage setup. Over a dozen singers and warriors. It's positively amazing!
16:55 The word you are looking for is probably ‘harmonious’. They are so in harmony in their music and their singing. The best thing to do with her music is to close your eyes and just let it sink in! I've been a big fan of HEILUNG since their first appearance in LIFA (2015) and have bought all their albums because I can simply switch off to their music. But live they are simply the best!
😅😅Yeah, no. I wouldn't want to be that person at all. .lol I'd soil myself for sure. But this music makes me think about similar scenarios and that is a part of why I love it.
Awesome reaction! I saw them in concert in the city of Stuttgart Germany, when I was in Europe. I just don't have the words to describe how I felt. Something you might find interesting. I know you've reacted to Wardruna once, but there is another song called "Lyfjaberg" or "Healing Mountain". The video version just sends me into another realm. The live version at the Acropolis of Athens just sent goosebumps throughout my body. I would watch the video version version with the CC on first. (You can find more accurate translations online). Then watch the live version. :)
I'm really sorry that I missed them. Had tickets for last April but a health issue prevented me from going. I hope I get another chance. They only did 3 US shows this year (2024). Denver, Milwaukee and DC
MommaOG can I make a suggestion for another band i love? They're called PERCIVAL SCHUTTENBACH. They are a polish folk/metal band. Some albums are pure old style folk and some are metal with a splash of that folk music. They also did a lot of the songs for The Witcher 3 game. One of my all time favorite games btw. Anyway. Hope you consider this band.
I guess this music (ritual) has a tendency for us all to long for harmony ,being part of tribe fitting in and being loved by your neighbor and loving them back …….like I read in a comment above when Roman’s came to the north of Europe they tried to break us and make slaves of us ,then a 1000 years later the church did the same and took this away from us ….slowly but they surely…persecution, burning on stakes yes thanks those monsters we lost our way ! But they didn’t win Heilung is bringing us back together again ❤ call out to nature and it wil answer your questions Remember that we al are brothers sisters!
@@n5iln 💜💜Thank you. Saying them aloud now makes me think this would be great to use as a chant during meditation. I've never chanted when trying to meditate but I would be willing to try it. Thanks again!

I guess you would call that a shamanic vocalisation from Maria Franz. It is truly captivating.

Yes. Harmony and Cohesion!
maria franz has a fascinating technique, showcased in this song. it's unbelievable appealing. thanks for your reaction.
Imagine being a Roman Centurion encamped in the Northlands and trying to prepare for sleep, and hearing this echo through the trees.
