As a wildlife biologist, I've been surrounded by turkeys, dragging their wingtips over my toes, and sitting on my knees. Also have had several rattlesnakes crawl over my (booted) feet. Also had three raccoons all around me, pulling them selves up my pants legs. Been close enough to a large (>40 lb) bobcat to touch it, and several weeks later met the same bobcat on a forest trail about 1/2 mile from our previous meeting. This time he had a large squirrel that he dropped at my feet, and I handed it back to him. Had both red and grey foxes come close enough to sniff my shoes. Had a troop of wild hogs surround me, pushing and shoving to get close. Love the great outdoors!
@@darrinbunston5932, one morning, I came around a dense mass of brush, and found myself about 15-20' from a large black bear. I would estimate him at 350-400 pounds. I think we were both surprised, because both of us froze. The bear moved first, standing and sniffing. Then he dropped to all fours and went away from me, lost sight of him at about 45 yards from me. I surprised myself by not feeling any fear, just a happy encounter in the woods. That afternoon, I came across a very large sow feral hog, that I estimated at about 500 lb. She was HUGE! And that time I honestly felt fear, a true "fight or flight" moment. She had not seen me, however, and went merrily on her way. We were privileged to have a pair of wolves come to stay with us for nearly 3 months! We had three young boys at the time. No intimidation, just humbleness and patience. Our youngest son liked to swim, but the wolves would not allow him to do so. They were very careful to keep him away from the water. Memorable time!

There's only 4% difference between us and Gorillas, 3% with Orangutans and 2% with Chimps and bonobos. Gorillas, Exactly where we where around 8 million years ago, thinking about the world around us, although now their consciousness is expanding faster because we're in the midst of a global mass extinctions event of which throughout natural history, and leap of evolution occurs by animal filling in the niches left behind my animals lost to extinctions through natural and unnatural selection, through us human in other words. Through my observations over the past 48yrs but intently for around 30yrs, I've seen animal consciousness grow, show more if what we call human characteristics, but remember it's us that think we're alone in the world of extremely evolved species, the top predator, and evolutionary giant, with a brain holding a consciousness bigger than the universe itself, so we're more like them rather than them us. Enjoyed the video mate.
Considering how terribly hyenas are treated in the wild by their own kind, the pets that one hyena got is probably the most love it has ever felt in its life.
That was #18 with Kevin Richardson, who owns his own rescue reserve in South Africa (most lions). HE'S AMAZING . I would never have appreciated hyenas without him! #TheLionWhisperer ❤️❤️❤️
well Male Hyenas because if you are a female Hyena then you have no problem since you are bigger and stronger plus you are valued by the pack because you give birth. Male Hyenas are soo sad
Brandon, it is sad. However, think on this: There was a time, back in the early part of this century (the first decade), when I visited my mother, who was still alive and living in the Laguna Hills are in Orange County, California. She was renting a condo. apt. from a friend. There was, at that time, a big problem with hyenas roaming freely around the area. Many people living there were elderly and had small pets: mostly dogs, but some cats. There were several instances where hyenas, seeing leashed dogs being walked by their owners, literally leaped up, approached the poor little dog, grabbed it, and started to eat it while running a way with the leash still attached. The owners
The thumbnail looks like the lioness sneaked up behind that photographer and thought "yes, this will be perfect" and stuck a kick me sign on his back. Lol
I don't think the animals were total strangers to the photographers but with weeks or maybe with months of interaction with humans, they lost fear and curiosity took over.
The cheetah and the cubs the photographer had been following the mother for months and so she was use to him being about and knew he wasn't a threat to her cubs after they were born. Also many of these are issues of the animals being in sanctuaries and know the cars/trollies are not a threat to them, so they'll come up and rub on them and the people to mark them.
If you notice, some of them had collars on? I'm assuming a tracking collar, not necessarily an indication that they are a pet, but they've also made contact with humans before no doubt
That is at a rescue and reserve. That is clearly a wound from a wire or chain when it was previously kept in captivity. Like domestic dogs, they can remain affectionate to humans even after being mistreated by them. It has already been treated but is still healing. Had it not been raised by humans it wouldn’t be so friendly.
@@pattic8473 hey, that wasn’t one of his Hyenas. I haven’t seen any of his hyenas have wounds like that. (EDIT: read another comment and watching it back realised it’s not a wound. It’s a collar of some sort). Plus it was a woman’s hand stroking it. Kevin is an amazing human being though, and his animals are all incredible too! Glad you know about him. More people need to! Have a great day!
I noticed it, too! Is this a normal type of wound from another hyena or its prey? Very odd and very sad, he may have been interested in the photographer for help.
This is proving that all lives on earth can live together in some ways, not always trying to kill each others. Would that be nice if we all have consideration for one another, this world would be heaven.
18:24 also, it’s very irresponsible to even jokingly tell people to “run” from a grizzly bear..that’s literally the worst thing you could possibly do and will trigger the bears instincts..it will chase you, and it WILL catch you as they can run faster than any human on the planet.
Agree with you @Melanie Hook Also, to tell people, "can you pet a Hyena?" crazy irresponsible to show footage of Kevin Richardson, whose life work & years with these animals have given him the knowledge & relationship with these wild and dangerous animals. The footage is poorly edited and all over the place at times, misaligned with what the narrator is saying.
I know this to be true as my son who was 5 years old with autism decided to befriend a bear cub. I was throwing the garbage down the landfill at the dump. My Father in-law {my sons Grandpa) was in the truck. I went to my son slowly as the mother bear came up behind her bear cub. I grabbed my son's hand and opened the door of the truck. I got him in and jumped in the truck. I know if I had shown fear and made any sudden moves we would have been in serious trouble. We lived to tell about it 27 years later.
Man said hed run from a pack of wolves, basically hinting to anyone watching they should run. Ppl need to watch what they say on the internet people gonna get killed thinking they can run from wild predatory animals.
Anybody else just LOVE how that lion came after that girl while she was posing triumphantly over a kill she didn't deserve since she was so far away he didn't even know he was in a fight? Up close, it's obvious who the real boss is.
Kevin Richardson is my animal hero! ( the guy with the hyena) he does the most amazing work and even though he can go in with his animals he knows enough to read the signs and when to not stay in. They are wild and deserve to be left that way. Kevin rescues his then gives them the best life he can as they cannot go back to the wild. He does so much with education and works with the governments in preservation and hunting topics
I do love seeing God's gifts to us. Unfortunately there are many horrible times when people are vicious to God's animals. To show them love and trust in humans puts them at risk for those who want to abuse or kill them. Elephants are abused by people that are supposed to praise them in their relugion. Animals are killed for some " cure " that will make a person " healthy ". I don't know how to protect animals from those people that will be harmful. I do feel however, that allowing them to feel safe with humans isn't good in the long run. Unless, animals are much smarter than the rest of the human population and can sense when the humans approaching are not safe for them to be around.
Wild animals usually only approach humans when they need some sort of help, it would be better to always keep that in mind. It is obvious when an approach is hostile.
More often than not if they approach you it is because the animal is curious. Elephants, primates, and many birds have a high level of intelligence that makes them very curious. That's why we see so many videos of wild animals curiously approaching people. 7/10 times it's curiosity rather than they need help
So true they are just the apitomy of massive solid muscle and I have seen so many shows where they tollerate us if we do no harm they do not seem to be too concerned...they must know we are the disgusting animals who killed their population. It seems animals unlike we are lead to believe are similar to us unless you threaten, make them feel threatened or they are hunting they are not prone to needless violence. They also seem to have a great memory and loyalty if they are done a good deed and even care for other animals. Funny as we find out more and more things are not quite as we were told usbeing far smarter and more civilised, caring, emotional and superior in every way to everything else yet as it turns out we dont have a clue really whats in an animals mind until shit happens and we find out. They are nothers, fathers and children and same as us will fight to protect, care for and nurture! But the Gorillas ...if I did have the nerve to sit and bow my head like they say ...still mY SHIT MYSELF!
I saw the full report of that encounter. The man sitting is not a professional photographer. He had helped raise the gorilla and the young woman in the video was a small girl at the time. Years later the man and daughter returned to where the gorilla had been released. The gorilla recognized them and brought his family to meet the man.
If watching this clips was exciting I can't imagine how much in awe photographers must have felt witnessing the actual encounters! Specially knowing that they are wild and sometimes dangerous animals! Amazing!
I felt extremely delighted, I salute to the brave heart photographers who are showing their exclusive commitment towards their job without caring for vulnerability that they are exposed to
I respectively disagree. Its not that simple. The concept of perceived 'energy' by an animal can very well be just an anthropormorphism on our part. Animals are hard wired. A hungry lion in the wild doesn't care if youre a good person who loves animals or just an edible treat. I've had pets all my life and I sincerely loved them. But I had respect for them too. They can react swiftly and viciously if wrongly triggered.
*Given the harsh treatment hyenas often face in the wild from their own kind, the companionship provided by a pet to a hyena might be the most affection it has ever experienced*
Disliked for clickbait. The title "This Lioness Surprised The Photographer In An Unexpected Way " is an outright lie. A title is a promise, and If you promise "this" lioness, you should deliver "this" lioness.
Yea no kidding, you noticed! it seems nobody else? hence humanity can be so easily manipulated. I noticed that amazing flying machine right away, like a sore thumb
I was recently introduced to a wolf-malimute hybrid . he stood close to 6:feet on it's hind legs. he was the most social animal I have ever met. he was literally the biggest lap dog I'd ever seen it was at a family members home and there were 6: other dogs there some very high strung but this guy went and greeted each person then went back to it's owner and tried to sit on her lap of that group of dogs the only other remotely friendly one was a pitbull. but because of the reputation of pitbulls people missinturpited it's behavior. she liked to fake people by the hand as they walked. she never injured anyone but she scared the shit out of many people myself included until I realized that her behavior wasn't anything more than being super social
IF wolf hybrids are raised the way they should be, and not like dogs, then they can be gentile. But if they aren't introduced to different people extremely early in life, then NOBODY but the owner can get anywhere near it. My ex bro and SIL used to raise wolves. The male was a HUGE sweetheart and stood 6 ft tall. The female was so wild that I couldn't even lay my hand on the fence
Our dog has a similar habit. She is very mouthy. She means them as kisses or little, harmless nibbles, or even to grab sleeves and drag you to something.
I had a timber wolf / husky mix growing up. Back in the early 90's we got her, she died in 2009. She was the family dog, and dealt with young me and all my antics without so much as a growl. In fact, the only person she ever managed to growl at was my annoying cousin who was climbing under the deck after her which is where she'd go when it was too hot to cool down. She used to catch all kinds of animals though, she'd snap Robins out of the air lol. She was an amazing beautiful girl. She lived to be 17. We all miss her still =(
I've had close encounters in the Rockies with bears, wolves, deer, squirrels and so many friendly birds. Birds and squirrels are way smarter than most people give them credit for.
Hard to pick just one photo. There were the Cheetahs, the Gorillas, the curios Arctic Fox and the Monkeys. Fascinating to see the Wolves wagging their tails in greeting. Squirrels can be very cheeky. Loved it all.
I cringe every time he says an animal, yet a completely different one is on screen. For example, talking about cheetahs and showing a leopard. Completely unrelated. The bird with the two red squirrels is not a hummingbird, either. It was some kind of tit, I believe. Also completely unrelated. Talking about seals, shows multiple sealions (also, why the hell would you show a sealion literally r*ping that poor penguin?!). There's also the chimp in the monkey part. Chimps are not monkeys.
Contrary to what people think cheetahs actually aren't all that strong. They're also fairly easy going big cats. Yes they can hurt or kill you but it's less likely. Especially considering that these cheetahs were in a park rather than the true wild. They're fairly used to humans in certain ways. Don't pet them though.
While on trip to South Africa my daughter actually petted a cheetah and it was purring. Their guide said that cheetah’s don’t purr and he was amazed as well.
Cheetahs have no documentated deadly attacks to humans on record. Some Cheetahs in captivity have been mistreated and have reacted aggressively, nothing deadly. They are lightweight animals closer in build to an average large dog, albeit with larger and stronger canine teeth, so they certainly need to be treated with respect. Also unfortunately they like to lick affectionately but their tongues are like wet sandpaper for licking flesh off bones!
At least one of those cheetahs had a tracking collar. The one on the ground next to him. So it has been acclimated to humans to some extent. I've seen a video of a tourist on safari in a vehicle that had a cheetah climb in to sit next to him & hang for a while. You often see them chilling out on the roof of vehicles so they can survey the area.
Me too. That show caught my interest in animals and it's grown ever since. Wonderful childhood memory and good documentaries about the animals not the narrator.
2:45 squirrels are a natural part of my school however if you ever leave your bag open, they will eat all your food. This one time, I sat on a bench and it just came up to me and fought for my food, omg I was so scared. hey can literally open bags and lunchboxes. They eat normal chips, etc. But we literally interact in a squirrel habitat lolz.
Actually yes, I too saw the video and thought something ain't right here so I did some research and found out that apparently furr seals have been found sexually assaulting penguins and the reason why it's still unknown
@@christopherreascosreacts I know, I knew that.....i just thought i pointed it out.....i'm sure most thought he was just "sitting on him". It's been in a few documentaries.
Hyenas usually smell terrible, like 3 week old dead animal because of what they eat. You can also catch TB from them. This is in Kwazulu Natal at least on the game farm I worked on.
If you have genuine interest in animal documentaries and watch enough of those, you'll find many of these videos there, where you'll see that many of these "wild" animals are cared of, trained and raised by humans in national parks and animal sanctuaries. Hence, the peaceful encounters were expected and predictable. Hence, the narrator's many claims must be taken with a pinch of salt.
Quite right. I recognized the hyena footage as being from Kevin Richardson’s sanctuary, where he cares for hyenas as well as big cats. So those were not just random animals, they have a bond with him. Quite misleading.
@@mariannemast9145 Yes, indeed! They, however, are more intelligent than we think. It's always the human that creates a dangerous situation by continously or unconsciously imposing threats to animals around. Having that said, the trained/tamed animals more often understand the difference.

PETA: 'Domestication is a cruel, unnatural thing, and no animals should ever be pets!' Various wild animals: 'Hi fren, plz giv me belly rubs and call me a gud boi.' Y'know, somethin' tells me domestication wasn't *just* our species' idea...
That particular zoo arranged for visitors to go into the wolves enclosure and "hang with the wolves"., as seen with the group of soldiers. at around 11:25. This worked fine as the wolves were fairly domesticated and used to humans. However, the zoo keeper in charge of the wolves had this idea to show physical aggression in order to gain dominance over the pack. This backfired eventually and led to the tragic death of a young employee who went in alone to feed the wolves. Visiting hours are now closed.
They're all so amazing. Haven't finished the video yet, my favorites so far are when the animals are " behind the lenses " as though they're photographers.
The male gorilla was raise by the blonde dude. He went back with his wife and reunited in the wild. Its even better than this video
Considering how terribly hyenas are treated in the wild by their own kind, the pets that one hyena got is probably the most love it has ever felt in its life.
Yes 😭😭😥😢
❤️
They are use to the cameras 🤩
The cheetah and the cubs the photographer had been following the mother for months and so she was use to him being about and knew he wasn't a threat to her cubs after they were born.
Also many of these are issues of the animals being in sanctuaries and know the cars/trollies are not a threat to them, so they'll come up and rub on them and the people to mark them.
If you notice, some of them had collars on? I'm assuming a tracking collar, not necessarily an indication that they are a pet, but they've also made contact with humans before no doubt

This! That poor penguin was pinned down and looked awfully distraught! I hope they helped it!
Lmaoooo
Am I the only one who saw that poor hyena’s neck? Bless it’s heart! That needed treated.
Kevin Richardson is known for rescuing lions and hyenas so I'm sure it was a rescue and now has a happy home.
@@pattic8473 hey, that wasn’t one of his Hyenas. I haven’t seen any of his hyenas have wounds like that. (EDIT: read another comment and watching it back realised it’s not a wound.
Okay so please tell me what you do.

I was most impressed with the silverback gorillas 🦍 absolutely breathtaking and just blended with the photographers as one big happy family 🤎🤎🤎
Amazing!
I felt extremely delighted, I salute to the brave heart photographers who are showing their exclusive commitment towards their job without caring for vulnerability that they are exposed to
Running is literally the worst thing you could do in most of these situations and it's rather irresponsible to suggest doing it.
The animals may have been in a park or in the wild. The amazing thing is how they reacted in front of the cameras. Love the video!

"A bite from a wolf can be lethal"
Can't agree more, The Long Dark 100% proves that.
Animals can feel our energy. They know who to be friendly with and who to eat.

I wish you had been more factual than comically, it's a good giggle but I bet the story behind these scene is facinating
I was recently introduced to a wolf-malimute hybrid . he stood close to 6:feet on it's hind legs.
he was the most social animal I have ever met. he was literally the biggest lap dog I'd ever seen it was at a family members home and there were 6: other dogs there some very high strung but this guy went and greeted each person then went back to it's owner and tried to sit on her lap
of that group of dogs the only other remotely friendly one was a pitbull. but because of the reputation of pitbulls people missinturpited it's behavior. she liked to fake people by the hand as they walked.
she never injured anyone but she scared the shit out of many people myself included until I realized that her behavior wasn't anything more than being super social
He must be cute

I’ve seen a few short videos on Cheetahs before. They vocalize like any, common house cat. So effin cute 🥰!!!
@@des4719 no they can kill us if they really wanted.

I didn't miss that fact that the Lady kicked that wolf, that was locked on her arm. They are WILD Animals, why are humans trying to handle them.
