  • After numerous obstacles, setbacks and unknowns we finally reached the summit of Mont Blanc on our second attempt. Somehow our dreams of filming everything got left behind at about the altitude you could breath normally. Climbing endlessly up in the dark, freezing, oxygen-depleted atmosphere above 12,000 feet made even the simplest things like pressing the record button on the Gopro seem like too much effort. For this reason we missed some of the most spectacular and dramatic moments, such as Myles disappearing into a crevasse. Still, I hope it gives a taste of the awesomeness, terror and grandeur of summiting Europe's highest peak.

Some of the best footage I have seen. Hardly anything covers the descent. Have you got anything showing the descent down to the coulior? How easy/hard was it? Thanks for posting!

Congratulations guys! Good job & Nice video!
I did solo on July 13, 2022. It was a fun hike! From Nid d'Aigle 2372 m to Mont Blanc summit 4808 m and back to Chamonix.
In the future, I'd like to hike from Les Houches to the summit and back to Les Houches.😀

Did you need a refuge/hotel reservation? Thanks.

Yes. We booked through a guide... Chamonix Experience (chamex.com). They were excellent. Our guide had climbed Mont Blanc over 100 times.

Thanks, and good luck! We used a GoPro 10. Had all intentions of filming more but all that went out the window during our summit push. Our guide was in high gear and we were in survival mode :P

… but it‘s NOT the highest peak of europe … even of the alps.
The highest peak of europe is Mount Elbrus😉

Thanks, and you're right. But Mont Blanc is the highest peak in the alps and anywhere Europe except Russia. At the moment travelling to Russia isn't an option for many people.
