Love to understand what filmmakers can take away from this. The term 'indie' filmmaker is deemed as someone not making money. How can a filmmaker therefore own the means of operation and successfully navigate all means of both the Production and Distribution?

I don't think blockchain would remove the need for auditing. It would enable immutable contracts yet, but auditing the company's figures would still be required to make sure the contracts are being honored accurately.

Ppl want the accolades ppl want the awards and the acceptance you get from being in the major label system. I doubt that will ever change. Plus, expecting everyone to be on point with their business is unrealistic. Of course now that we’re having these convos more artists will be self sufficient. Major labels just need to give better contracts. Contracts are horrible.

How do you go about claiming that money that is floating in the void? Mechanical royalties, etc. I’m aware of what they are but just have a hard time understanding how it all functions
Make sure ur collecting all ur royalties through your distribution company and then make sure ur collecting everything else . ( ASCAP/BMI , Songtrust , Soundexchange )

Some artists needs Productions co, Full Force wrote 2 great Albums for Lisa Lisa_ JimmyJam&Terry Lewis Alexander and Cherrelle. Mariah Carey,Alicia Keys R great writers_co producer's. Whitney Houston & Diana Ross are great singers that need great song writers! That's how Motown was built.
My artist was released over 300 songs

U know its a problem when currensy has released 3 albums in 6 weeks all quality meanwhile if u sign to tde u can omly release one project every 5 years. Insane and also u see people like kota the friend or marlon craft make low budget videos standing outside meanwhile all these rappers think they need a label and big money and tons of nonsense in videos but thats cuz they dont have lyricism so they need fall back on gimmicks.
