"If you shoot with your thumb you'll never be a consistent shooter "
Ray Allen and Stephen Curry: " relax bro"
Alessandro Melosi kyrie*
Alessandro Melosi What an idiot. Steph and Allen never uses thumb. Watch it in slomo Dumbass
They do though, do your research
@@JasonBrand79 dont speak to this dummy
Rin Hach you’re a fucking dumbass, they do use their thumbs lmao
“If you shoot with your thumb you will never be a consistent shooter”
Steph curry probably twitched
P3nois III he was talking about your shooting hand not the guide hand
Polotooraw he shows the guide hand you can replay hundred times he is right handed
I love your NBA star
1.Ball on fingertips
2.Elbow under the ball
3.Don't use guide hand
4.Good leg base
5.Hold follow through
Stephen curry arguably the best shooter in the NBA moves his thumb, I think Kyrie Irving does it too.
1:08 I think that's what you were referring to, but instead u said "don't use your guide hand" either way as long as you make those shots keep doing what u do
+Tiara48z that's true but curry also practices it way more than them
+Tiara48z and he uses his thumb enough for it to not to mess up his rotation
+Miles Heckstall gotta
"Im with two of the greatest shooter of the world"
-Ok
"Klay thompson"
-Yeah, he is
"And ryan anderson"
-Wtf who???
In 5 years alot has changed
Ryan had a massive neck injury. But at one point he was a super lethal
Fax
Dog Ryan Anderson can fill it up don’t get it twisted
Dude was a killer. Look him up
Steph curry shots with his thumb. I thought it was a problem because i do it, but steph does it as well, and he is as consistent as anybody.
That is absolutely not true. No great shooters shoot with both hands.
tamicha1 He phrased it a bit badly, steph curry uses the thumb on his off hand to flick the ball. Of course, 99% of the power comes from his right arm, but his left hand also propels the ball a little bit.
tamicha1 ray allen uses his off hand. Its clear in slowmo videos
The guide hand thumb helps curry with accuracy and the slightest amount of power. Kylie used it for power and even Danny green
@@tamicha1 shut up.
kyrie shoots with thumb. consistent shooter lol
Michael he practiced his whole life like that its easier to not use thumb
Michael and curry
curry uses thumb too
are u kryie hes talking to the people learning how to shoot idiot
I love your NBA star.
I want to join you
Honestly, I don't think it's that big of a deal if the ball is resting on your palm. Stephen Curry does it and the players in this video do it as well. I think the important thing is that you make sure you release it off your fingertips. Let the ball flick or slide off your finger tips as you release.
+Eric Kotter steph curry mentioned in a tips and tricks vid not to shoot when the ball is laying in the palm.
Harrison Pao he mentions that but does it anyway.. there is a video breaking that down.
Curry uses his thumb and hes arguably the greatest shooter of all time. It can be tought that way but when you are in the heat of the moment you do what's most comfortable for you.
OMG, yes. Couldn't have said it better.
Not arguably, he is indeed.
@@hueyfreeman1178 couldn’t have said it better myself
You should've had both of the splash bros on the show :)
Max Breuer lol
I knew it was klay when i saw him
"If you shoot with your thumb you will never be a consistent shooter"
Stephen curry : Hold my jump shot
Hold my jumpshot*
1:13 if you shoot with your thumb you will NEVER be a consistent shooter
Steph curry , Ray Allen , Kyrie Irving: dude relax
Kyrie Irving shots with his thumb and Explain how he won the 3 pointer contest
Doesn't mean it is a fundamentally sounded technique.
You Can Make Any Shot Work For You If You Practice Enough
tell me how kyrie s shots are not consistent...
@@timmy480 but having bad mechanics makes it harder to become consistent and you have to practice more
It's just what's comfortable to you, that coach is only gonna broke your shot bro.
Look at kobe and how he uses his index finger. look at mj and how he uses his index finger. It helps a lot
I agree. If you really want to become a good shooter, you should go over to pro shot
Agreed. Players like Stephen curry and Kevin durant use this middle finger.
***** kobes hands r jst d average size
Dey both hav same height bt MJs got much bigger hands !!
Nice video, keep them coming.
Is nice to learn the basic techniques and tips for warm ups and workouts.
When U.S.A Team has the worst team saying
Ryan Is the best shooter
Klay: *Stephen curry*
Lil Klay Thompson
I love these videos. I've been practicing these tips. Please keep em coming! Great stuff
Thanks a lot recently my shooting went downfall but these drills helped me realize what the problem was, it was my guide hand that was sabotaging the ball trajectory..
That’s funny you say never be a consistent shooter but Stephen curry does it and Kyrie 🤣 but thumb flick is not for most people
Follow through. Always expect the ball to go in.
I would say finger pads is more accurate than finger tips....just in case you're teaching youngsters who take you too literally. :)
Kyrie irving shoots with his thumb and he's a good shooter
He doesn't really, it's just a habit. He moves his thumb after the ball has released.
My main man Klay Thompson
As specialist, I do think Spovelax Training Program is good way to improve your skillsWhy don't you give it a chance? perhaps it can work for you too.
stephen curry shoots with his thumb and he’s a consistent shooter, you’re wrong lmao
Excemptions to the rule vs fundamental
Not gonna lie he sound like Phil Swift
play thompson like👁👄👁
"If you get Carmelo to help you with this you'd become a spot up prescision shooter in no time" - 💀
Ball is not on my palm, it's on my fingertips? Egads man. Telll Curry that....heck, watch Klay at the 55 second mark. Coaches.... sigh.....
The thumb flick is actually an okay thing as long as your percentage goes up
Curry uses a thumb flick
Jesus loves you guys 😄
Anyone else ass at shooting?
Who is ryan Anderson?.
Follow-through is a load of bullshit. After you let go of the ball, all the forces are already applied to it and no matter how you twist and turn, it will not affect its trajectory (since you don't fucking have telekinetic powers).
THINKING of the follow-through during the shot however can make you softly alter your movement right before you let go of the ball, which can help.
Dear Coach Cal,
KYRIE IRVING USES HIS THUMB
WATCH HIM SHOOT ITS ALWAYS THERE
Why isn't Steph in here?
“2 of the greatest shooters in the world” then where’s curry?
that’s not what that means
Reading the comment column, i think many people didn't realize that this video was from 2014...
In this world? Then wheres stephen curry?
dexter kelley god your an idiot ya they can get every good shooter in the world dumbass
It's all about preference and comfort, fundamentals are important but don't let it be an excuse for you to totally change your form. Minor tweaks may be enough.
Rip english
Kyrie Irving shoots with his thumb, that’s a big misconception about shooting
I read a lot of great reviews on the net about how Spovelax Training Program (just google search it) can help you to improve your skills, has anyone tried using this popular popular training course?
'If you shoot with your thump you will never be a consistent shooter'
-Steph fuckin Curry laughing at you
Its cringe how this guy talks 😂 actin like he know it all, but then Steph and Ray show up and drop 100 on him, all threes 😂
My thumb on my guide hand flicks after I release the ball. Does this count?
Thanks
Go watch ilovebasketballtv if you actually want to get better at shooting
“2 of the greatest shooters in the world” then where’s curry?
Yz CHim this was 5 years ago Ryan Anderson was of the best shooters in that time area
I'm a Kentucky all day fan and it's nice seeing John calm
Especially after last season...
Ciao io sono Ella e guardò questi video perché pratico il basket e quindi mi aiuta per migliorare grazie ciao.
Warriors only 💙💛
God loves y’all and Jesus Christ is coming soon and repent to Christ Jesus
Biggie cheese approves of this video 👍
Steph uses his thumb tho
K Dazee Explains why Klay is more consistent
Klay is more consistent because he has the proper mechanics
I've been shooting with my palm
Me with my small hands struggling to balance the ball on my finger tips:
Did you ever watched Curry, i mean he uses his thumb to shoot.
What? He uses all four fingers. the thing is He turns his feet and has a different landing every time but he gets away with that
+Nedeljko Zdero Yea, I've watched Stephen Curry slow motion videos as well, and I've watched the guide hand thumb. He doesn't bend it till slightly after the release, so he's not really using it in the force of the shot at all. It's just a follow through motion.
Wait RYAN ANDERSON is it he a monster jam driver
Klayy😎❤️
For tip 2, i just gatta argue qith thaw this tips is very inconsistent and dangerous. Stephen curry, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller and Kyrie Irving shoots Outstanding in the 3 point line with a thumb flick its not about hoa you position your hand its about how you feel comfortabke and practice doing that in ever part of the court.... SALUTE TO ALL THUMB FLICKERS HERE PLS LEAVE A LIKE
Check this out, insane half court shot: ruclips.net/video/AOZGf8JHXpc/видео.html
excellent video! cant wait to start working on my game
they chose the players who don’t use thumb flick
why dont you use steph curry for this...
2 greatest 3 point shooters in the world, klay and RYAN ANDERSON
What coaches don’t tell you:
YOU SHOULDNT HAVE A GAP AND YOU SHOULD SHOOT WITH YOUR PALM (your whole hand on the basketball)
Ball RISES first, THEN BODY RISES
This app is good
WHAT LOL
Steph has a thumb flick on his guide hand lol
Steph Curry Says he shoots off his fingertips but it looks like he shoots off his palm...
I think it's effective using your thumb if you're a right handed running from the left direction and shoot because of your feet position, but if you running from right direction for me the no thumb is effective but that's me.
No you're wrong about the tum flict
Hand into basket in follow through
Elbow in
Ball on fingertips
Guide hand keeps ball on line without moving it
Aim for back of rim and adjust from there
Trajectory
This Video was uploaded 6 years ago and I have a regret I haven't watch this before. FUNDAMENTAL!
Stop saying ball on your fingertips
Thanx Coach I’mma drop 50 points today
Kyrie shoots with a bit of thumb
Release ball at the top of your full arm extension. Your two fingers next to your thumb, push the ball upward on release. Try to keep ball in your fingers all the way to the top of your release. No flipping the ball. Good shooters aren’t forcing the ball with their hand. Best descriptions of shooting a ball ( Upside down Waterfall). (Dominos falling upward). Use your legs & toes, feet , knees to generate power. On the release you are dropping the ball above the rim into the net.
Bruh I haven't played in 2 year and now I'm doing high school soooo now I need to do sum and I've always lik basket so hopefully this helps
all the power comes from the armpit hair.
IMO it's ok to shoot with your thumb. As long as you shoot mainly with your index and/or middle finger.
Klay looks like he just wants to go home
all these thumb comments, i dont think its necessary for extra power and i wouldnt say steph and kyrie use it its just how it comes out of there guide hands. i'd say power comes from the legs, using your legs to shoot as klay was saying. a good shot feels effortless or soft out of the hands not 'pushed' but 'released'
Only clicked because of Coach Cal. Lets go BBN
People at my school call me Ryan anderson
cool story bro
No one cares dude
Chris Paul thumb flick
Yea curry and jlay Wolud be better
aye curry thumb sometimes. thumbing is neither be fixed nor necessarily taught.
Who cares about Steph. Klay saved GSW in game 6 of the WCF by catching fire.
They're both good!
nigga said ryan anderson im weakened
ok and? i didnt ask
👍
Lillard Steph Ray Allen and Reggie Miller all use their thumbs tho
I would love to post an instructional video with these two as my students. Anyone could look real fucking smart 😂
Damn, Klay and those Flyknit Chukkas...
kyrie irving shoot with his thumb my cousin shoot with his and they both are good jump shooters
I'm sorry but for all the Steph curry haters you can't deny that he is a great shooter and at least should be on this video
both shooters have their palms on the ball. I guess they have no shot...
he's talking about the guide hand must barely touch the ball. What's the point of a guide hand when it's not going to guide your shot?
I don't know how you guys define yourselves. But I know I am not talented as those legendary shooters. Maybe they can get it in anyway with or without their thumbs, but for me, I would like to learn a fundamental way. Statistically, I believe Coach Cal will be more correct than you, unless you ARE Curry.
You gotta try it out though, practice and maybe you'll become twice as better at shooting
A lot of great shooters use the thumb on there guide hand to shoot
Dude your not going to get anywhere in life if you believe what you want to believe
No shit dumbass. I've watched the mechanics of great shooters. A lot use their thumbs..I play division 1 basketball btw at Wagner st. in ny
Flex Forem what does you playing division one basketball have to do with anything about shooting. And what shooters are you talking about
What doesn't it have to do with division 1 basketball you idiot. Strongest part of my game is shooting. Big reason why I made it to D1. Steph curry uses his thumb. Look up vids of him shooting
I will. What I was saying is that anybody can play for a team but not everybody can get in the rotation
