    Thank you. Just bought this and couldn’t figure out how to remove that inset back plate, until you mentioned the front screw that holds it on. Funny, the instructions state “Don’t remove this screw.”

    • @FletchyDog
      @FletchyDog 11 месяцев назад

      The instructions aren't too clear. They mean that it's "captive"....once you unscrew it all the way, it is still held in place on the light assembly. The instructions mean don't try to remove it from the light assembly once you have unscrewed it all the way. It's designed to stay in place so it's easy to get it mounted to the base plate cause the screw is still in position (captive) on the light assembly.

    First, locate and turn off the breaker (it will probably be for several items, not just any particular light fixture). Second, turn off the switch in the house and tape it as advised. The only other thing I'd suggest is to install the ground wire first, then the neutral and hot.
    I know this is a three year old vid, and it is well done in general, but just had to mention the above.

I've adjusted the "Sensitivity" knob and positioned the sensor ball to all possible locations, but the unit only detects motion within about 15 feet, in an arch of about 90°. Will be taking it back to the retailer (Home Depot) to exchange for a different model.

    I have this same light on a new construction. I flipped the switch quickly to get them to stay "on" until I turned them off for the front lights and the rear ones, which are on separate switches. To reset them, I did the "on/off" four times, then off for 5-7 seconds, and then back on. This leaves the lights off until motion activated. This worked for the back yard lights, but I cannot get the front ones to turn off without turning the switch off. I have tried numerous "on/off" quantities and number of times. Is there any other way to reset these? Thanks.

      Check the knobs on the unit you could still be in test mode. If not turn the dial to how many minutes you’d like it to stay on I think up to 10 minutes. Also check the sensitivity knob. If you want it to stay on flip the switch off for half a second then turn back on it should set it to permanently on until you flip the switch to off. Sometimes it takes a few tries for that feature. If all fails then try resetting unit. Flip the light switch on and off 4 times then leave off for 5 min. That should reset unit. Good luck

    • @HighRidgeHandyman
      @HighRidgeHandyman  Год назад +2

      Did it ever go off since you first installed it? If so someone must have flipped the switch inside a few times to activate the stay on feature. Try turning off switch for 10 min then just flip the switch on and see if it stays on or goes out after a few min. If it turns off in ten min or so it’s reset. If it stays on then you need to adjust the - sensitivity little dial on the fixture.
      Also sometimes if you have a lighting storm or power surge you can damage the sensor altogether which means total replacement for this particular fixture. Good luck👍🏻

      If you have thicker gauge wire on an older house take 14/2 wire and just pigtail ends and use the smaller gauge wire so you can fit the screw in place. Tuck the old wire connected to new tails inside box. Then feed the smaller gauge wire into front light connection point. Much easier to work with. Then you should be able to connect that screw securely. Good luck
