Personally, I don’t let anyone dictate my speed, if another bike comes up behind going quicker than me I simply move to the left and wave them past. Undercover police vehicles have been thing for a long time, they’re using HGVs, cars, and bikes. Sorry to say, but your friend is at fault here for letting someone else dictate how they are riding.
Yeap I get ya
I was about to write a virtually identical reply to yours Alan, so I have just liked your comment. If he was done for doing 44 mph in a 40 mph limit, I might have a bit more sympathy but 55? No.
I would not stop for an unmarked car or motorcycle,I’m from the north of England and we are always being followed by thieves trying to nick your vehicles.
Presumably it would have had concealed blue lights, so running away would not have been wise.
Yes we can’t move up here for all the thieves riding solo on S1000s
well,u r in north, these r in cornwall no crime see.
My car was brand new, parked in Halifax, 4 hours old.
The dumb ass traffic warden checked it for road tax, not thinking the taxation was being processed at DVLA and issued a ticket.
In his enthusiasm he put the wrong date on it, the 6th of the 4th, not the 4th of the 6th.
I contacted DVLA And told them to pursue Land Rover Ltd where the car was probably on the production lane at that date.
No action taken, wonder if the traffic warden ever had a cognitive aptitude test before being employed ?
Ha !!Ohh dear! still worked out OK for you is the main thing
American?
I just hope they put as much effort into the scooters I see flying around actually on the main road doing 30-40mph, No licence no insurance, nothing. Does sound like he was pressured a little, But good to know if your followed for a short while just let them pass if they want to go over the limit. Ride your own ride.
It's the dealers on £5k suron's belting around wearing balaclavas this neck of the woods.
it's the preferred distribution and getaway vehicle for a reason but the police genuinely couldn't care less, they'd sooner pick the easy targets on sunny days on the popular roads to pump their statistics.
If your friend chose to go over the limit and got caught I cant see what there is to complain about.
law is the law i guess
That wasn't the question. Unmarked police motorcycles was the question. Presumably he was wearing a police uniform otherwise you are not obliged to stop for questioning.
@@canturgan I'm not sure how it works
don't be stupid , he was deliberately provoked by some asshole copper
A few points that might surprise you. Up here we have the odd unmarked bike. The old bill take it to spots and show it to us lot. There used to be a VFR 1200. Its plate ended in VFR! Everyone complained about money being wasted-it just came with that plate 😂.
There’s a couple of issues with the story. 1 the biker will have stood out like a sore thumb with their gear. It’s bloody obvious…if you use your mirrors… 2. If the bike has caught the PCs eye they’ll do a few checks. They’ll need to be close to go through the details and be ready for a possibility of needing an urgent stop. They’re also possibly going to be discussing the riders description so they want a look at as much as they can while the control room do their stuff.
You ride your ride. They ride theirs. If you choose to accelerate away having had a good look at the muppet behind you in a plain white helmet then you’re going to get pulled. What the PC is thinking is “ do they have a reason e.g. have they just been doing a crime? Are they carrying something?” “Are they just not paying attention?” Like you say too many crimes are not detected. Vehicles on roads are the conduit for committing crimes. But when something is done people cry foul. As for being sneaky, I’d suggest people think…. If you only obey a limit because you’re actually being watched then the problem is your attitude. You’re being sneaky so you’re forcing enforcement down the same path. Except you’re trying to have fun. They’re having to pick up the pieces and waste time dealing with complaints about…speeding cars and bikes.
Historically from experience local neighbourhood police get two main complaints. Dog mess and speeding cars. With everything else going on it’s rather “surprising”.
I’m waffling on but the biggest takeaway from your video should be to be much more observant. Just think what else you’re missing…
Haven’t seen the local one recently but I think it’s a BMW R/S in black. Bristles with cameras and lights but the giveaway is the rider. It’s obvious. I know they take it out to show off to bikers At cafes during the summer
Exactly. Well put. I had 3 points back in 97 and nothing for fifteen years. Then I got six points in a week going past a red light camera that had been changed to being a speed camera too. On a thirty tha had been a forty for many years. I was slowing but didn’t take the start of the new limit seriously and got caught twice in a week. I now do the limit and don’t pinch a bit any more. It’s less stressful and ultimately doesn’t slow you down. And I’ve never been goaded into going faster than I want by anyone. Happy to see the rear plate of the idiots. This fellow needs to be more aware, as you say.
What a refreshingly well thought out comment CYL. Too many angry people on here who will probably never work out why they attract unwanted attention.
@@paulstredwick thanks
@@highdownmartin it doesn’t stop us feeling down when we get caught though! That’s been a real pain for you
Thus sounds a but sneaky by the Police. Surely to be done for speeding you need to be captured by a calibrated device that records speed as well as photographic evidence. If this happened to me I'd have probably contested this and put my side of it over to the court and take my chances.
Also because thd toilets are shut, I'd probably have a shyte in the planters. At least there would be some leafs off the plants to wipe your arse!
They are calibrated. Speedos. It does affect what bikes the Police can buy as some can’t be changed. It’s funny having 2 speeds showing because the bike’s electronics won’t accept the accurate Speedo reading for the ECU to work. Also having a calibrated speedo means you appear to be speeding to people around you!!!
My advice is ask the questions but if you then still decide to go to court, make sure your wallet is full. It won’t be at the end. You’ll be worse off. Usually by a lot…
well, u se ya a biker;u wudnt win.
The unmarked bikes calibrated device is there Speedo, that's why police bikes have a police special Speedo.

Rotten luck for your mate. Plenty of unmarked cars out there nabbing speeding motorists on the A30
Yes and m40 London to Oxford! Police told me that’s where they test! A lot of unmarked police vehicles cars and motorcycles
Unmarked or not they wouldn't get done if they weren't speeding.
The UK police have the same morals as the staff employed on Epp-stien Island. They often show us their ethics to back this up, for example Hillsborough and Orgreave. If there were any 'straight' coppers there wouldn't be any bent ones would there.
I see a number of commenters here suggesting that they would never speed. That's either naivety or false piousness. Riding in London everyday I constantly have to be on the lookout for red light jumpers, rear enders and loads of little bike jacking thugs. If I want to keep my bike I have and will speed and brake other laws to keep my bike, as I know I'm on my own and the police will do sweet FA.
I also think the rider who accepted the invoice from this 'friendly' officer made a 2nd mistake in being fooled by the officers surface friendliness. This is a standard tactic used to gain further evidence. They are never ever your friends.
Really good post that . It got me thinking and yes I'm starting to turn around to you're thinking there.
@@exeterrider Thank you
nope not police bikers nasty
In this country the Police fixation with motoring offences is bonkers. Police riders only have one speed, fast, they would call it "rapid riding". Point being, anyone coming up fast, assume it's a copper and let them go by.
As an aside, the way to tell a cop car is to check out the regular shark-fin aerial, it will have a second black aerial attached.
Good point there!
Caught for speeding....fair enough.
Question is, why is that road 40mph. Personally, I think many roads have a lower-than-necessary speed limit?
I agree 100%, it's quite a short road to the roundabout so I guess thats why
@davidfoster9890 Plenty of dual carriageways near me are 30/40mph, often monitored by speed cameras / average speed cameras. Just sayin....👍 Lots of roads in Wales in towns (not near me🤣) 20mph....🙁
I agree, near me is an urban part of the M621 and that road as it is passing south Leeds with 3 lanes is 40 mph and has been for ages, with little to no reason, OK they were do some road work months ago or may be even last year but seriously 🤷🏻♂️
Speed limits are low so they can give you higher fines. It's all about the money.
@@davidfoster9890 The Westway in west London is a six lane carriageway and the speed limit is 30 mph. Ridiculous and dangerous because drivers doze off.
Abouts the toilets - thats just more madness! No council is doing a good job, capability and popularity are two different things - i wouldn't want the popular kid in charge of anything important! Rather someone who is qualified and capable. Why is it ok with councillors then?! Speeding, if your caught your caught, no way out. But having someone put pressure on you and you speed up and get booked is crappy 😢 got a fine years ago, red light at a roadworks wouldn't change and no traffic, so after almost 10 mins i just went and copper waiting on other side to fine me. Was a scam for the plods xmas party! (In south America)
When any bike (or car for that matter) catches up to me but then slows down Im very suspicious. To the point where I'll just stop and see what they do.
However, as I'm from the north east, if it's two charvas on a scooter, its bye bye 👋🏻💨
One problem you'll never have on the Meteor... mind you, you parked on a double yellow at the end 😉. Sadly, that was a fair cop in my book. I saw that XR at last year's bike festival in Cornwall. Wicked Bike.
You're allowed to park on double yellows if you're filming ....as you say the Meteor will save my bacon : )
I've been done for speeding on bikes since the early 70's. Never had a problem, put my hands up and accept it. I only wish we had more police on the roads today dealing with bad drivers on bikes and cars. And more police on the streets dealing with the knife crime, shop lifting and all the other crap that goes on now.
How was he pushed into speeding? He was on a Dual Carriageway! No way he was holding anyone up. This story if very fishy to me.
That was a really lovely Parklet. Love it. Nice flowers. Almost London standard, that.
It’s just all about the observations or total lack of….😉
Agreed, dual carriageway so just stick to your lane.........
Ignore what's behind you unless it's affecting you.
I was caught jumping a red light by an unmarked car right behind me.... it's a fair cop, no argument!
@@craigyllyn Absolutely.......
I've done it myself when a biker appears beside you, gives you a nod and zooms off.
Game on.😁😁
But to suggest you are suckered into speeding by a bike sat behind you on a dual carriageway.
Nahh, most likely scenario was biker is caught speeding by police bike who comes up behind to check him out.
Game over. 😐😐
Agree about the unmarked bike, sneaky and probably not the first time he's egged someone on.
If you think those flowers are a waste of money, you ought to eee the "art" that Weymouth got just before the Olympics. 🤔

The police have to issue a Notice of Intended Prosecution within 10 or 14 days unless things have changed
Not if it’s done verbally at the time

@@Maverick-moto NIPs are not related to this type of incident. You’ll be thinking of camera vans. Then there’s some leeway too. But. Even with a camera there’s scope for the limitations to be removed depending on the driver/rider actions. Remember that there’s more than just speed sometimes involved
How did the police prove he was speeding? Did they have radar? If somebody was chasing me on a motorbike I would speed up and definitely wouldn't stop.
@@canturgan then get a whole heap of other offences. because you will stop. Eventually. One way or another 😂
It sounded like the copper was having to speed upto him in the first place. I assume tho that there are no average speed cameras there which is why that tactic was used. I've heard of this type of thing in the 80's.

True that! Yes, youth is wasted on the young! Very pretty sights indeed!
On the subject of speeding, I know someone who got caught bang to rights well over the speed limit, he got a fine and 6 points. The best part, it didn't affect his insurance premium at all when he renewed. I had my bike attempted theft (they didn't get the bike but there was a lot of damage in the process) and my premium went through the roof. Fair? I think not.
We should have meet ups at that seating area, little bike meets once a week for jolly fun playing chess draughts and gardening tips 😂😂😂

IN New Zealand they have done that for many years both cars and bikes
You know I'm not from UK and may have different view. As you said it it's very conflicting situation. My personnel opinion is that he should pull more to the left and let him pass. It's happening to me with the small scooter all the time, never had a problem with that. On the other hand the fuzz seams to push him in a bad way. But you said it right, there are dangerous and violent criminals out there but they go after ordinary common folk.
This happened to a friend of mine a few years ago.
He was riding in a 40 (he said at the apeed limit) with an unmarked car right up his back wheel. So he accelerated to increase the distance then slowed back to 40 car caught up and sat on hia arse again so again he accelereted then slowed to create a buffer. He said he did this 3 or 4 times before the police put the blues on and pulled him over. He got a fine for speeding and undue care and attention because he keept speeding up and slowing down.
Does feel a bit like entrapment.
The best way to deal with tailgaters is just to slowly decrease your speed
This increase your stopping distance from the car in front so you dont have to harshly break if they do, so they tailgater are less likely in turn to hit you. Amd as you decreased your speed they will more then likely overtake
“Red Meteor spotted repeatedly lapping Exeter University!! Students unnerved!” 😉
Agree on wasted money on planters 100%
Unmarked copper could have had “the chat,” gained some goodwill. Instead he chose to book the lad which then breeds anger and resentment. Can’t deny he was speeding though. Very often it’s the way these things are handled 🤷♂️
Yeap, the "chat" would have done the same job with no money lost
Hi there Steve. Exmouth is looking a bit different to how I remember it. I guess that's just progress, eh ?
Anyway, with regard to undercover road policing, be that with cars or bikes, I do find that to be a little bit sneaky.
Apparently they've just started introducing unmarked police motorcycles in Spain, so something for me to look out for, should I ever make it down there someday.
Using unmarked vehicles is sneaky and I don't like it. But, at the same time, if you're not speeding, you've got nothing to worry about.
I think most of us try to stick to the speed limits, well I certainly do. But of course, there are always sections where you are never quite sure how fast you are allowed to go and it is possible to get caught out occasionally. I think it's just something you have to accept as a possibility. It's really hard to be doing the legal limit all of the time and if you get unlucky you could get pulled over.
I don't worry about it personally. I know that I am not a serial speeder, so if it happens, it happens. But it's not likely to happen too often.
Lovely to see you out and about around Exmouth on the Meteor Steve. Suits you sir !
Off camera I am sure that you popped into that speciality shop on Sidwell Street to peruse their extensive selection of niche leatherwear 🤗
Nice rant at the parklet too Steve. Give 'em hell ! 😂 If they've closed the toilets, I suppose the parklet will have to serve a new purpose 😇
Take care young man and much love to you and the Exmouth crew,,
Malcolm and Doreen in France ❤🐕
I think the parklet has already been used as a toilet judging by the smell lol
I thought the purpose of unmarked police vehicles was to go unnoticed for surveillance purposes or for detective use .
If the purpose is preventing crime marked police vehicles is what should be used otherwise it sounds like a revenue gathering scheme.
Truly undercover bikes exist. They’re never going to stop a simple speeder. You’ll never notice them.
The unmarked bikes like ER referred to are actually obvious. Just that muppets will even overtake them despite them having POLICE on their helmets!
That’s also actually “ detecting crime “ when prevention fails, detection kicks in.
Unmarked police vehicles are pretty common in my neck of the woods. Pretty crumby way to get caught but these days if I feel pressured from someone behind me I slow down and let them pass working on the basis I'd rather have someone I have concerns about in front where I can see what they're up to.
Yes I agree, although it seems he was waiting for him to to go out to the second lane but didn't
Entrapment is what i immediately thought mate, but watched it back again just to be certain & right from the start obviously! 😵💫🤣👍

In my area cops ride bmw motorcycles. And due to their training, they sit a certain way on the bike while riding. If you’re aware and attentive, you’ll know one when you see one.
Good point
I’ve been caught twice in the last 4 years both got awareness courses. It was my fault no one else’s and your friend should accept it. Ride your own ride.don’t let anyone else distract you. Unmarked bikes have been in use for many years round my way.

He should have made a complaint straight away
He still did the crime though so open shut case
well, i guess its better then video ticket. i very much hate those, that 2 months after the fact, you get a ticket in the mail for 50 dollars for not stopping at the solid white line before a stop sign or light. lol
Hi mate just found your channel after the Benelli 502 vid. I'm local to Exeter so you caught my eye! I'm looking to start riding in the next year or so and weighing up options, considering these are the roads I'll be on, do you have any recommendations for a starter bike? I'm not sure if the normal sport bikes would apply as we're down country lanes, any help appreciated
Anything that can stand up to the rigours of potholes, trenches, sunken manhole covers, and rutted surfaces where the loose chippings have partly disappeared from. Perhaps a motorcycle designed for the military.
Back to Scramblers style or GSs is the only way it seems ha!
The dual carriage way road did not look like it should have restricted to 40mph, it looks like it should have been at national limit
agreed
I got done going over a 30 limit outside a school...OK sounds bad!!! BUT the time was 3.05 am ,,and I was going 35mph.. It cost me £90 speed awareness course fee ( thats a farce!!!) I just think it was unreasonable at that speed at that time...
yes at 3.05 the hazards are VERY low!
@lipsee100 Now that is rediculous. On the other hand, you won't do it again 😉
There are a fair few unmarked bikes around the country along with the cars. There’s not much to say here was caught bang to rights no matter what the circumstances. I’m not a fan of this type of policing but it would be a bit like saying it’s not fair I was just robbing a bank but the police were waiting in plain clothes I should be able to recognise them so I don’t get caught. I learned a while ago keep to or near to the speed limit and if a black car, usually a BMW pulls up behind and just sits there it might just be an unmarked police car.
As a car driver and biker it’s just the way it is ,there’s lots of long duel carriage ways near me that don’t have cameras but have unmarked cop cars pulling people over .at least on a bike you’ve less chance of getting a ticket due to no front number plate ,there does seem to be a purge on motorists all over this last year or two

Friends hubby over took marked police cycle. The copper stopped him. Copper said what do i do you on, speeding or crossing solid white line..I think copper said he had no way proving speeding, no equipment, but crossing the white line overtaking he could. Think fine.
The benefit of a Royal Enfield or BSA, they are bikes capable of exceeding the speed limit but you dont feel like riding fast on these bikes. Id be annoyed at myself in that situation, UK life resembles a game to not let them 'get' you in many aspects. If you are late paying tax you get fined whereas if they under pay you a rebate or whatever no extra money your way. Parking is the same if you dont plan your parking you end up paying £10/day when you only want to stay a short time! Insurance, if you fill in the wrong form or use comparison sites too much they will refuse or cancel your insurance increasing your premiums. Probably many more examples...
Quite right here " UK life resembles a game to not let them 'get' you in many aspects" Its a shame it's that way though. Us and them these days it seems. Thanks for watching.

55 in a 40 is a bit extreme, but have your mate go to traffic court and he can explain the situation to the magistrate. Speeding up just since someone is pushing you is a rookie move, but it’s worth an argument of explanation in traffic court.
Well the crime has been done, so its a open shut case.
If it’s a rookie move, then it’s you basically explaining that you need further training if that’s your defence. We’ve all sped, and we’ve all been caught. What this person decides to do in the future is up to him. My suggestion is do 40 in a forty. And have a bit of fun somewhere sensible, when you haven’t got a vehicle you don don’t know right behind you
It's quite simple, if you don't break the law, you don't have to worry about getting caught.
Yeap agreed

I could give you a full run down, every bike that seemed to tick the boxes, were a little lacking (like transalp (Tubed tyres and no cruise) you know what I am saying, but after going through all this, my wife said FFS, maybe you need 2 bikes! Tried the Honda NX500 and wasnt impressed, could get near a 400x scrambler and forgot about the Himi, so still got testing to do.......... And you dared to get up earlier than me to test the CF
Catch 22 applies here; They can do anything you can’t stop them from doing.
Not sure how a vehicle following you would Judge your speed accurately. Do they have something other than their speedo to check the speed? You would expect any speed detecting instruments would need to calibrated.
Lovely bike sir, err did you park on a double yellow line Ha Ha. Police are a bit sneaky
Cheers malc, yes I'm living the bike, just want more time to play on it tbh.
We seem to be on the same page with this, the only aspect I don't like is the police bike came up behind him, to close, speeding?,
on a dual carriageway, if the other bike did that to me I would slow down,
to many berserk riders out there,
he must have been having a slow day,
needed to get a collar.
No such thing as a nice policeman,
my stepfather told me that when I was 14,
He was ex CID.
If you don't want to get caught don't speed.
If you speed, you take the risk of getting a ticket, or having a crash, simple as that. Any vehicle coming towards you or behind you could be the police. If you want to speed, do it on an isolated road in the country areas.
Yeap agreed 💯👍
One thing for sure is the roads around Exeter are in a bit of a state. Pot hole after pot hole on your ride! Like you say, priorities are wrong.
I really think so.
I was stopped and booked for speeding in my car in the 1970's by an unmarked MGBGT V8.
If its unmarked im not stoping, too many thieves around manchester for that !!
Umm what distracting were you having.. 🤣🤣
So, in terms of speeding I’d say it’s a fair cop!! I’ve certainly been doing 30 in a 30 limit before and you get a sense that the car behind is wanting me to to get a wiggle on. It’s a little un-nerving, but you have to stand your ground and stick to the limit. It’s an unfortunate situation, but I guess limits are limits…
Yeap that's it mate 👍
Strange, I previously left a comment thats probably been auto deleted by the RUclips Police bot for containing a trigger word!
Think I said something like your mate should have tried waving him by if he thought him too close. On the whole, I think the motorcycle police do a good job either marked or unmarked.
Yes, I guess at the time it happened he just wasn't in that mind space.
Things are bad these days, coppers pushing you to go faster is age old tactic,
Honestly the roads are a horrible place to be now, i gave up motorcycling 20 years ago as it was too dangerous and busy everywhere and kids came along, now thinking of getting in saddle but honestly not sure its worth the agro, i ride electric mountain bikes off road and it is a lot of fun and relaxing plus i get some exercise,
I miss the thrill of a motorbike and its ability to take me much further though...
State of pot holes etc in roads is another factor..
That would have been an embarrassing conversation if target fixation set in.
😂
Sir? Can you explain why you were on the curb?
I can understand why he felt he had to go faster , I question the way the police pressured him in a very underhanded way, why didn’t the police motorcyclist overtake him while he was doing the speed limit??
I expect he wasn't anyway
Plod are sneaky ! But if your caught speeding your fair game ! I’ve been riding bikes for over 50 years ! Never been caught out !
Save up for a track day if you want to speed about ! And it hurts when you run out of talent on the road, less chance of hitting something on a one way track ! Stay safe ! 😃👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Yes thats it mate the limit is the limit. Track day is something I'd really like to do.
Just had a Notice of Intended Prosecution for Speeding in Plymouth, 43mph in a 30mph, Thing is, I Sold the Bike 3 Months Ago to a Dealer and I even have the Slip from the DVLA to Indicate that I am no longer the Registered Keeper.
thats odd, Sounds like the dealer has mucked up!
@@MADTASS just tell them. Theyll sort it
@@craigyllyn E-Mailed a Copy of NIP and a Copy of the DVLA Document, i'm also a LGV Driver and on that Particular Day I was Reloading (2 Collections) in Sittingbourne, Kent to get me back to Cornwall after having a Night Out and that Info will be on my Drivers Digital Tacho Card so i'm not to Concerned, don't think the Dealer messed up because I have Both Notifications fron the DVLA.
Got done doing 62 in a 40
By speed trap van in notts on my bike, new rider but it was my own fault for not observing speed change from 60 to 40 coming into Notts. I owned up and got handed points and fine. Sometime its accidental but that is not an excuse they want to hear even if you were innocent. Better to just ride slow and take your time but be aware, people will tail gate you, try to brush you, swear at you and block you or youll risk losing your license and handed a ban if you try to ride faster.
agreed but all the chopping around and over complicated roads should be taken into account as well, they make it too easy to make a mistake often.
@@exeterrider they just ask to plead guilty or write for hearing? Not why did you do what you did? Id still be happy if they fined me after but at least ask? No room for mistakes when those vans and speed guns are about
@@sassythesasquatch4425 The last (and only) time I got a speeding ticket was in 1975, and the ticket had a section where you could plead guilty, but offer an explanation in mitigation. They had me bang to rights (52 in a 30), so I had no excuses. This was before points, so I got an endorsement and £20 fine (quite a lot of money to a 20 year old in those days). Taught me not to get caught, though.
Entrapment.......?
Well I don't think so TBH
Welp, here in the US we have unmarked police cruisers, so why not unmarked police motorcycles?
I used to ride bikes sadly can't now due to health issues and yes it's very, very easy to speed and I will put my y hand up and say yes I've done it but doing 55 in a 40 zone is pushing it a bit to much, unmarked police bike's no no no
Collecting revenue has been priority so quite some time
True!
this can be contested due to the behavior of the pursuit ,
Fair cop, stick to the limit.
I’m with you, absolutely. Guess all he can do is take his day in court and plea his case to the judge. Bullshit tactics for sure. I’ve heard rumors that there are quotas that need to be met.
I think that could have been the case here.
@@boblynch7535 nope. As quoted on TV by a met Commander. That would be corruption . End of.
They can’t get what isn’t there.
Crikey they've been about for yeats
Not sure where i sit with this one, Maybe being on a dual carriageway you could say there's not a lot of excuse if you know the limit? I'm not sure of matey's claim of being pressured, on a two lane road the police bike could have easily passed if he wished to do so. Possibly there was a bit of entrapment mixed into it but the limit wasn't a 'secret' either..... I won't point the finger though, the same could happen to any one of us tomorrow! I'm not totally on board with undercover bikes and cars but they have their place. We've all seen those to***rs on 2 wheels and 4 behaving like total idiots, TBF they wouldn't do stuff like that in front of a liveried police vehicle. Hopefully one day they'll pull their stunts in front of a plain one...... Exeter's Parklets will never get used as they are, If you notice, you cant sit without a bush or a plant on the back of your neck! Who even designs this cr*p?
It's a though provoking one for sure Ken.
I always move over and let idiots pass me 😂😂
🤣👍
I think that if you're speeding, you're speeding.
i had my own little bastard cop on a black bike, never ever ever ever ever trust one.
Which laws it is ‘fair’ to break and where is the line drawn?
Yeap I know what you mean 👍
Yes
I went for a ride on my gsx8s the other day and was overtaken by 2 bikers as if I was going backwards while I sat at 50mph limit. One guy on a bmw 1000xr and one on a 1250gs, the guy on the gs almost crashed head on into a lorry coming the other way, when I got to the next village about a mile away they had pulled over for a chat, the overtake was a risk not worth taking the rider on the gs could have been dead. Stick to speed limits and the police will have to look elsewhere for low hanging fruit as people call it.
Yeap true : )
Of course, not speeding is the answer.
He just wanted to give it a race, had there been two people on the cop bike then he could have feared he might get attacked and his bike was going to get nicked, why speed up otherwise ?? 🤔
Presumably the unmarked cop was looking out for all kinds of criminal activity. …..
Punish everyone and making a dual carriageway 40 is madness . I was boxed in on the M6 by driver speeding up slowing in between smart cameras feeling vulnerable and accident be in blind spots I pressed For few meter distance . Then get a speeding ticket 79 on a 70 motorway 😡
Then wonder why it’s looked as a attack on motorists which is most people.
School Prom probably ;)
Sounds a bit like entrapment.
I am not a fan of the tactics tbh
To be honest, I just try to stick within the speed limits, no matter ho I might feel about them, I now try a concentrate on making my ride out as best as possible, road observations, positions, awareness and getting my bike to be just in that zone…..I’ll let the fast boys and girls pass me by….each to their own, but speed limits are there for a reason…..unmarked bikes….mmm….unmarked police cars…..I had a bike behind me the other day, I felt harassed, so I just did my own ride…..the bike then sped past me…….his problem not mine…..I’ll just do my own legal ride…
Spot on Karl, nice one
I'd sympathise with the rider if he was in a car on a single lane governed by the national speed limit. It's just pure folly to exceed lower limits given the level of resources available to enforce them. We now even have community groups being given radar guns. Unmarked cars and bikes are nothing new and usually of a particular model and colour, now had the police bike bucked this trend, I'd sympathise.
Where I struggle is 20's, muscle memory, trained attention span and ride by wire throttles make it laborious. Your total concentration is on that Speedo and throttle/ accelerator control, whereas in 30's it's auto pilot mode and eyes on the road. Now as for " Nationals" I do like to make progress but real progress is kept for when I have an open road.
20s is quite exhausting TBH
@03:50 what does THIS PUN mean ???
Not sure myself, I'll have to re-visit
@@exeterrider Sorry. it was on the license plate of the car. in the video 😲
"I thought the person behind me wanted to go faster than the speed limit, so I broke the law."
It's not a very solid defence, is it?
I thought the old lady in the Post Office queue wanted me to rob the place, so... I robbed the place. It's not my fault. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sounds like "harassment" to me, and really unfair on an unmarked bike. I agree with you that a word from the copper would have been enough for speed enforcement surely? :>/
I think that would have done the job tbh as much as the points and fine did
TPTB, just seem to make up Laws, to suit themselves these days. Cheers, DINO.
I think he’d have a case for entrapment and intimidation against the copper, but I have to say, why didn’t he just slow down pull over and let the unmarked XR pass him, that’s what I do in such cases, whatever the vehicle doing the pushing.
As for stupid wasting money on putting planters and seating where nobody is going to use them and covering up parking and closing toilets. It’s crazy, then they say they can’t fund homeless projects etc. They don’t have their priorities right.
Prioritys need addressing!
someone needs a cold shower,
its a shame but 55 in a 40 zone is always going to attract a decent fine and points. but it does feel a bit like 'entrapment' , similar to pretending to be a prostitute in a way to trap someone. if youre taring up behind someone on a bike its basically offering a challenge which is a bit naughty.
Yes ,the prostitute thing is my views exactly as well.....Imagine how gutting it is when they find out....a bit like Delboys birthday at the Nags head!!
Looks like an easy revenue stream for the police. If someone can afford a decent bike they can afford a fine.
Just what is it about passing bikers?... You cannot pass any 1%ers without asking "pretty please" first & the macho "I can't let it be seen that he is faster than me".... On a dual carriageway would someone really be being "pushed" or was there any ego involved?
this chap was on a 200cc bike, the copper could have over taken if he wasn't on the hunt.
Nothing is fair game these days is it?! Time to vote REFORM and get your country back!
Yeh, take back control. Look at how great brexshit turned out. Now we can vote for more of that bollocks with Reform. Yayy.
If the guy was speeding then it’s legit. If the guy was pressured in to speeding by the cop then it’s not. It’s anecdotal but I have heard of U.K. police pressuring road users to cross the NSL on A roads by driving close. That looks like quota-filling, not actual police work to me.
Good that he only got three points, much the same as doing 21 in a 20. Could have been much worse.
Suspicious; tailgater?…. Slow down, turn off or do a go-around at the next roundabout.
If we are honest with ourselves most of us like a bit of speed now and then, but if it exceeds the speed limit we are all adults and know it too fast. Don’t cry if you are caught. I note you haven’t said what speed was concerned. Every day people are killed on the roads and the police have a duty to try and reduce those numbers. Easy solution, don’t exceed the limit.
