    I have seen some videos on Bree and think it is wonderful that you fought for her to have the most wonderful life she could have! Thank you for sharing her beautiful life and the unconditional love you have for her! People who do not have a person with a disability in their family have no idea of the struggles and isolation a family goes through. The love of family and the advocacy for their loved ones who often don’t have a voice is amazing!

    God bless Wendy Gilker. She is a great mother to Bree. It's sad that Bree is no longer here with us. Bree may be gone, but her spirits will forever live on. Rest in peace, Bree and God bless you.

    It helps Wendy greatly that she was brought up with compassion and unconditional love.
    With that as a basis from the outset, she will be hugely better able to deal with curve balls thrown her way, so as far as possible it's so important to raise kids with these mindsets. I did not have that, but I'm having to face all the negativity and unrealistic expectations that was forced upon me as a child.
    It's really good to see that she's very accepting and calm, I'd wish it for everyone.

    It’s really inspiring that Wendy has put her daughter first and has done all she could to care for her and give her the the best life she could under the circumstances. In regards to her saying that having a profoundly handicapped child a blessing....I strongly disagree. It’s great that the experience helped Wendy grow as a person but saying that having a profoundly handicapped child is something to be desired because it helped you grow is kind of selfish. I also don’t think I’d like to “grow” as a person under those circumstances. Spending every minute of everyday for 36 years micro managing every aspect of Brees life does not sound healthy. Its not surprising that Wendy is VERY stressed out all the time because there really isn’t any quality of life here. Having Bree crawl around the house all day everyday amongst other isolated activities is no way to live. It would do Wendy good to get out and have some kind of life outside of Bree. It would probably do Bree good to be around other people too in some kind of program for the disabled for a few hours here and there. I mean Bree really doesn’t have any quality of life and from what was said at age 11 she peaked at her ability level and since then she’s done the same things everyday which is just crawling around with Wendy coaching her. I would never wish for this to happen to anyone or be grateful for it because that’s a human being who is suffering and was dealt a terrible hand in life. Wendy is a saint though for doing what she did with Bree. She gave her everything she had. Also she learned a lot that I’m sure will help a lot of parents of profoundly handicapped children and the children themselves. All the diet stuff that she has put together over the years is remarkable and I think will truly make its mark on the world.!

      I wondered about this too, since Wendy never said she was a widow. It does not seem uncommon for a partner to abandon the family under these circumstances, if that was the reason.

      It's not suffering when God intended for her beautiful soul to be here on this planet at this time. She was happy and she was loved. The greatest of all things is love. The only suffering comes from seeing comments like yours.

  • @allistrata

    It's a shame you're so judgemental, though. Maybe Bree was proof that you're not perfect just because you eat a plant based diet. Some people can't. That kind of toxic attitude only turns people against you, and then they won't hear Bree's story. What's more important to you?

    • @clareruth3588
      @clareruth3588 2 года назад +3

      Lol this comment makes no sense. How is she judgmental just because she follows a plant based diet? When does she claim to be
      perfect and how is her daughter ‘proof’ that she isn’t? Stop feeling attacked by others’ lifestyle choices.
