Please be alert and don't drive that rickshaw above 50. I'm from india and i own a rickshaw. It's "Piaggio Ape". It's a bigger rickshaw, lot of luggage space, much more stable but it's very noisy. This rickshaw you drive has stability issues. If you do quick movements with handles, then this will flip over. It's a very common accident especially in mountainous roads. If you are driving this thing in Kerala, then be extremely cautious.
Edit : While eating with hands, if you don't use index finger or small finger, then it's easy.

I always believe that Westerners have never truly traveled until they've been to a destination such as India. I've been 3x over 20 years ago and can still remember details of those amazing journeys, all different and unique! Liam, you have nerves of steel driving a tuc-tuc in that traffic, but you two are in the midst of a trip of a lifetime (largely due to your means of transport). These India videos are classic and thank you so much for producing them! Just the colors of the saris have me enthralled. I do pray for your safety and know that the generosity of the Indian people is much due to your warm, happy and smiling spirits. Your happiness makes others feel happy! Hey Liam and Janine , I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying your journey and happy to see the unique travel experience that you guys are bringing it your content. Since your guys have started your journey in my state its even more special. so here are the few things that I noticed and thought might help you understand things better.
    1) The temple which you visited is not actually a temple but an madam, which is run by the disciples & followers of Ramalinga Vallalar (வள்ளல் or vallal in tamil means
philanthropist or charitable person. His title literally means as a generous person) . He started this movement where he set out to feed anyone and everyone who visits their madam regardless of their wealth of belief with a hungry stomach about 150 years ago . Which is continued by their followers with the help from volunteers even to this day .
    2) At the petrol bunk the pump attended asked you if you want to fill your can with 5 litres of petrol or for Rs. 500, since the petrol costs Rs 102.63 people tent to fill up their tanks by mentioning the Rs as like fill for Rs 500 or Rs 1000 so as to avoid the hassle of tendering the exact change especially when the mode of payment is cash. So I would suggest you to get the petrol in terms of litre since you have to keep track of oil mix per litre.

Ohhhhh Liam the final scene of u holding that lil baby immediately after Janine spoke about the temple. It really did draw me back to India. I felt the energies in that temple which shows what AMAZING vloggers u and Janine are ❤️ I love your balanced view. Re you express the altruism of some of the people. They provide us with a depth of nurturing, yet sometimes others can tell us wrong things and the roads are incredibly dangerous. I felt as tho I was in heaven and hell at the same time during my travels there.
Soooo glad to hear about the yoga. Yup sitting in a tuc tuc all day with a high level of concentration and the movement is enough to throw anyone out of balance so yoga will certainly ground you both.
Well done on your hindi speaking 😀👍
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED LOVED LOVED vlogging life in India. Would have been really funny if the cow who passed your tuc tuc attempted to get in it 😀 hahahahaha. ❤️😀❤️

Excellent video. Glad that you visited 1100 years old Thanjavur Big temple, an Architectural and Engineering marvel. No one knows clearly how this granite stone temple was built (within 7 years) with a height of 63 mts with hollow inside from 50th meter onwards . No mortar was used between the interlocking stones. Standing today majestically not affected by any natural disaster. I would rate this as the top wonder of ancient architecture in India.

09:20 That building is a part of a great philosophy. The writings on the building say, " Every living being should live a life of happiness" and followed by the mantra meaning "The great blessing and The uniquely great mercy". These are quotes of Vallalar.
Vallalar, also known as Sri Ramalinga Swamigal or Vallalar Swamigal, was a 19th century Indian philosopher, saint, poet, and social reformer. He was born in 1823 in the town of Marudur near Chennai, in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Vallalar is best known for his teachings on self-realization, social equality, and service to humanity. He founded the "Samarasa Suddha Sanmarga Sathiya Sangam" (Society for the Pure Doctrine of Universal Oneness), which aimed to promote the unity of all religions and caste equality.
He is also known for his spiritual poems collectively known as "Thiru Arutpa" or "The Divine Song," which contain his teachings on self-realization and his experiences of the divine.
Vallalar passed away in 1874, but his teachings continue to inspire and influence people in India and beyond. He is revered by many as a saint and a spiritual leader.

Just let you know , You said In India Most common language is English and Hindi. But When you take South India every state has seperate Native language and they also speak English.(Eg.Tamilnadu - Tamil and English , Kerala - Malayalam and English, karanataka - kannada and English) In south India some of them only know Hindi .so when you travel around you You need to know their state language or else English.

Great video Liam and Janine, yes a lot of time needed for travel in that vast country, how much time do you have out there? Some people might do that journey in sections so if you were to realise your running out of time you could potentially head for Goa maybe as a journeys end ! Lots of beach resorts, you could chill out in a beach hut accommodation maybe, we stayed at a resort called Baga, just a thought, but yes you have to think ahead all the time, take care both.

don't want to brag but that orange sweet you ate is called "Jangiree". Jelabi is a bit different where they ferment the mix overnight before deep frying and soaking it in sugar syrup. It has the sweet fermented taste and is best served hot, on the other hand Jangiree is right after the mix, they deep fry it and then let it cool down, then they put the deep fried jangiree into the hot syrup and made it cool downed, best served when it's in normal or slightly cold temperature. It can be tough learning the differences tbh 😅😅

The village of Kalaiyur is full of cooks, they are big time caterers who cook big feasts for huge gatherings like weddings, temple festivals etc, I can see that they are not running small eateries in their own village because everyone is eating at home :), The place where you guys ate is the free food offered by followers of Ramalinga Swamigal (aka) Vallalar. You can read about this saint and poet in google.
