Yes this interview was painful to watch in places. The almost completely idiotic questions ("and were you also trading while you were [running coffee orders?]" when the man has explained at least three times that this is the training BEFORE they let him loose trading) combined with the ludicrous responses that make it sound like this interviewer thinks he's talking as equals and Cathey has - or even should have - even the faintest bit of interest in what he's saying makes this just an unbearably idiotic waste of the time of someone who must be wondering what the hell he agreed to this for.

Not real helpful. More helpful would be .. have set ups with at least 70 percent expectancy. Use stop losses to save you from the 30 percent that don't work. Don't risk more than 2 percent of your capital on any one trade. Have max trade, day, and week loss limits that shut you down if you are doing poorly. The market is always gonna be there ... every day brings new opportunities. You don't need to trade everyday. And above all losing correctly is the secret of this game.

I've been a huge fan of Chris and the other mentors at ITPM for a long time (Full disclosure I am ITPM alumni and fully endorse the courses and mentoring programs they offer). My only complaint was I never really got to know much about their personal lives and it was so nice to hear about Chris as a person and his outlook on life and family. The most interesting part of the interview for me was gaining insight his personality. He sounds like a wonderful Dad, but also capable of turning on the 'brutality switch' and becoming totally present and self-aware e.g. "I didn't feel particularly stressed" or "I've always been self-confident" or when Riz asked him who he would like to meet from the past he said "I would just focus on the world today" all these responses are hallmarks of positive or dare I say 'good psychopathy.' Highly recommend Dr Kevin Dutton's book "The Good Psychopath's guide to success". Chris ticks the boxes.

The Anton Kreil shtick makes no sense in 2024 when so many of us have consistently been profitable scalping for decades. There are rules like - no trading in a choppy market ,that make scalping profitable. They pretty much scare people into believing their methods are the only ones that work so you must buy their course. Even a basic MA cross works if the rules are kept. A strategy is a strategy and all of em have drawdown periods

It is just stupid to choose this way of trading over a fundamental + technical approach. You are basing your trade ideas on price and indicators derived from price alone. While the other process is much more sophisticated and is going to have a higher winning percentage because you have more wind in your sails. And btw, why the hell would you want to cut a position intraday when it is working for you and you can let it run. The most successful traders in the world aren’t day traders and that is for a reason.

Funny enough, as a scalper, following this guys approach to the markets made me more profitable than ever. Changed my approach from more of a reactionary trader to generating high quality trade ideas. And he's somewhat right, I can do 100%+ return in a day if I'm trading even up to 5 figures but the more money you manage, the harder it is to trade all that capital effectively because of costs especially if you're scalping small moves. Your overall returns will suffer + now you're talking about RR. Your risk significantly goes up when you're trading small moves while risking a lot of capital that will only net you a very small insignificant %. Scalping up to a small 8 figures can work well, once you start getting to those mid-upper 8 figures+ it doesn't work the same.

@@JimmyJenkinJohnson 7 and 8 figures isn't a lot of money in the trading world. Even if you're risking 0.5-2% your position sizes won't be significant enough to hinder you from scalping because of spreads or fees. Quarterly, annually you can still do very good returns by scalping. When you start managing a decent 9 figures +, that's when your approach has to change. You can still allocate a portion to scalping but it's much harder to do solid returns from a % standpoint scalping.

These guys doesn't care about you or your finances ,they are trading mentors who sell their own courses , that's it. and they want to sell you the idea that no way to make money but our way... trading is a tough journey .you learn something from here and something from there , pay your tuition fees then figure it all out for yourself.
Institutional trading is unlike prop trading, different parameters and different processes and a lot of layers , when trading on your own , no one but you .. and you have to control it all.
best thing to do is to find a mentor who walked the same path and let him guide you ,just guidance no copying..
P.S most comments will come from strange accounts supporting the idea , pure gold, unbelievable , stuff like that .. almost seen in all ITPM related stuff comments

From my neck of the woods great to see him on here but i think many would disagree with him about intraday or scalloping as Riz said majority people trade intraday but i guess if you are trading with millions you aren't exactly going to be scalping. This is the difference with the pro traders vs us regular traders.

Interesting perspective but I think he might have been speaking out of turn about intraday trading, he may not be experienced with very good intraday traders. I can't speak to FX, but I know for a fact it is possible to be consistently profitable to a very high level intraday trading Futures utilizing various technical analysis / orderflow alone.

The people that say scalping can't be done are part of the 95% who failed (to fail at scalping means to give up before you succeed.... quitters). I have to admit that I thought the same way for a while after spending a couple of years learning to scalp, but YES, I'm doing it consistently, and doing very well at it now. I find that trading with the trend, taking advantage of dips, with a momentum candle bringing it out of the dip, to be a very successful strategy. I've experimented with win to loss ratios from positive to negative ratios; I find a 0.7: 1 to a 0.6: 1 negative win to loss ratio to be the best on my strategy for a few reasons.

scalping should be something you do with very small size as an exercise to understand the small scale. Size should increase with timeframe and your main strategies should be in line with central bank liquidity and longer term trend following -- holding index funds and hedging dynamically with options.
