Yep. I personally believe that was Scott giving us an answer for Midnight Motorist. Aunt Jane/Jen did the barest minimum of trying to look after Abby but gave up way too easily. Just like Couch Person.
The one sitting on the couch is Mrs. Afton, hence why that person can talk to an angry and drunk William with a direct command. "Leave him alone tonight. He had a rough day." is a command. There's no "please" or anything.
I was LITERALY just talking to my friend about this the other day; wether Shadow Freddy counted as a Freddy, Golden Freddy/Fredbear, or if he’s his own thing.
This makes midnight motorist feel so much more clear (not to mention I’m very validated that someone agrees that the movie is telling us about game Mike’s nightmares during FNAF 1)
Also keep in mind that Scott said that there are no easter egg randoms in fnaf 4, and just nightmare for some reason has the inverted colors of golden, having the yellow bow and hat and his black skin It also has the same jumpscare
It takes a certain someone to create a theory video to be interesting, engaging, and atmospheric. This video by itself has the eerie vibe of a late-night scary story. All those thoughts and conclusions put me in a state of mind where I try to process how terrifying this theory is. That's the charm I miss in the newer games that seems crucial to Five Nights at Freddy's and what made it so iconic. Hopefully, you will come up with more of these theories and help keep this franchise so entertaining. Good luck! It's a disturbing little world of Freddy's...
While I'm definitely a little unsure about the conclusions drawn with Midnight Motorist, I really love what this does for FNaF4's symbolism. Most of the time, the story portion of FNaF4 theories just doesn't seem believable as something someone would actually write at that stage of the FNaF series, but for this one, I think enough connections have piled up over the years that a good part of this has to be true in some way.
Something I remembered is, you can hear the distorted versions of fnaf 1 phone calls during fnaf 4, right? That kinda supports your theory and brings an explanation for the phone calls in fnaf 4!
This is something that I've thought. The mound is also on top of a rectangular part of the clearing that's a slightly different color from the rest, *vaguely* resembling the outline of a house. I think this might have been intended to be an indication that the FNAF 4 house was underground, like we find out in Dittophobia.
yesss, ive been thinking that the mound is where Elizabeth is buried, either literally as a corpse or symbolically as it's an entrance to CB's Entertainment and Rental
looks like peak has dropped, this was a really interesting theory. I love how make theories about some of the older games mixed in too. mustard man and golden/shadow freddy taking children to CIRCUS BABYS PIZZA WORLD is one of the most flabberghasting things (in a good way) I have ever heard in a fnaf theory. Something I wanna throw out as a different approach to Shadow Freddy's nature is that in the movie , Freddy Fazbear/Gabriel "creates" Shadow Freddy by leading Max to her death. He makes her *follow him.* And of course, after Freddy kills Max, he stuffs her body in none other than Shadow Freddy. I'm not implying that game Shadow Freddy is an entity possesed by Max, but I find it interesting how Shadow Freddy then leads the animatronics, Freddy/Gabriel included, to their "death" in a way, given that they get destroyed and trapped in the Funtimes by Afton
If you think about it, all of the Fnaf 6 minigames victims all represent the first of something Charlie: William first ever kill Susie : the first MCI kid Andrew : the first experiment victim William kidnapped
Dreadbear tells a story that may be related to what happened to the Crying Child; in Curse of Dreadbear we are presented with a Frankenstein's Monster set-up to "calibrate" a human-looking brain that will then be put into the Dreadbear. It is really easy to dismiss this mini-game as "just Halloween stuff" but consider how this plays into the themes of Help wanted; a video game all about mixing reality (what happened in-universe) with misinformation. We are shown things and told not to take them seriously; but many of the events directly tell us about real events in-universe and going into Help Wanted 2 it seems like many times we are playing realistic "recorded memories" while at other times we might be remotely controlling a staff bot in real time. All of that said; is Dreadbear really a one-off mascot? Or is Dreadbear a "disguised" Golden Freddy; intentionally presented a bit differently to mislead via the Halloween theme. He shakes and looks pained when you give him controlled shocks in the mini-game; you have to calibrate it just right or it's game over... Doesn't this sound really similar to someone running experiments with an animatronic and a dead child?
Whoever edited this video deserves massive respects. This is incredibly high quality visually, the audio is... The audio mixing feels a little off, the voice performance needs improvement and the voice audio itself sounds... strange? Either way, keep your chin up Entom, you're doing great!
I remember asking you a long time ago if you faked those emails with your sources and you said No. Now with the Talbert Filies incident I wondered now.
Shadows. Always interesting, they change shape depending on what surface they are on, get darker when the light is more intense and yet don't have any effect on the person casting it. 🤭🤭
Loved the editing on this one! By the way Entom, if your PC has the right specs you might want to try NVIDIA RTX Voice for when your bird is in the room, it gets rid of a lot of background audio nothing else does, it might help!
This is a really refreshing take! While I personally disagree with almost everything sorrounding MM, this was extremely well put together. Excited for whatever you make next!
This could mean glitchtrap is existing because of shadow Freddy because in Security Breach the glamrock jumpscare sound effect ends with nightmare’s jumpscare sound effect.

I think this theory is amazing, theory wise, and story wise. It fits perfectly, imo. Good job. I hope more people see this so they can further theories on what they think or just talk about this since this always has been a topic with really no concrete answer
You could genuinely place the nightmares and logbook onto fnaf 3 as 3 has this specific easter egg, that is shadow freddy slumped over the left side of the office, this only works given if you want to go with Mike being the guard of 3
People believed the shadows represented the agony of the murders that happened. We don’t see Shadow Freddy anymore, because the kids moved on, the kids that were killed in FNAF 2 haven’t gotten proper closure, and Shadow Bonnie represents it. However, there is a better explanation: Given Shadow Freddy has an actual name, where as Shadow Bonnie is just has jumbled up letters for his name, perhaps it’s possible that this is a hint to what they both are? Shadow Bonnie could just be the embodiment of the agony, and guards it (like in FNAF AR), and Shadow Freddy is just a simple reflection of Golden Freddy. Edit: I love your theory, and I do hope the shadows get recognized again eventually, they’re my favorite characters. 10:40, I did find it odd that Nigjtmare Fredbear wasn’t mentioned in the Book, it seems important? 🤔
Shadow freddy: agony in cc that was in the Fredbear plush (1983) Agony of henry born in 1983 from the forth charlie The shadow: agony of william when he killed the mci (1985) later merged with the agony of the forth charlie being Eleanor Shadow Bonnie: agony of the dci (1987) Nightmarionne: agony of charlie representing dead (1983)
this randomly re-showed up on the home page of your channel so since im able to type here i just wanna say i am sorry for how the community has treated you over the past few days, and for if what scott has said has caused more stress for you, i hope you're okay
Bwing a follower of five nights at freddys ever since its release, ive never seen such an in-depth theory on shadow freddy. Shadow freddy is often ignored, so watching you piece it all together makes me believe that you truly are right with this theory. I love what you had to say about FNAF 4 as well, I feel like it all makes sense after so many years of misdirection. Thank you!
As always Entom with the most underrated and wild ideas, I really like this theory - correct or not, I see it as my personal headcanon for the time being Also I love this thumbnail
This is my theory also, it’s so obvious to me it’s painful. Anton can change colors from yellow to purple and he LITERALLY painful!!! If Afton changes colours, he changes colours. Period. Shouldn’t matter if he’s wearing a suit or not.
This is really interesting! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I really love considering stuff from new angles like this. Best wishes, hope you're doing well!! ❤
The whole thing about shadow Freddy being just a remodel of golden Freddy and being related to William fits perfectly with CC, who possess golden Freddy
This is absolute genius Shadow Freddy and the film’s Golden Freddy kid have been nagging on my mind, and you managed to cohesively explain MM and the logbook in the process. I’m alive and well
I think the movie supports this theory in this way too - they shove Max, a person with very clashing ideals ( which are - she clearly likes Mike but also she tries to sabotage his career) into the purple freddy suit.
Ooh, I've wondered about the basic gist of Shadow Freddy = Golden Freddy before, but I've never had a great answer for why the difference, I really like this! I'm not certain how I feel about the Midnight Motorist bit, but your reasoning does make a lot of sense, I'm gonna need to let that idea stew a bit longer before I know how I feel. Also, neat to see the bit at the end where you go through possible flaws to help people come up with their own conclusions, would be great if that becomes standard honestly. 10/10 video
Amazing video. I think you're spot on. I wrote a blog post on this topic suggesting that the animatronics might be referencing Jung's idea of Golden Shadows and Shadows. That would explain the duality of the animatronic and Princess Quest.
I wanna try to add onto this with something i always thought bout with nightmare, in fnaf 4 i think that night 5 and 6 are in Crying childs perspective cuz hes scared of fredbear, and in night 6, nightmares jumpscares a still image that sounds like an ambulance siren at a certain speed, in a literal way, fredbears purpose is to entertain, but instead chomped CC, which doesnt quite match your shadow theory, but i thought it was sorta fitting, but from michaels perspective of him reliving these dreams, hed prolly see it from the angle you proposed (unrelated, but since CC dies if you beat night 6 anyways, i always assumed that the last thing CC sees is nightmares jumpscare, which honestly is a soul shattering way to go)
I have a question about this theory. There is one moment in FNAF 2 where we see Shadow Freddy that you neglected to mention, the cutscenes. In FNAF 2 there are cutscenes where you are on stage in the FNAF 1 establishment looking at the animatronics and are (eventually) met with Golden Freddy and the Puppet. I bring these cutscenes up because they are called “Dreams” in the game files and if you brighten up the Freddy head you look out of it’s actually purple implying you are Shadow Freddy. Each cutscene also ends with ERR appearing briefly in the corner as well, which is a phrase we’ve only ever seen later in Follow Me. My take on these is they are dreams Shadow Freddy gave Michael to make him think the animatronics are possessed and encourage him to work at the FNAF 2 location, which he does under the fake name Fritz and would explain why he tampered with the animatronics even before going to the SL (which I think happens in between FNAF 1 & 2). However this goes against Shadow Freddy’s characterization as a lackey of Williams. Maybe Golden Freddy wants Mike to see these to free the spirits but Shadow Freddy/William wants Mike to see these because… I can’t figure it out. But this theory did help me understand Shadow Freddy some more and I thank you for making it!
I feel like you are close to something here, but shadow freddy was the negative energy from the bite of 83. In the logbook, Cassidy tells the crying child, "The party was for you," referring to happiest day, so he moved on, and she stayed but without the shadow thing being involved. In Security Breach, we see that there is notes that show the crying child trying to recollect his memories, meaning he didn't move on after all so i think it was the crying child who possessed shadow freddy. The crying child probably was trying to help the dead children not work for William. The reason he lured them into the saferoom is because he was trying to help them kill William without realizing how the animatronics code worked.
I mean its not the first time that the colors purple and yellow were used interchangeably for a character (assuming the PC in Midnight motorists is William)
Very interesting theory as always! While I noticed them, I hadn't given much thought to the connections between the film and FNaF 4/Midnight Motorist, but you really blew me away with your conclusions. Although, I don't really know if I agree with the main point of the theory, which is Shadow Freddy and Golden Freddy being the same... It just feels a bit too convoluted and unnecessarily complicated, even for FNaF, and I think EleanorShadows just makes more sense. Also, about Golden Freddy luring kids to CBEAR... Yeah... I don't know, man. It's technically possible and you bring out a fair share of evidence, but it just doesn't sit right with me. Like, such an important piece of info being just vaguely referenced in a minigame feels off... MoltenMCI also happened off-screen, but Scott made sure to hammer down the idea multiple times in FFPS, TFC and even HW. But aside from that, great theory!
It is interesting to me that Nightmare specifically reflects Golden Freddy's colour palette with the black colouring instead of purple. It could just be an aesthetic choice to make Nightmare blend in more and another nod towards both purples and blacks representing shadows in but considering black accessories have been used pretty consistently to distinguish Golden Freddy from Fredbear combined with the other connections to Golden Freddy makes a pretty compelling case even with just FNAF 4 that there's more going on then just Bite of 83 trauma. Either way, I'd disagree with your indication that Nightmare Fredbear is Golden Freddy at least in the same sense Nightmare is Shadow Freddy especially if Golden and Shadow Freddy are 2 halves of the same entity. While Nightmare's voice lines are pretty direct threats for the most part, with just a couple hints at their relationship and origin. Nightmare Fredbear has 2 voice lines that emphasise his real nature, one of which heavily implies he was previously nothing more than that. "This time, there is more than an illusion to fear." Another 2 reference "I will put you back together." and one implying he's a ringleader of (presumably) the other nightmares "We know who our friends are (...) " Personally, I find it more likely he's a manifestation of the bite of 83 trauma hence the references to it and the child's voice.
If i remember correctly shadow freddy also appears in fnaf 3, not in the minigame but in the office as a secret. It always confused me why Shadow Freedy was in fnaf 3 however if your theory is correct it finally explains why.
So to add on this, what if fnaf 5 doesn't show fredbear or nightmare in the secret map because they could be spirits instead of whatever the other nightmares are? would explain why Michael draws fredbear in the logbook, cause if its a nightmare gas chamber and not a dream, after Michael woke up he would see that everyone else was a fake except for fredbear.
As I watched I thought, “What if the shadow Freddy isn’t that complex, what if it’s just a weird way of visualizing the crying child’s soul separated from Cassidy’s?”
I am still a firm believer in AuctionTheory (4 Gameplay after 3), though I think a good chunk of elements of your theory are probably true even with that, except Cassidy starts to do that to Mike when the last pieces of the MCI not in the Funtimes are brought together (the auction box pieces…..) Great video and great theory!
I love how the parakeets in the background are like "Uh huh, keep going" LOL

This is quite literally what I’ve been thinking for the longest of time but you went the extra mile with it. Great theory I really agree with!
the bird in the back around was a little distracting lol, but I can see this being true
12:30 insane how this reminds me of the movies plot
Banger video
Yowsers! What a radical theory, Twitter guy!
This was Great! I've never had so much fun watching an theory video since MatPat's old Theories.
... I was literally JUST thinking of how we don't know much about the Shadows. THANK you for clearing it up. Great theory, keep up the great work
Ez, they aren't... Or they are... Wait... SCOTT WE GOT HIM, HE KNOWS TOO MUCH
I wanna try to add onto this with something i always thought bout with nightmare, in fnaf 4 i think that night 5 and 6 are in Crying childs perspective cuz hes scared of fredbear, and in night 6, nightmares jumpscares a still image that sounds like an ambulance siren at a certain speed, in a literal way, fredbears purpose is to entertain, but instead chomped CC, which doesnt quite match your shadow theory, but i thought it was sorta fitting, but from michaels perspective of him reliving these dreams, hed prolly see it from the angle you proposed (unrelated, but since CC dies if you beat night 6 anyways, i always assumed that the last thing CC sees is nightmares jumpscare, which honestly is a soul shattering way to go)
The bird is back!!!
Dude you sound like Stuart from The Big Bang Theory, great video btw
Greate video! This makes a lot of sense! But I'm still so torn between AndrewExpMM and MCIMM. Can't really decide what to believe as of now :(
This was a really good one, I liked where it went and a satisfying end, I can definitely see this being true though tbh
Insane theory. I love it. Also the birds in the background are so funny
M Y A G O N Y I N B I O
This theory is actually mindblowing by how you presented it and the connection to the film.
Also amazing production quality✨
But this theory did help me understand Shadow Freddy some more and I thank you for making it!
shader freddy
man this is the best theory outside the game theory stuff
we gotta show this to the higher ups
I loved the video, very good explanation
That's not how possession works in FNAF, you don't just possess a negative-emotion entity with no physical body
@@Faris-xj3wu just saying it could be both or just him
@@Shadowmouse1234 I don't think so
Shadow Freddy is the agony from MCI, that's why he's recreating MCI in fnaf 3, that's why he tells William that he's his wickedness made of flesh
@@docorid4042 I kinda disagree, it's more so that he's the agony from charlie, william, henry and cassidy
Wow nice edition
Really great theory. You presented some interesting ideas here, I 100% agree with the idea of connecting the movie to FNaF 4.
Great theory! I agree with almost everything! (Except who the MM kid is) Also very well edited btw
8:59 literally dropped my jaw, that's so clever
i thought that shadow freddy in the thumbnail was the wither storm until i looked closer💀
Let bro cook
i’d love to see a fnaf world theory
Great Video!!
Hi Entomʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
Entom why do you sound different every time I hear you? Like you're some sort of language shapeshifter. I'm onto you. I know your SECRETS
Jokes on you; This has always been my headcannon
I am still a firm believer in AuctionTheory (4 Gameplay after 3), though I think a good chunk of elements of your theory are probably true even with that, except Cassidy starts to do that to Mike when the last pieces of the MCI not in the Funtimes are brought together (the auction box pieces…..)
Great video and great theory!
