I love the idea that the SL animatronics are based on felt suits from the Fall Fest era. I think that's a very logical, clean explanation of the progression of the franchise
It could be a mirror to how Chuckie Cheese IRL is a merge of two franchises the way MatPat used to say. The FF felt characters that likely traveled and stayed a week in several towns. Later they become Circus Baby characters as the carnival is adapted to a startionary year-round circus performance with animationics. Elsewhere, Fredbear's Singing Show is a thing, with a very crude by comparison to anything we have seen in game stage performance much like the IRL Country Bear Jamboree in Magic Kingdom (I've seen it myself, it was great) in a diner environment. That evolves into Freddie Fazbear's Pizza. The two groups seem to have a sensible development timeline individually, and then the circus baby construction method gets used on Fredbear characters after a merger. I think at this point, the exact order of events and which group is which inventor's IP is just too messy, and I do mean that as a point against the games after we've had so much time with them. I know the cryptic theorizing is what is keeping the buzz going, but with how much of a flop Security Breach was as an experience (though the free DLC was good quality) we really do need some hard "this is confirmed" points we can nail to the theory-corkboard wall when we hit that 10 year anniversary. I wouldn't want a full reveal of everything laid out, but boy it would be satisfying to just have one clear "remnant was discovered by Afton when ___ happened" in game, not in a book or movie AU.

I know how Freddy Fazbear’s LLC was created. The thing is the original Freddy Fazbear’s brand was dissolved by Henry but Afton robotics, probably declining due to the death of their owner, probably re-branded as Freddy Fazbear’s and if you look on the blueprint of baby in the other fun time animatronics you’ll see the Afton robotics was an LLC company. They probably just re-branded to Freddy Fazbear’s. They had to try to catch up in the corner profit. That also explains why they’re so shady.

Late to the party but if you think about it, William creating animatronic characters that can kidnap and kill before he's actually killed anyone can easily be explained away as planning murders in a way that won't get him caught. A lot of serial killers that are successful don't simply kill on a whim, they plan in advance and set things up so that they can continue to kill in safety. It would make a lot of sense that he created the suits to do the work for him before he risked putting himself out there. If anything, it makes MORE sense, because serial killers often get caught because they get cocky. For example, starting to lure kids away himself rather than following his meticulous plan, or killing someone too close and implicating himself. Would Scott have thought of this and done it intentionally? Debatable. Would it nicely explain away a timeline inconsistency? For sure.
My idea for what happened to fall fest is that one of the animatronics caught fire (represented by the foxy maze minigame) which caused the rest of the carnival to catch fire like we see in HW2
Not to mention in help wanted 2 one of the unlockables that apparently doesn't do anything is a mini carousel, which seems to be the exact same carousel from fnaf 2
Not to mention the Fourth Closet when going to CBPW, Balloon Boy is there at the location as well. After Scott said N. BB is canon, I always had a theory of BB came form the Sister location cast, specially with little joe and the magician having the same design, putting Afton Robotics before Fazbear Pizzeria given they would be the ones to built the robots.
I kinda hope the next game is a classic FNAF game, with little to no free roam. They’ve got AR and VR and free roam already- I hope what comes next is just a return to form
Honestly, i wouldnt be suprised if the mimic would of possibly been in one of the fallfest (specifically in 83’s fire incident) since those suits were probably the first suits to be used both on a exoskeleton and human. And that their very carnival themed and would probably be used in fallfest.
My theory has long been that many years before the restaurants opened Afton and Henry first owned a travelling circus together, or at least worked at one together as young men, teenagers even. I also think a lot of people give the rhetoric that Afton only started killing after his daughter died. But i think the movie was trying to tell us that's not true with Afton's daughter being alive in it. Perhaps Afton started killing while working at that travelling circus, but at that point wasn't stuffing bodies into suits. Looking at real life evidence of IRL serial killers, lots of times many of a SK's first kills don't follow the same patterns. I've long thought that Afton's killing would have predated his daughter's death, otherwise why would the funtimes be the perfect killers when his daughter is killed by one of them, and he actively tells his daughter not to go near them.... he KNEW they were dangerous already.
I'm still convinced that the multiple Shadow Balloon Boys in the FNAF 3 minigames is evidence that a single person's soul can be split between multiple animatronics as 'dark remnant' or 'agony' or whatever you want to call it.
Dude I’ve been preaching it for a while now… why does baby have so many more kid friendly features compared to the rest of the fun times? It’s like she was actually made for kids, or the fun times were actually made for kids. Then Elizabeth happened, afton goes crazy, sees the potential after finding out his daughter possesses baby, and modifies the robots to kill. Not sure where it places timeline wise yet, it’s just been on my back burner for a while. I keep seeing the question pop up of “why are the fun times here before this, there was no tragedy!” and such and nobody thinks that they may not have been made to kill in the first place.
my theory is that funtime animatronics and balloon boy and all the others you talked about their characters were made for fall fest but then after some time afton has remade the most loved animatronics and balloon boy could be one a leftover animatronic from the fall fest that was fixed and repurposed before (or after) circus baby’s was supposed to open
If you're looking for another link between Mike and Balloon Boy - In Security Breach, the room with all the sticky notes and the family setup; the staffbot representing the oldest son is dressed similarly to Balloon Boy (striped shirt and a propeller hat)
Brazil is a joke ending, a reference to a movie of the same name where at the end a guy thinks he'd been rescued from bad dudes that were about to torture him but in reality he'd gone insane from the torture he thinks he escaped from and his broken mind is just imagining he's safe, same as what Cassie's doing imagining she's on a sunny grassy hill with Gregory when a monster's right behind her about to tear her apart. I wouldn't put any stock in its visuals. The Carnival reference in the developer text was in regards to some scrapped thing for the Mimic, I forgot what exactly but I think TetraBit goes over it in one of his unused stuff videos for Ruin. The only vestige left of it in the full game is the Mimic's musical theme being vaguely carnival-like.
this theory has giving me an idea may be originally the funtimes were just suits for performers to wear over time ( possibly due to chica's party world ) the main business switched to animatronics and pizza restaurants and the costumes were forgotten about. then when William was doing his secret projects he created the funtimes based of the old circus suits from back in the day. honestly this is just what I think about it.
3:20 I don't know about any experiments, I believe FNAF 4 Gameplay is Michael's Nightmare during FNAF 1 where he's on the place of CC in these Nightmares, must be influence of Golden Freddy
We know literally nothing about Mrs. Afton. What if she's the first death at fall fest. A way to make Henry's speech in PizzaSim make sense is make Mrs. Afton related to him(family, ex, secret pining love interest). Gives William a reason to look into spirits and remnant. Though, it would make CC at least 13yo by '83.🤔
I love this theory! I adore that it's an opportunity to take a whole different perspective on the events and timeline of the franchise by focusing in on elements often overlooked, i.e. balloon boy. Definitely some interesting food for thought
I always thought that maybe the Toy animatronics were built by Afton Robotics LLC for the Freddy’s location in 1987. It would explain the similar design of Funtime Foxy to Mangle.
for a moment i thought that he will comment that at that table with the afton family as staff bots mike's has a balloon boy hat, sort of implying that he is based on micheal just like baby was based on elizabeth
I’ve had a theory about the Mimic’s origins for a really long time. I don’t know if it’s true, it has some flaws especially with the books in mind, but I’d at least like to hear other people talk about it. In FNAF 4, William Afton is presumed to be the one telling his son “I will put you back together”. Despite that, we never see him actually try it. At the same time, we have the mimic, a copycat killer that, when broken and given agony by its creator, followed in Afton’s footsteps specifically. We know that William Afton is obsessed with control, as well as bringing back his dead kids, as seen with Baby. Lastly, we can infer that the Mimic, and the AI that seems to stem from it, specifically focus on recreating the Aftons, as seen in the Post-it Room in the Pizzaplex sewers. What if William Afton built the Mimic? It would certainly be in character for him to do so, and the mimic being linked to William so much would make a lot more sense. William could have built the underground lab and M.X.E.S console that we see under the FNAF 6 location (which we’ve been theorizing could have previously been Fredbear’s Family Diner) at a time when FFD was still open, shortly after the crying child’s death. To that extent, the mimic lab would have been where William first experimented with subterranean locations, AI programming, and the scooper, all things he would later use for Circus Baby’s Pizza World. The scene between Edwin and the mimic, where the mimic is shown holding the Tiger plushie and causes Edwin to break the machine in anger, could have easily happened between William and the mimic too. I mean, the plushie could have been the Fredbear plush that the crying child was known to hold, and that William evident kept with him all the way up to the building of Circus Baby’s rentals. In turn, William breaking the mimic out of anger produces two monsters: one that began his destruction of life with a seemingly emotionless robot, and one that, after infused with those same murderous thoughts through agony, would lead a similar legacy long after the first monster’s death. Even after William was trapped in purgatory, the mimic promised that he would always come back, through a being that reflected his own violent nature. But wait, there’s more! I and a lot of other people have been suspecting that our newest protagonist Jeremy was one of the bullies involved in the Bite of 83, the same event that would lead to the mimic’s creation. Under this theory, our current protagonist and antagonist are connected by a common event, which could easily lead to stronger stories possibilities later down the line (assuming we see more Jeremy, it’s currently up in the air in that regard). But perhaps the most interesting detail is one that’s been staring us in the face all along. When Cassie first meets the mimic in its true form, she asks “who are you?”. The mimic simply repeats “I’m Gregory”. Sure, this line is to build up suspense and has an obvious role in the story. But perhaps there’s something more to that line. Gregory as a character has been presented as a mirror of the crying child, at least on a symbolic level as evident with the hillside images in the Princess Quest and Burntrap endings (I’m leaving the robot Gregory discussion out of this one). What if, through their shared connection to the crying child, Gregory and the mimic had a lot more in common than we thought. What if the mimic really meant it when it said “I’m Gregory”? Please, if anybody sees this, feel free to respond to this post. I really just want more people to think about this, because I have the feeling it might change where we see FNAF’s story heading in the future.
I would strongly dislike if the sister location cast existed in the 70s It makes a lot more sense design wise and lore wise to be around the same time as the toys, 1985 to 1987. It could've opened after Fnaf 2 closed tbh.
Every time I see a theorists speculating on a connection between Circus Baby’s and Fall Fest they always have to point that “carnivals and circuses are not the same thing!”, so at this point I’m just like “What if it’s a circus themed carnival?”
I know this is a bit of a Reach but even though it's strongly hinted that Garrett is inside The Puppet, I saw someone suggest that he could be inside Balloon Boy. He tried to get Mike's attention twice (once after an IT'S ME appearance, I think...).and he could've gotten into Cory's cab to try to go home to Abby. I know Garrett got murdered way before Abby was born but the spirits of Afton's victims are still around and can communicate in various ways sooo...maybe. Like I said, it's a Reach and honestly, Garrett being in The Puppet would make more sense narratively but we'll see what happens in the next movies.
Something I’ve been thinking of is if sister location minigames are in help wanted 2 and glitchtrap is still around isn’t possible that glitchtrap has been around since circus baby’s pizzaplex world, my idea is that basically during Williams experiments with the funtimes he found the mimic1 programming and used to to create a digital version of his own original character (springbonnie) and trained it after himself so in case anything ever happened to him their would technically be another William afton still around, but years later and fazbear entertainment llc would collect the circuit board housing glitchtrap and his malicious code and hand it to silver parasol and when he was input to the Freddy fazbear virtual experience that’s when we first physically see him and how he’s able to infect people playing the game in a VR headset connected to it.
My idea for how the funtimes could possibly still come later in the timeline is that Carnie is an earlier version of the funtimes fall fest could be like a yearly thing that’s been going on for decades, so early on it was the felt suits (similar to the ones under the pizzaplex or glitchtrap) then carnie’s generation was made and later on the funtimes were made to capture the familiarity of the original fest mascots
Do we have evidence that the Circus Baby's Pizza World that was closed due to leaks, was the first/only Circus Baby's location? Is there a possibility, that there were others before it and this one was the first scooper mechanism version of the restaurant? Because if that's possible, it could brigde the gap in the timeline and have the scoopers come in later on.
I think I said this on another video, but this is stuff I've believed for a while too. I think Balloon boy may sound the most human because William recorded Michael as a child. It's his voice used to direct Springtrap in Fnaf 3. Fall Fest was the rebranding after the Circus Baby Pizzaria scandal & Chica's quote about being the first was because she replaced Elizabeth/Baby as the vocalist & was a Henry creation. Foxy was next because he took his refined elegant character & downgraded him. Fall Fest may also have been one of the founder's kid's birthdays since most events take place during a birthday.
I remember a fnaf theorist found information that the claw machines was Williams first work, it was a long time ago but now I believe it if William intended to build the funtimes this early by your timeline
BB and Circus Baby have the most simulair nose out of all clown noses: they're not round and ball-like but triangular with a reddish colour (unlike most other humanoids)
I mean there have been so many circus/carnival/jester characters lately. All circus baby’s world, Sun and Moon, bb and possibly even more characters might’ve been our earliest ever characters and one cool carnival game.
Belora seems like she’s based on a circus performer (acrobat, tightrope walker, part of the animal act where they stand on horses or elephants, etc) So some of the Funtimes may have been based on performers instead of costumed characters. They were created after the franchise had gone in the direction of animatronics, and as they were likely thinking of ideas on how to expand. Balloon Boy and the drink clowns don’t have the aesthetic of the funtimes, and aren’t really animatronics. They are more decorative. So, perhaps at Fredbear’s Family Diner, decor elements from Fall Fest rolled over. So while the mascots were the stars, balloon boy and the drink clowns were hold overs. BB and his variants seem like they could work like signage. A “you must be this tall to ride” or “the line starts here”. He’d be like a proto Helpy, a friendly face helping people navigate the fall fest, and later Fredbear’s Family Diner and Circus Baby’s. Timeline wise: I can see the restaurant for Circus Baby coming on the heels of Fredbear’s closing, with the rental opening after the first Freddy’s closed. By the time of FNAF2, it seems that people suspect William enough to ban former employees and such. So Afton getting approval to create animatronics would be earlier in the timeline. Coming of the heels of Freddy’s successful opening, and an opportunity created by the closure of Fredbear’s, Afton would be in a great position to pitch a new restaurant. He could even spin it at not having Henry involved and thus throwing him under the bus for the closure of Fredbear’s in the eyes of the investors. So I think an order of events that can work: CC > Charlie > Elizabeth > MCI The Funtimes were meant to kidnap to find test subjects for the experiments. William, at that point, was trying to understand what happened between Charlie and the Puppet after his crime of passion. The failure of the Funtimes (or success depending on how you look at it) convinced William that fear wasn’t enough, the person needed to die for the animatronic to come to life. So the MCI occurs, he starts renting out the Funtimes to try and continue killing but finds it doesn’t work like the MCI or Elizabeth or Charlie. That leads to the DCI, which again fails to create new haunted animatronics. However, observing the behaviour of the withereds and how the toys act when withered parts are introduced, leads to Afton’s next plan: collecting the endos as seen in follow me.
Help Wanted 2's main selling point was the inclusion of Security Breach and Sister Location elements, which is probably why Ruin had to many references to the latter, it was foreshadowing. So it's pretty safe to say that Help Wanted 2 is also foreshadowing the next game, which will most likely be Fall Fest.
It could be that even if the Circus Baby cast existed as characters way in the beginning, the actual restaurant still didn't open until later in the timeline, and the child-nabbing Funtimes were just updated models.
This would also explain why afton is pitching baby at the beginning of sister location, where the people are asking about the design changes on baby. Those people originally held the rights to these characters at fall fest.
With the recent secret of the mimic game being announced, I’m really hoping we get more hints of Fall fest and the circus themed characters. I’ve always been interested with BBs origins and I think the new game might answer some questions✨
“What’s up with that little freak, ballon boy?” Is such a strong opening line for a video, obsessed

Nightmare balloon boy confirms that balloon boy already existed before 1987
Wanna know the toys are possessed because of the dci but is balloon boy AI are possessed
@LaggingThelaggerok well then what happen to the save them victims ? Do their bodies lay on thé ground? You gotta answer
I'm just saying that because he doesn't attack you because he's made of metal theoretically he would be able to hold down a human
For all the Sploff's fans: we must rewatch the clown video 😂
the fall fest made me think of the nightmare animatronics. maybe a Halloween event but this is just a idea.
I feel like a Circus or Carnival theme would GREAT idea for a mascot horror game like FNAF
my theory is that funtime animatronics and balloon boy and all the others you talked about their characters were made for fall fest but then after some time afton has remade the most loved animatronics and balloon boy could be one a leftover animatronic from the fall fest that was fixed and repurposed before (or after) circus baby’s was supposed to open
The only vestige left of it in the full game is the Mimic's musical theme being vaguely carnival-like.
why are we assuming that the funtimes started out as kidnapping animatronics couldn't they have been made later on to be that way?
5:02 SPIFFFFFFFFFFFF
this theory has giving me an idea
may be originally the funtimes were just suits for performers to wear
over time ( possibly due to chica's party world ) the main business switched to animatronics and pizza restaurants and the costumes were forgotten about.
then when William was doing his secret projects he created the funtimes based of the old circus suits from back in the day.
honestly this is just what I think about it.
3:20 I don't know about any experiments, I believe FNAF 4 Gameplay is Michael's Nightmare during FNAF 1 where he's on the place of CC in these Nightmares, must be influence of Golden Freddy
fnaf is 100% trying to get us all crazy abt circus and carnival stuff and unless its just a big troll i agree that we're going there next
We know literally nothing about Mrs. Afton.
What if she's the first death at fall fest. A way to make Henry's speech in PizzaSim make sense is make Mrs. Afton related to him(family, ex, secret pining love interest). Gives William a reason to look into spirits and remnant. Though, it would make CC at least 13yo by '83.🤔
Yeah!
Obviously you can't mention Fruit Punch Clown without showing Spigg's any% clown ffps runs
Excellent theory as always also good ear for background music, Spyro 1’s OST is one of my favorites Copeland is a genius
I love this theory! I adore that it's an opportunity to take a whole different perspective on the events and timeline of the franchise by focusing in on elements often overlooked, i.e. balloon boy. Definitely some interesting food for thought
YESS SPIFF MY FAVORITE RUclipsR
Balloon Boy: from annoying to important😅
We talked about Mimic-Baby, but what about Mimic-Balloon Boy?
I always thought that maybe the Toy animatronics were built by Afton Robotics LLC for the Freddy’s location in 1987. It would explain the similar design of Funtime Foxy to Mangle.
for a moment i thought that he will comment that at that table with the afton family as staff bots mike's has a balloon boy hat, sort of implying that he is based on micheal just like baby was based on elizabeth
I love how on the thumbnail that he's mar3 to appear like the grinch. Also trying to articulate while just waking up is hard 😂
i literally screamed spiff when i saw spiff
I miss mangle
That's the whole comment
They better bring them back
Same
balloon boy having sharingan
I've had a theory for a while now that he was the early version of the mimic that plays with the kid

SPIGG SPOTTED
I would strongly dislike if the sister location cast existed in the 70s It makes a lot more sense design wise and lore wise to be around the same time as the toys, 1985 to 1987. It could've opened after Fnaf 2 closed tbh.
Every time I see a theorists speculating on a connection between Circus Baby’s and Fall Fest they always have to point that “carnivals and circuses are not the same thing!”, so at this point I’m just like “What if it’s a circus themed carnival?”
I love this channel sm.
Carnivals and circuses are different... but you CAN have a circus at a carnival.
Not sure why people act like they are mutually exclusive.
I would love to see a theory more in depth about Charlie and fnaf world!! It’s an explanation I’ve never heard before actually
Spigg spotted!!!! Fruit puncha for everyone
So just finished the last FNAF Game Theory video. Turns out it was RyeToast the entire time. Congratulations!
Because if that's possible, it could brigde the gap in the timeline and have the scoopers come in later on.
if what you saying is true that would mean that William built the funtimes as a security puppet replacement/precursor
Today is MatPat last fnaf theory 😢😢😢
Astralspiff crossover😮

BB and Circus Baby have the most simulair nose out of all clown noses:
they're not round and ball-like but triangular with a reddish colour (unlike most other humanoids)
I mean there have been so many circus/carnival/jester characters lately. All circus baby’s world, Sun and Moon, bb and possibly even more characters might’ve been our earliest ever characters and one cool carnival game.
Looks like a fun video :) (But geez, the BB slander in the thumbnail :( )
even back in "Fury''s Rage" by Scott there is a bit that shows a circus in a level and Scrap trap laying in a alley!
Amazing Job On This Theory About Balloon Boy RyeToast !
Saving this video for later 'cause I cannot miss out on Balloon Boy lore
Balloon Boy did the bite of 87
OH god now everything is connected
Belora seems like she’s based on a circus performer (acrobat, tightrope walker, part of the animal act where they stand on horses or elephants, etc)
So some of the Funtimes may have been based on performers instead of costumed characters.
So I think an order of events that can work: CC > Charlie > Elizabeth > MCI
The Funtimes were meant to kidnap to find test subjects for the experiments.
13:34 this makes sense because we can almost all agree that baby is clearly a Henry animatronic
Your videos are addictive i could listen to u all day😊.
This would also explain why afton is pitching baby at the beginning of sister location, where the people are asking about the design changes on baby. Those people originally held the rights to these characters at fall fest.
Isn’t the next game into the pit? Maybe it’s the game after?
With the recent secret of the mimic game being announced, I’m really hoping we get more hints of Fall fest and the circus themed characters. I’ve always been interested with BBs origins and I think the new game might answer some questions✨
