Hey Nick, Your channel has helped me so much! Ive been watching for about two years now! I went straight from high school to wyotech and graduated now im a full time tech at Audi! My first day was learning the shop and how to do paper work and all the computer work, as well as a few hands on jobs doing oil changes, multi point inspections and tires!

First day at the shop was a biiitch sorry for the language, but i started as an entry level tech and the boss knew before hiring me what kind of experience i had, this guy put me to do a heater core replacement on a 2014 528i, never knew or had any practice beforehand to do this type of job, so it took me about a whole week to disassemble & assemble the entire dash and center console with no training. Learned it on my own but i was close to quitting of frustration figuring it out on my own. But as passionate as i am for BMW i pulled through it 🔧

All this is true, only guys please make sure you don't ask more than once maximum 2 times for the same thing. I also started as a lube tech and progressed pretty fast for one year. The biggest way to learn diagnostics is first to read and understand how things should work and how the system check itself and throws engine codes( very often code is for completely different part far far away from the faulty one- example Toyota with Lean codes and code for MAF sensor, problem was faulty upstream o2 sensor ). Also for me was essential other guys to leave me alone for 30 min to deal with the problem, before giving me hints. In the begging right after the code scan they were saying "oooo look for this or that , or check for pinched wire " - and my response was NOOOO wait let me try to figure it out by myself after that you can tell me what to look for if I can't figure it out.
