Outstanding coverage, thank you! Today’s drone footage was awesome! The ultimate in multitasking! ¥I’m so glad I’m watching it from the comfort of my couch in front of the fire!
Sunny Sunday greetings from Germany, dear Mark. The race keeps one glued to the tracker and devoted to your channel. Many thanks for your daily update. ❤ it so much!!!!
Thank your for the update, even on Sunday. I appreciate your effort and don't miss one single video. I am rooting for Boris / Malizia since day 1! Happy to see him finally catch up a bit. 🇩🇪🎉❤
Finally some excitement on the horizon. Following the VdG since the 96/97 edition, and this one has been slightly boring since the North Atlantic Le Cam breakaway South and all other boats going West, then bunching up, then the series of 24 hour records was exciting. Since then, it became a bit bureaucratic; reminding me a bit like the days when Formula One racing was a procession and cars rarely passed other cars. But things are about to improve, it seems. This channel has been one of the great aspects for this edition of the VdG, very clear and to the point. Thank you.
we see sailors attached to a cable incase they fall overboard....... but once in the water attached to the cable and dragged at 20 knots in the water, how is the sailor suposed to get back on the boat ? anyone knows?
@@gerardboorsma3418 sure but being dragged in the water at 20 knots, probabbly banging on the side of the boat, impossible to see or even breath properly I can t see how a man could even start getting the remote out . How can they even come back on board once they fall off, attached to the boat by a rope.... anyone knows ?
I remember years ago talking with a friend who crewed on a round the world race aboard a 100' cat. They did not wear harnesses because they would be killed by them at 30+ kn. They knew they would never be recovered alive by the time the boat got turned around and back to them so they wore a knife around their neck to end their suffering. The thought of this is chilling enough that on my cat with my harness on I can't get near any edge on the boat.
Allow me - if you please - a really stupid question: What do these racers use to take the "off-boat" video shots? Do they use drones - or are these 'AI' shots, identical to these new 'surround-view cameras' one can find on newer cars, which even display the pictures on the monitor taken from the top down? Your response{s} will be greatly appreciated. Regards from Alaska (PEI)...Canada's smallest Province
You hate Charlie Dalin. You made him turn north 2 days ago and the competition is catching up. You want to stop him from winning the race at all costs. Вы ненавидите Шарля Далина. Вы заставили его повернуть на север 2 дня назад, и соперники догоняют. Вы хотите любым путем не дать ему выиграть гонку.

Great coverage! Can you talk about the guy that’s in last place and what’s going on with him?

terrific update - it's turning into a global round the bouys race😏
Super video. Does each skipper become experts in drone video?
Great coverage thanks🌊👍

@@chicobicalho5621 I've been hooked the whole time, but it does look like the next few days could be very interesting!
Thanks
Super updates, is the drone footage done during the race by the skips or pre-race “stock” footage provided by the committees behind each boat?
I have the same question
Would love to hear about the very back of the pack!
Any idea what model / make/ type of drones they are using? It’s always fantastic footage. Thank you.
Very similar to astronauts in space with their meal packets.
Love your updates. I just wish they were longer.
@@ravicabral2522 there's a limit to how much I can do every day!
The skill required to stay sailing at top levels is phenomenal, but at the end of the day, it's really all about the luck of the wind.
@@Ranchpig67 I think luck does come into it, but the cream tends to rise to the top, thanks to good navigational decisions
Amazing.... Skipers e barcos inacreditáveis.... que loucura a velocidade e estabilidade. E ainda conseguem voar um drone para filmar 😮
The Richard Gladwell sliding graphic analysis is not understandable ... could you explain it in your next videos ? Thank you
These droneshots are b-roll for reference, are they? I cant imagine them being such swift drone pilots as well.

They should wear a remote control for the autopilot to change the heading of the boat and slow it down....

Can I find the 4 hour distance for each boat on the Vendee site?

He's got a very good chance of making huge gains over the coming days

The footage of Charlie Dalin is from before the race as he gave us an audio-only update
a drone
Thank you Mark, that really helped us fathom the footage that accompanies his audio 💫
