DNB should work as senior registrar at the academic centers or should be given a junior consultant job with restricted privileges for three years or Pursue a fellowship to be eligible for assistant prof or consultant. This shall equate our Surg standards with higher surgical training in Europe and North America ( 6-8 years )

Niladri Khamrui congratulations. ESI has reasonably good exposure. They also have a bond of one year post PG - that means you need to work as a senior resident for one year in an ESI hospital in delhi

Likhith Ram Rathod that’s not true. Aiims delhi is a good mix of hands on and academics. Same is true for Jipmer. PGI is one place where hands on is less

I am from Hyderabad and I have got a AIR 1401.. I want to know between BJMC ahmedabad and Gandhi Hyderabad and LOKAMANYA TILAK , MUMBAI which is the better option ... Do I choose the college solely based on the fact that I am from Hyderabad and I know the language .... or base on work load... seniors are suggesting all colleges have pretty good work load ... some say BJMC has more work load... not getting the courage to choose between the above three .... and all the three have been allotted to my rank in last year allotment ..... please help me sir..

I heard dnb is best only for medicine courses but for surgery not good enough because they won't allow to trainee to perform cases of surgery on patients

@@lefthandedsurgeon Thank you sir, I'm working as a RMO in Medicine Dept. of my hospital since last 2yrs, but I still feel I haven't given my full fledged attempt...but I cannot afford taking a whole year drop as my parents have retired & I feel depressing to sit for a whole year putting myself and family under financial & mental pressure.
But at the same time, I'm also not confident enough of getting a rank required for securing an MD Medicine seat in govt college & nor do I wish to spend lakhs for my PG by taking in a Pvt college.
Some people have recommended me about DNB (Family Medicine), but I don't know what it holds for me as a future prospective.
Could you please throw light on DNB (family med) course if I take in my next year attempt, if I manage to get a rank near 40k's

Sir is it necessary to do MS from central institutes or institutes in Tier 1 cities to become a good surgeon or clearing exams like MRCS?
Mohidul Islam not necessarily. You can always acquire skills later on as well. College matters but it is not everything when it comes to practice

sir how can i identify myself being too passionate about neurosurgery? for example i like neuroanatomy, physio, pathology related and surgical aspects of it and also liked the management of trauma patients in surgical wards, so is that enough for me to call myself passionate about neurosurgery?
