    CORRECTION! I made a mistake when I was making the slide for after April 1st. E1 should have said $2,319 and not $2,752. That was the before April pay of an E4 and I think I copied that slide to edit for this one.

      Set personal and military and legitimately work towards them. People are willing to help you when they see you making a positive effort. I would recommend putting 7-10% in a savings account and contributing 5% to TSP each month. Your first two years are the most important, especially if you decide to get out after your first enlistment.

      2.Use process of elimination on questions you are iffy on.
      3.Put a limit on the time you take for each question.(Easy= 1 minute or less Difficult=3 minutes or less)
      4.Find a good pace and keep yourself alert.(the longer you take the more you second guess the more likely you are to answer incorrectly.)
      This method doesn't work for everyone so just try it with a practice test and if it does work for you keep it.

    • @golfery5119
      @golfery5119 4 дня назад +1

      The only serious advice anyone can give you is to think not just with your heart, but think with your brain. Use common sense and logic.
      At 37 years old, even if you are in super fantastic physical shape, it is not a great idea to join the military at that late of an age.
      If you are really serious about joining the military at that late of aj age, it would be best for you to try to avoid the Army.
      At your age if you want to join the military, join the Air Force or the Coast Guard if at all possible.
      Try not to join the Army at your age. Its not about how great of shape you are physically. Its about mentally. This is no disrespect to the Army, but you have to look at what the Army is about vs what the other branches are about.
      You will, this is not an opinion, this is an objective fact, YOU WILL be treated more like a CHILD to a worse degree in the Army compared to the other branches of the military. That is an objective FACT. You will have more restrictions in the Army that wont accommodate you as someone that much older compared to the other branches of the military.
      The Army is geared more towards younger kids, while the other branches especially the Air Force and Coast Guard are geared toward a much more mature crowd, which is why they treat their people with much more maturity than the Army treats lower ranking soldiers.
      If you still insist that you dont want to take this advice into consideration, and you have to do Army only, consider national guard or reserves.
      You are going to regret enlisting in the Army at that late of an age to a much worse degree than Air Force or Coast Guard, especially if you do active duty, and especially if you end up in what is called "forscom" which is the stupidest part od the Army.
      Fuck around and find out .
      Take this into consideration.

      You have two options: 1. Do what everyone else here is saying n with the GI bill and have it covered after you leave the military. OR 2. While in the military use the TA (tuition assistance) program for online college. Then you just saved urself a few years of study. You only get a fixed amount of TA money each year (I believe it’s 4k this year) but there are colleges such as university of Maryland global campus or Perdue global campus that have fixed military tuition rates that coincide with how much TA we get. It’s perfect, I’d give it a shot.

      @@Scoutsout5988what you said in your last sentence about being given a brief briefing in reception is crazy because a recruit is going to be so worn out that he/she is plain and simple not going to remember it.
      As for getting a support mos, i wouldnt rely on that either because this is still the Army and you still would likely get assigned to a forscom unit and that unit could still have a high optempo where youll constantly be in the field like crazy.
      While this still can be done, the best bet is just to avoid the army altogether and go air force and get any kind of job other than flight mechanic or security forces. You wont be as busy and you wont go to the field like you would with army or marines. But hardly anybody is going to listen.

    I’m currently enlisted waiting to ship in March for OSUT what about Bonus for the contracts we signed for mos with our base pay I know bonus gets taxed

    • @raggierock2848
      @raggierock2848 5 дней назад

      From what I was told it changes based on amount.$10k or less was a lump sum taxed.
      More than that was split over the years of contract. So 20k after training would be split for four years and would be a 5k bonus per year taxed based on your tax bracket.
      I'm not 100% certain but, this is what I was told from two different branches (Army and Navy)

    How Does Federal and State Taxes work if you are stationed to an overseas base? Thanks

    • @christopherchaos
      @christopherchaos  6 дней назад +2

      In the military it does not matter where you are stationed because it goes off where you are a resident of. So if you are from Texas and a Texas resident then state taxes are taken out based on your states policy and federal is still the same too.

      Not sure for all branches but for the Army you can't join active duty as a single parent. You will have to give up your custody to the other parent and then be treated as a single soldier with no kids. You can still join the reserves or national guard though.
