The only serious advice anyone can give you is to think not just with your heart, but think with your brain. Use common sense and logic. At 37 years old, even if you are in super fantastic physical shape, it is not a great idea to join the military at that late of an age. You have two options: 1. Do what everyone else here is saying n with the GI bill and have it covered after you leave the military. OR 2. While in the military use the TA (tuition assistance) program for online college. Then you just saved urself a few years of study. In the military it does not matter where you are stationed because it goes off where you are a resident of. So if you are from Texas and a Texas resident then state taxes are taken out based on your states policy and federal is still the same too.
Not sure for all branches but for the Army you can't join active duty as a single parent. You will have to give up your custody to the other parent and then be treated as a single soldier with no kids. You can still join the reserves or national guard though.
Thanks for another great one! Will these increases apply to current service-members or someone enlisting in the beginning of 2025 when April rolls out?
Question regarding becoming an officer. They says officers needs a bachelors degree to commission. What subject does that bachelor degree need to be in.
You have to qualify for it based on a doctor on base recommending it. I had a couple of solders do it and it was covered but they had to have something like 2 years or more left in the Army.

How Does Federal and State Taxes work if you are stationed to an overseas base? Thanks
In the military it does not matter where you are stationed because it goes off where you are a resident of. So if you are from Texas and a Texas resident then state taxes are taken out based on your states policy and federal is still the same too.
Texas no state taxes
Bout time they actually increase the pay like holy hell they never have paid good still don’t
How much would someone make with a wife and 1 kid living in Los Angeles California? Navy.
so if you are E1 and you have 2 kids but not married how gonna be your pay?
Not sure for all branches but for the Army you can't join active duty as a single parent. You will have to give up your custody to the other parent and then be treated as a single soldier with no kids. You can still join the reserves or national guard though.
Thanks for another great one! Will these increases apply to current service-members or someone enlisting in the beginning of 2025 when April rolls out?
This is the pay chart for everyone in the military. Current and those joining in 2025.
@christopherchaos solid
So do you get back pay if you start before April 1? Or they are using the tax year?
No. It's another pay raise that starts April 1st.
Question regarding becoming an officer. They says officers needs a bachelors degree to commission. What subject does that bachelor degree need to be in.
@@davidjensen6002 it doesn’t matter, it can be anything
Our infantry lieutenant had his degree in music!
I ship out Janaury 7th. Fort Leonardwood
How much do green berets or 75th regiment make on top of normal pays? Thanks!
It would really just be a little extra for jump pay and then maybe some extra pay based on deployments they are going on.
Tricare will cover LASIK? I was searching for more information on this and everything I found says it doesn't.
You have to qualify for it based on a doctor on base recommending it. I had a couple of solders do it and it was covered but they had to have something like 2 years or more left in the Army.
@christopherchaos got it. Thanks. Leaving for Fort Sill for Basic Training at the end of this month. I enlisted with the National Guard so maybe it'll be a little different than it would be with Active Duty? But I'll check with the doctors as soon as I get back from AIT in August. Thanks for all your videos, they've been extremely helpful.
Leaving out January 21, fort Moore
Sorry if i missed it but im going to be joining in a month or so do i still get it?
Id someone goes to fat camp for 3 months in the army do they still get paid during those months or until they finish and then get paid in basic training? Please and thank you
just curious when does the pay officially start?..... ( Got bills to pay and cant afford to miss much time) Inflation is real out here thank you
They get paid
Hey I've watched allot of your videos on a different account this is embarrassing but I've wanted to enlist for a long time I'm 25 male I recently got a cold sore didn't think anything of it then later got tested for stds and found out I have hsv 1 freaked out went to the er and they said I'll be fine and prescribed me meds I was wondering if I should tell my recruiter or keep my mouth shut I've googled it and I can't find a definite answer only that 80% of the world's population has it
From my knowledge the military does not care if someone has an STD. The only one they might care about would be HIV or AIDS but ultimately it comes down to your physical at MEPS and the doctor.
@ thank you
how much is the taxes they take from you?
Depends on a lot of factors like what state you are a resident of, your pay grade, do you claim any dependents and more.
Hey Chris, I know you said it doesn’t matter, but do you have an Answer for what I’d be making as a Navy Diver? Or would it be the same?
Quick Question, so does E-1 get paid more than E-2 after april?
No.
Space Force Jan 7th! 🫡
I’m gonna join navy branch but my English is not so prefect like my English level es b2 between c1 . Is it still possible to join navy bro please answer this question.
So I’m joining in february, will I get a raise in april ?
Nope
Yes you will. All E-1 to E-5 will get the raise on April 1 regardless of when you joined. They are not going to give some people raises based on when they joined and deny the others. That's silly.
what is pay round about after tax when you are in ford benning
Depends on what state you reside in.
@@lelandgaunt9985 ford benning is GA
One of the dumbest decisions someone can make for multiple reasons.
e1 makes more than e2 come april first?
It was a typo.. E1 should have said $2,319 and not $2,752. That was the before April pay of an E4 and I think I copied that slide to edit for this one.
E-1 1973 $310.00😂
Not much
Wait so after April 1st an E-1 is getting paid more than an E-2??? What the heck is congress thinking?
I think bro got numbers mixed up
Make a video on who you're supposed to salute and who to not salute.
