    First exhaust i ever did, i never took into account that the suspension was not loaded. i welded up a slick dual exhaust, set the car on the ground and. whammo. exhaust had a 1/2" of ground clearance, hit a speed bump on the maiden voyage and dragged my shame back to my garage in fort sask. lol. next exhaust i did, i basically skipped hangers and almost welded the exhaust tubing to the sheetmetal under the car. she had clearance then i tell ya.

    How does the muffler kill the turbo whistle?

    • @builtbybo22
      @builtbybo22  Год назад +2

      Well....the best way to describe it is that the "Muffler" is doing its job by quietening the exhaust noise down. Unlike a supercharger, that causes whining noises from the internal gear clearances... The turbo whistle is caused by the turbine exhaust flow movement inside the housing, so the shorter, More free flowing, and open the exhaust is will cause the loudness of the whistle heard.

      @@builtbybo22 So, the muffler you were using was restrictive. Makes sense.

    • @builtbybo22
      @builtbybo22  Год назад +2

      @@TOTA_777 it was a straight through flowing Bullet style muffler.

      @@builtbybo22 Huh…you’d think that low restriction muffler would’ve made it louder, not killed it.

      @@TOTA_777 Just to clarify, The first start up was on about 12” of 3” down pipe only, so the Turbo whistle was quite loud. Anything added to the exhaust after technically is a restriction and would make it quieter.

      @@builtbybo22 what about the gauges?

    • @builtbybo22
      @builtbybo22  2 года назад +3

      Boost gauge is an Autometer, (I try to stay with brand name gauges) and Air fuel gauge (AFR) is from a company called Innovate which is also a quality piece. You don’t want cheap gauges if your relying on them to protect your investment. 👍
