Awesome video! I really appreciate how much work you are putting into these beautiful little fish. And until I saw this video, I didn't even know that a long thin variation existed! These are definitely my favorite fish too, I have much less experience with them but I've been breeding them for about 2 years now. Thank you for the video! You bring a lot of knowledge to the aquarium hobby and I appreciate that! It helps for new people like me

My local petsmart started carrying them sometime in the last year or two, and it's named as galaxy rasbora there as well.

When I take the cup out, I don't use my fingers. I use my long handled tweezers. As time goes on I use less marbles, I use marbles not gravel. It works for me. You video is awful good, I hope you keep them coming. Your long-fins look good. How long did it take to get them to breed long fins. Good video. And Thank you.

I found it a lot easier to put a few adults in a tank and then remove them. Then everything else takes care itself.

Great video. Love CPD"s, been keeping them since around 2007-8 when they first hit the scene. Our grow out tanks are twins; at least for species composition - luminatus and cpd do great together in room temp water. Check out my continuous setup. I use sera micron dry food and infusoria as first foods. The infusoria makes a big difference for growth as I can't feed frequently during the day do to my work schedule. I suspect you've tried infusoria before and ran into the inconsistency and mean stank issues. Check out FishEZ's paramecium culture method, it is the absolute bomb. Completely reliable and no more stank. Keep up the good work! The long fins are awesome!

I'm just trying to breed cpd,s at the moment iv breed the once in once or twice in the past but lost a load of babys had about 50 then only was left with 6 or 7 in the end . I'm trying to run 3 or 4 tanks with no heaters because of the cost of living and the energy in the UK is so expensive . have you breed these fish in low temperatures my tanks are running low 60,s there running 62 to 65 I no this is really cold I'm just thinking the eggs won't stay alive or thay won't breed because it's too cold iv been feeding the adults live baby brine for 3 days now and iv had no eggs yet ...

@@fishgeekgirl hi ....thanks for the reply iv put heaters in both of the tanks now it was getting to cold for them. Both the tanks are running at about 70 to 72 so I'm good with the temperature now , I'm just really having trouble getting any eggs this time. something I'm doing it wrong . iv had 8 adult cpd,s in a 10 gallon bear bottom tank with a bowl of java moss in the middle of the tank for a week now my kh is 3 dkh iv been feeding live brine shrimp and frozen Cyclops and iv been checking the bowl daily but I haven't had one egg yet ...I'm not running a air stone of pump in the tank just a heater do you think I need a air stone in the tank for some movement ? Any other ideas would be grateful ?
      Thanks lee
