Nordic Ambient Music

- NOTE: The old video is back, but the copyright sections are still muted. Just gonna leave everything as is because people have playlists
have to add this note because people keep bitching: yeah, this isn't literally nordic music. I didn't come up with the name. There's a bit of a story behind the upload and it's too late now to change it. Long story short 'Nordic Ambient Music' was the name of a skyrim mod. Ulf Soderberg, the badass dude who made this music, is from Sweden and classifies it as 'dark and tribal ambient'
previous video was muted by youtube, reupload with 'problem' tracks removed

Ulf Söderberg and Sephirot (same artist different melodies)
Yesternight, I put on this in the background as a thunderstorm engulfed the night sky for hours on end. What an experience.
That must be a greatfull experience!!

I have to say something.... I've been listening to this mix (or some version of it) in particular for over 4 years now. This has been one of the best I have come across. The pacing is incredible and the tempo is exactly what I want when I need to focus and get work done. Thank you for posting.
Wow you are amazing keeping this up for 4 whole years. I wish you achieve all your dreams listening to this masterpiece
Same here
Me too, around the same time.
Same, I stumble upon this mix so many times always when I want do discover deeper versions within me, and it awakens something inside of me I cannot describe. It’s so intense I love it
I have first version downloaded and its keep living on 4 generations of my phones. And I always check if sent it to new one. In the beging i had trips while listening to this masterpiece. Like i was so relaxed that i couldn't feel or move my legs 😂
If you are here listening to this, you are very different than others. Be grateful for that.
There is just something about this kind of dark ambient that manages to create intricate realm of otherworldliness
Well said
I agree!
Matti Paalanen - celtic music - epic music
It makes us feel one with our suffering and anguish, and yet allows us to envision what could be
This music hasn't nothing dark. God didn't created bad or good music omif you prefer this answering
They were bright pagans.
That picture is from my hometown! :D
It's called "Sverd i fjell"
🇳🇴
what the actual fuck is with your stupid name.
I think the truth?
looks like "sword i fell." maybe some viking sat on a sword and that place is forever in his name.
Sverd i fjell means sword in the mountain.

I like this. Perfect for my studying in medical school. I feel lonely, dark, isolated. This music gives me the dark energy I need.
you are a medic, not an alchemist xd
Sounds like you're studying on dead bodies...
Don't turn into SCP 049 alright?
Music is the food of the mind
Also good for studying law
8:00 best part in my opinion, the atmosphere makes me feel close to the Gods. Especially when listening while walking in the mountains. So empowering...
9.32 best part 4 me
Gods? You don't believe one God made everything you see when walking?
YES!
@@ilovetomorrow It's Nordic music. Comes from a type of people that believed in numerous gods, not necessarily the one Christian God. So I believe that when DEADTOXIN mentioned that he feels close to the Gods I am assuming he is meaning the ones that the Vikings and the Norse believed in.
@@adriahaddy258, what ones? I believe we'll never know until he answers.
I'm half Celtic, half Nordic. This music stirs the soul and resonates with something primal, deep within.
sounds bad, i hope its not gastroenteritis. good luck my friend
@@Metralhas i have even worse than that.........................
jajajajajajaja
the need to drink WHISKY not whiskey!
half shit
this music wakes something up inside me, thats the best way I can describe it
Me too. It's probably my Norwegian ancestors inside of me. This music awakens them!
Wonder what they'd think of the current Muslim invasion?
If Sweden is any indication? That's a-o-kay.
FIRE UP THE TIGER TANK
ohoooo
this is true
This music makes me so proud to be a Viking, which i'm actually not
I’m Asian and this makes me feel like I’m a descendant of a great Viking warrior.
Remember...Vikings weren't a specific race! Vikings were literally the Pirates and Sea Raiders of the north.

my great grandmother was Norwegian and I have to admit that every time I listen to this kind of music I feel like I am home❤
I am listening this since ~2012-2014, don't remember when this compilation was created. Still dope bg music for work and hobbies.
I fell asleep to this, woke up with a full beard and loot from an English monastery
This is so funny can’t believe it doesn’t have more likes. I woke up with a chest of gold and a very confused monk
😂 nice!
This vidéo help me to sleep for 5 years now. thanks dude!
This is pure mindfulness
16:20 is so damn beautiful
Like you're the only one of your kind exploring the remnants of your lost civilization
YEAH, and the women singing gives this spine chilling effect, like the Gods and Goddesses themselves are before you
The title would translate to something like 'Temple and Cathedral rise from the depths'. It really gives off those vibes. Ulf Söderberg's best song in my opinion.
@@jormunganir3517 that it does and it is very fitting. They have incredible music
👍🏻that's the part with goosebumps 🎉
This playlist is my personal definition of happiness. It brings me creativity and peace of mind. Thank you for creating it
Drums at the beginning were amazing. I could listen to those for hours.
Omg i was so shocked, when it was removed from my playlist! I was about to freak out, because this was like my favorite nordic-mix! So glad you reuploaded this!

I wonder why it was taken down to begin with.
Beautiful, powerful and haunting. This is music of ancient spirit, an echo of time, shattered deep within... and resurfaces like a waking, primordial dream.
Thank you very much.
I am proud of this music. I'm happy to be a Caucasian with roots all over Europe. I love many cultures worldwide, but nothing can haunt you like your own history.
I believe in past lives too, and who knows, perhaps many of us were indeed in these simpler, more "barbaric" times.
Either way, we have come full circle.
Rip off the plastic, and become Whole again.
In other words:
Embrace the beauty and totality of what you are.
Ulf is amazing. Many thanks!
Love from Canada ❤✌
Been listening to this at least once a month since discovering it back in 2012. That's 12 years of me knowing that whenever I need to sit down and get shit done for ~2 hours, I'll be in good company. Thank you.
This is incredibly evocative. I am sailing fjords and staring at snowy mountain mists...
More, please!
first track(Ulf Söderberg - Tidvatten part II) is just out of this world. can't get enough of it
WattaPork beråtta mer.
Agree completely. Utterly sublime.
This is by far the most atmospheric and classy nordic ambient mix on youtube. It accompanies me for years now. Thanks so much for sharing!

+Regardt van Zyl There is not much I can really do, but I can offer you this link that may possibly help: forum.step-project.com/topic/231-nordic-ambient-music/
I may not be the best person to ask regarding that, but I bet you'll find some other way to be successful with your music if the link turns out to be useless or obsolete.
P.S. Sorry I took so long to reply, this is the first time I've actually seen your comment.
Also i want to say that like many others have said i have been listening to this for about 6 years. I lost it for a while and finally just found it. This song has made me want to charge into battle, its made me cry. Its made me smile with the lord allmighty. Skal brothers
Best music for playing Valheim!
Im doing the same! Wonderfull music and game
Perfect for ambient effect in a D&D session. Helps set the mood.

This music just takes me to a place I've never been before. As a musician certain artists or songs will strike a chord. I'm nowhere close to being Scandinavian but I feel that I am when listening to this. Thank You 🎵
I have been searching for this kind of music for a couple of years. Listen to Hearts of Space on Sunday nights/NPR station and heard something by this guy. Not sure it is this one but it does the something - some sort of otherworldly transportation...another time and place. I view this kind of music as therapy and love it. Slower, away from the drone of life, errands and such.
I found this selection about a month ago. Of all the Nordic music, this was the best, in my opinion. Had to play it every day, then it was gone! Thank you so much for bringing it back.
Forgot just how Much I Adore and Looove this kind of music. Definitely a grate deep meditative tone for Dark moody Nights or Rainy days.
Holy fuck, this is one of my favourite music pieces on youtube and had no idea it was gone, THANK YOU SO MUCH for re-uploading, its a shame though, your previous video had like 2 million views.
I'll subscribe to you now. just as a way of showing thanks.
I am insanely proud of my heritage and the rich, rich history we have up here in the north.
I'm a celtic myself (based close to brussels) :)
SKÄL !
These sounds make me feel something I never felt before, I'm even unable to name it. Like from a different planet or dimension, incredible.
This is amazing. The music is perfectly evocative, expansive, and mysterious.
Here I found out about Ulf Söderberg - a great composer. The music is very inspiring and powerful. Thank you for the upload and re-upload!
Major props here. I listen to this every weekend when I play Age of Empires 2 or practice my swordsmanship. The entire mix has such otherworldly power and awe associated with it.

Man there's something special about Nordic music. Nothing cuts through to my soul the same. There's something so beautifully primal about it yet at the same time relaxing....
Also, at the part that is marked ====Unknown==== is entitled "Ammons Hav" by Ulf Soderberg and begins at 1:54:15

This mix make me feel so strange, i cant describe this emotion..
Fox Wwf Member it's a primitive feeling... It's timeless, magical, organic. It's like a call of something or someone...
yeah, Primal is the word.
This is the ultimate ambient mix for paintig brooding landscape paintings. Thanks for posting this because this is going straight on replay !
This music is so hauntingly beautiful. Makes me feel as if I am running through a brilliantly green forest in a black cloak and as I run the landscape changes with me and the colors of my cloak get brighter and brighter from black to green to yellow to white and then I'm standing still in the middle of this black forest in my white cloak. As if I have become the light in the middle of darkness: the evolution of self.
woah dude
Hahaha! What?
You should read The Cornicles of Amber
Cool!
Seems like you could use a woman.
Listened to this the year it was uploaded and had an otherworldy experience-Glad to have sumbled across this again, and to be reminded how mortal and precious every waking moment of this divine journey that is life really is.
Also, can we just appreciate the music without debating about all that is wrong or was wrong with the world? I mean, its music. Listen to it and be at peace, yo.
you know what. this had me so mellowed out that i didnt even notice there was a muted section lol
almost had a panic attack, this video is my favorite for writing to. thanks for reuploading!
What's up girl
The trick is to download it, so you will have it till the end.
This sequence, exactly as it is mixed here, is so ingrained in my brain that I think I would have a mental health crisis if it were ever removed from RUclips.
Ulf Soderberg deserves great credit for making this music and you do, too, for mixing it so well.
Спасибо за наводку на северных музыкантов. Отменный стиль, исполнение и невероятное ощущение, что возникает при прослушивании этих эпических произведений. Сразу начинает играть капля древней нордической крови, что есть в каждом представителе любого северного народа

I can't thank you enough for reposting. I was in shock when I saw the first video was removed. That's a shame you had to remove the last half hour, those were good tracks.

Ambient Relaxation, I really enjoy this music as well. Actually I go to the gym aad work out to this kind of music as well as the more intense type of Nordic music. However I dont understand why it or part of it was taken down? I mean seriously, was it some kind of BS racist, SJW or snowflake hide in your safe space nonsense? Im a Retired GySgt Of Combat Marines and I havent seen anything that would cause anyone grief. However, I just now started to listen to this video and will have to see for myself. You mentioned the last half or so was accidently removed or HAD to be removed? so I guess I'll just have to listen and enjoy until Im TRULY OFFENDED AND RUN TO MY SAFE SPACE. HAHAHAHA! PLease take good care!

Hi, can you recommend that more intense type of Nordic music you mention?
i always end up with this one in late night, makes me feel lost into nowhere
m0nty90 can relate, good music for contemplating
Have loved this for many years - but, I do not listen to music like I used to! Thank you for having it available!!
After watching the swords' image for 15 seconds they seem to start moving deep into the ground.
I imagine someone who came to extract one of these swords.
At the first try, he was rejected by the first chosen sword.
He thought the swords had different powers, and that just one will be fitting his own. That one would have been characterized by being extractible at the first try.
He then tried to extract each one, failing.
Almost exhausted concentrated on one sword. It seems unstoppable. He felt all his strength fading away. When the mechanical strength was totally over, the sword he focused on stopping its entering, disappearing into the ground, and manage to restore him and be his most powerful equipment.
Then I came back. I was sitting in front of the same image as it were at the start, but with a difference which was not deleted by the apparent invariance of the image of the three swords.
It was an hack on the past, from which the upcoming was bleeding in the form of a free choice. Not a new world I see there, scar on the possibility; but a new pattern, a new current of freedom from the source of necessity.
This is the most important piece of music in my home rotation. I love the spirit here and the 2 hour wing-span without commercials is a complete blessing. )O(
I love the mysterious voices @ 17.34 it say's everything sounds like awareness, hope, believe and a litle out of this world, with that mysterious sound , love it

This is the most beautiful dark ambient tribal set I´ve ever heared. And the only one, I´ve heared more than 10 times !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are all connected oh deep in our souls and bodies i feel my ancestors having a celebration 🎉 together all my warrior brothers and sisters the natives of America asia Africa europe and viking. you don't need to have it in your current body/blood we have had so many different bodies throughout our past lives.
I was listetning this music to concentrate during my work as analyst in chemical lab, in my current job where I'm dealing with thermodynamic and economic optimization, and also when working on my Phd. I don't know but there is something calming in this music. I'm comming back to this video for more than 5-6 years.
Thanks a ton for re-uploading!
Thank you so much, it would be hard to live w/o this mix of music.
Thank you for uploading this. It is one of my favorites.
Me too this music is baddass
Being a norwegian myself, this brings joy to my soul. ⚔
Hey! I just want to say that I do the vast majority of my writing with this as my background music, so thank you for the 90,000+ words you've helped me write :D
that's awesome, what were you writing?

I also played with this skyrim mod back in the day. Absolutely love his music. Always reminds me of my old home village that is surrounded by forests and mountains and the road just ends there (no other village nearby, just forests)
Thanks for taking the time and listening all the tracks!!
So happy for the reupload, I listen to this before going to sleep
This is just beautiful. Reminds me of Buffy Saint Marie..... have good days everyone. Stay in the higher vibes.
Beautiful, powerful music to bring out my inner ancestors.
It doesn't matter to me what heading this music comes under as I like it and as a background to all my books... I play it when I write as it inspires me no end.
This is great music for meditating
Dan Golda Thanks for the idea! I’m gonna go do that!
I've been trying to find this awesome collection again. I appreciate you uploading this, because Nexus removed it. It completely changed the vibe of the game for the better.
Listening to this while playing dark souls 3 is a pretty good mix :)
Thank you so much for this. I'm reading the man's search for meaning (which I recommend) and this music is just as reflexive and metaphysic as this kind of sounds. Have a nice day.

Many thanks for uploading these fascinating tracks. They help me stay focussed while doing complicated and / or boring stuff. Kind regards from Germany! :-)
Vielen Dank für diese faszinierenden Musikstücke. Sie unterstützen meine Konzentration, wenn ich komplizierte und / oder langweilige Dinge erledigen muss. Beste Grüße aus Deutschland! :-)
i loved how eric northman was from this time,*loves the thought*.
i cant lie..
the fact i know where that channel/profile thumbnail comes from makes me smile just as much like these sweet wordlessly poetic echo's of old gods and the primal world they shared with peoples ancestors
This is amazing! And it's more world based in its orchestration. Not so much as "European" or Barbaric (at least to me). Given historical European colonizations... it really isn't surprising to hear such rhythmic cultural influences that serve as the fundamental universal exchange in music
I've never played Skyrim but this soundtrack kicks some serious ass. It's fantastic and something to not just relax to but to have playing in the background as I write. Thank you for uploading this!
"And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods."
Been listening to this, every once in a while, in its entirety as I dose to sleep. Never thought such beautiful music would bring out the worst in people. Though I am American, this is the music of my people long ago. I'd love to get into shape and then backpack through Norway.
Takk!!! I ended up making a playlist with all the tracks on your other one because of how much of a loss it was for me hahaha
+Thorulf Scottson why thank you, good sire! I had troubles finding some of Ulf's songs!
Artalus94 No problem, bro :) I hope you found it useful haha
+Thorulf Scottson Could you please show me a list of all the soundtracks from the deleted compilation? I would very much appreciate it. :)
MrChaosAdam Should be on my "Dark Ambient/Meditation" playlist. I think that's the name of it.
I know for a fact I'm missing one of the songs on the old one, but the rest are there.
Firstly, this is a good and relaxing, and finely meditative collection of ambient music. I listen to it with pleasure, just like at least 20 000 others, as far as I can see.
Secondly, I see a part of the comments, and I believe that there's no issue with being Christian, Pagan, Muslim, Jewish, a non-affiliated spiritual person, an agnostic or an atheist (for my part, I'm Christian and I like being so, thanks). At any rate, it's perfectly OK, as long as we're not burning each other at the stake :)
Of course, Vikings were no Nazis, they were just a Dark Age wave of pillagers which is kinda romantic just because one thousand years lay between them and our time :D That said, Old Norse culture is fascinating, vigorous and most inspiring.
