I’m in Illinois zone 6, great list. I have pow wow white echinacea seed this year, guara, Shasta daisy, geum, yarrow, several of the flowers on your list…made me happy!
Loved the video such great information! Thank you 😊 I have dusty miller new look and the leaves are great for flower arrangements and wreaths. Zone 8b Texas
My Gaura does so well but sometimes they succumb to aphids. Taller varieties do better away from foot traffic as they can almost trip you. Pink muhly grass same thing. Those strappy stems can get in the way but the way they move in the wind is a favorite of my husband.
I loved this video and took so many notes. I’m in Austin and I’ve been wanting to grow hydrangeas, but I’ve heard that they don’t do well here because of all the limestone. I’m hoping to try out one of the ones you suggested to see if I can have some success.
Good luck! Hydrangeas can be finicky, but there are some that can tolerate our Texas climate. Also consider growing one in a container if you want to control the soil!
🌷Love the flowers you talked about!! I try to plant perennials--Zone 5 garden....echinacea, yarrow, shasta daisies, columbines, phlox, lilies.. so hard to choose!! I hope you plant persian shield again. I can't seem to find the right spot for it here and def not perennial.
I’m still digging out my knockout roses. I had 15. Ten are gone, roots and all. They got the Red Rose Rosette disease. And I am working on removing the other 5. At $35 each - that’s a devastating loss. I bought them from various places. They were less than 4 years old. And now my cottage looking garden has big empty spaces. But now I can plant newer things and in another 6 months replant roses.
I am so sorry to hear about your rose bushes. Hopefully, you can get those spaces filled quickly with new plants but I know that can also take some time budget wise.
Hi Amanda! Good morning! Have you gone to Home Grown lately to see if they have any spring inventory out? It’s a bit a hike for me to go there so I wanted to make the trip worth it
Another great video. Does yarrow have to be cold stratified? I have tried twice to grow this from seed but nothing germinated! I grew them indoors under lights. I live in the low AZ desert
I’m in the low NM desert and had the most luck with winter sowing Colorado mix and flowerburst fruitbowl yarrow from Baker Creek. After the first year, mine self seeded quite a bit.
I’m looking for a vine that blooms no hassle. My never has wild vines growing crazy on a fence which is fine covers his junk but no blooms I’d like to add blooms fast growing
For something like that I would consider mixing a couple of vines … I have a Don Juan rose and a Jackmanii Clematis that grow together. Or you consider something like a cross vine.
Great info. Will be planting these perennials.
This was a great list! I am going to add some shasta daisies this year. I am also in a zone 8a, and I really enjoyed growing celosia last summer.
Great list. Looking forward to the shrub list. I started working on adding shrubs last year.
Will do!
Just picked up black eye Susan and Daisy seeds yesterday for my 6a/7b PA garden. 🌷🌷🌷
Yay!!!

Let me know how your Geum does!
Great video! I wish you would talk more about part shade plants. Thanks
I can do some of that, I don’t have a lot of experience with part shade as most of my garden is full sun.
Good morning 😊 great video!! I love my Mock orange for early Spring blooms.
It's such a beautiful bloom!
Great list! I’m excited for the one on greenery!
I can't wait to do that one!
Oh I’m in north tx
🌷 ooo I will need to watch this a few times and take some notes. The pro tips are so helpful! Thank you Amanda ❤
You are welcome! I am glad you are enjoying the tips!
Love this video! I totally agree with you on everything!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Amanda! Another great video!
I'm so glad you liked it!
What a great list! All of these plants work so well for me in New Mexico 7b desert.
It's great to hear they work for you in the desert!
Love watching you. Very informative. 💐
Thanks for watching!
Another great video Thank You

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Dusty Miller is a great addition to any cutting garden!

Aphids can be a pain!
Did great.😊
Thanks!

I’m not sure why but I have struggled with Shasta daisy. I’m zone 8a NC. The salvia is a definite to grow here in the heat of NC.
I have the same experience with Shasta daisies, and I am in the same area with Amanda.
Shasta daisies will need full sun and well draining soil … they can struggle if the soil doesn’t drain away well.

Hoping to plant Persian Shield again … love it last year!

Not yet! I need to swing out there this week and pick up some soil and herbs so I’ll check it out!

You can cold stratify yarrow for up to a month, but they don’t require it … but you might get better germination!
Some really great items for arranging! Does something like babies breath do well in your area? ⚾️
I’ve never tried it! But I should!

When to plant roses? Is time this yr?
My zone is 8 and we can plant now!
Oh I forgot, my Belinda’s dream appeared to have been spared Rose Rosette disease but sadly my Belinda’s dream also showed signs.
You listed Belinda’s Dream twice?
I have found yarrow reseeds and goes everywhere.
Having trouble growing phlox even in sun
My yarrow has traveled a little bit but they have been easy to pull up and remove:
