Ah yes, but remember they are a small scale, so the food will only create a small mess for the small hostess' to clean up. Still even Miniature Wonderland doesn't have planes actually flying around, so one up for Magnorail!
It will work, as all the mechanics are under the roadbed, so your only requirement would be to a waterproof road surface and damp proof housings around the motors.
Hi Colin - It is physics which I partially understand, but it really gets down to trial and error. The weight of the plane is the big factor. The magnets in the tethering links (holding the support lines) have to be strong enough to grip but not too strong that they restrict the movement of the chain. Sorry no short cut solution apart from trial and error. You can place materials between the tethering unit and sky surface to reduce friction - similar to what we use for boats and that would offset some of the grip. Hope this helps - Clyde www,.magnorailoz.com.au
This is great. I have the magnorail system on my layout. With a little set-up it is working great. For some time I've been wanting to have birds fly (1800's era layout) and BI-planes (Early 1900's) and finally it looks possible. In my dreams of possibilities, I am still hoping for horses/ mules to walk along Magnorail dirt roads
Keep dreaming Walter. If enough of us are thinking about horses moving via Magnorail, someone out there will come up with the solution - If we can fly, why not be able to ride a horse!
Klatchco56 - love seeing this amazing technology you guys have come up with. But I have a question, that may also interest many of the modelers thinking about trying this. Most layouts are of considerable size and utilizing a box on a layout may not work for many layouts. What IF...... there was a board suspended from a ceiling, over a layout, would this work? I could see where a lowered, dropped ceiling over a layout with lighting attached to the edges as well, could be used to have several small air layouts going on at the same time. Possible?? Just a thought.
Hi Bob - great idea. All about budget and whether your partner allows you attaching stuff to the ceiling. I reckon it would be great to have a series of Faller hot air balloons cruising over a large layout at various heights. I even have an idea for them to be raised and lowered whilst moving. One. Day!!! Clyde
It's amazing let's hope this can be a reality and sold to the public
Hmmm. Aeroplanes that do flat turns. That'll have the G&Ts sliding off the seat trays in the cabin.

Awesome concept!
Very nice ideas. I must admit it makes one wonder what is possible. Thankyou for being so informative
If you can dream it Magnorail Magic can make it happen (within reason)
thanks for sharing. ohh , id love to see somone recreate the e.t movie bike flying scene with this .
I have got to try this Magnorail for out door use for a Garden railroad.

Interesting. Thanks.
Like the new video hope there more to come.
Hi if you get time Have a look at my channel.See what you think. Thanks for your support and time.
I love the idea. What weight would each magnet hold safely?

This is awesome.
My next project is to have a hot air balloon and birds float over the top of my new Cato Lake exhibition layout - watch out early next year!
would love see this with air traffic control comms going on . sweet.
Know doubt it can be used to send rockets to the moon 😁
Scale rockets to a scale moon?😂😂
Too mush video of magnarail guy talking, not enough on how to setup the flying.
