I love the quiet solitude these videos bring. Liziqi will be my Heavenly friend where not a lot of words will need to be spoken. Just each others presence will be enough. I pray we do find one another in heaven when our long, fulfilled lives have expired so that I can learn her ways. Maybe this is a far fetched dream but it would be lovely, nonetheless.

When I was a child, my mom used to take me to the mountain and pickup herbs with her, now I miss those days. Watching her picking up those plants I can not name in English makes me remember the scents and tastes.

Hand work is so important, and our societies have despised hand work for so long, technologies are there to do everything in our place, even thinking.... leaving us totally dependant and stressed out. Working with our hands brings satisfaction, and make us realize the value of things. We forgot that that's why we buy and throw away, buy and throw away..... we have to reteach ourselves!

So true, I became interested in foraging as an adult and went back to the island I'm from that my parents still lived on. I took a hike I'd taken many many time before and was amazed that literally 80% of the plants on the trail were edible (it's a particularly plentiful area though because the indigenous people cultivated it for thousands of years).

Artemisia argyi - wormwood or Chinese mugwort
Pteridium aquilinum - a type of edible fern; also called bracken
Gynura bicolor - an edible herb also called Okinawan spinach belonging to the chrysanthemum family
Aralia elata seem - a type of tree also called Japanese/Chinese Angelica-tree, the shoots are edible and picked in spring
Wild hollylock - an edible flower/stems also edible
Allium victorialis - a wild onion/leek; the stems are edible and it flowers.
Polygonatum - an herb used for treating bruises, edema, aches pains, and inflammation, they flower and produce berries in summer that aren't edible.

@@lilyrose4850 In fact it has nothing about nature, but a bacteria called Mycobacterium vaccae contained in the Dirt. So just travelling through un-urbanised places, like forests after a bit of rain, or just gardening give you some daily shoot. Just check about it.

lazy spring, that.s why she picked all the necessary wild herbs in the beginning of this video -- self medication and diet healing . Chinese divided 4 basic seasons to 24 seasons in Chinese agricultural calendar, it tells you when to seed and harvest; what suppose to eat and not to eat some particular food in that season . In beginning of every her video will mention what agricultural season on the top corner.

For those people (including many Chinese) who can't understand the local accent, at 2:26 Liziqi tried to add more noodles to grandmom, it is much easier to use the chopsticks instead of a spoon to handle the noodles, but Liziqi used the spoon, since she used a wrong tool she had to try so many times to transfer all the noodles to grandmom, Liziqi must have tried many many times, in the end, she eventually got the very last noodle and pass it over to the grandmom, so the grandmom said calmly: "Don't dig and damage the bowl, ok?", Liziqi --- try to control her laughing 2:28 on grandmom's humour.
