But just as we learn about the LOVELY traditions of China from her videos, we also can learn that there are some people in China that are raising "farm dogs" for food, and others that are also (like all western countries) woking HARD to move their countrymen towards considering dogs as pets, beloved companions, not food, and are working to spread a different perspective/treatment for them. Tolerance for acts of cruelty should not happen anywhere ever by any nation! Whats sad is this: a farm raising hundreds(or thousands) of animals in deplorable conditions just to turn a profit. Now that is a problem. If youd ever raised your own animals youd know that when you kill them for food you feel grateful and thankful. When you buy a tenderloin from a supermarket you dont feel shit. Being vegetarian is a band aid not a real solution. And dont even get me started on how we, humans, are omnivore for a reason. Millions of years of being on this soggy rock made us eat this and that to survive and our bodies need proteins, and at some point proteins from mushrooms will not be enough. Let me correct your sentence: Very sad, people dont understand the value of having a balanced diet. That implies not eating tons of meat or tons of veggies. She knows the difference between those going out there with a dream and a wish, and those who have the financial background to do what she's done. She even acknowledges that the modern world is needed with traditional living. I find her even more amazing because in some of these videos you can clearly see she's in a large, airy room, floor to ceiling glass windows, with tasteful sculptures, polished wooden floors and using a Mac to edit her hard work. I dunno where you're at but Mac anything is not cheap. She's very well off but doesn't let it get to her head.

I noticed that after watching all of her videos, it appears that they are not loved pets/ companions, but farm animals from the way she interacts with them and the disturbing absence of them growing up with her in the progressive time span of these videos. What I once enjoyed now saddens me greatly as I see the interaction she has with the puppies. I am happy that many Chinese are now drawing attention to, and protesting things that celebrate torturing and killing dogs like the Yulin dog meat festival.! More Chinese need to publicize and disgrace those that continue these cruel practices so the ones that are still participating, stop! Don't shove it under the rug or cover it up ! Expose it so it ceases!! Bravo to the Chinese reporters that have publicly condemned this practice. I understand that originally Chinese did not eat their dogs, it came about during a time of extreme famine which no longer is the case!! But just as we learn about the LOVELY traditions of China from her videos, we also can learn that there are some people in China that are raising "farm dogs" for food, and others that are also (like all western countries) woking HARD to move their countrymen towards considering dogs as pets, beloved companions, not food, and are working to spread a different perspective/treatment for them. Tolerance for acts of cruelty should not happen anywhere ever by any nation! We ALL most stand up to speak for those that can't speak for themselves and the terrible torture they inflict to "improve the flavor" of the "farm" (or stolen pet's) dog's meat (like at the Yulin dog meat festival) should NEVER occur! I applaud the Chinese people that are working towards changing the tide of what is "acceptable" in this barbaric tradition as they did with the binding of girls feet when just children! Bravo to all those that stood up to stop that terrible practice and to those compassionate individuals there in China today that will not tolerate the continuance of such things like this. If youd ever raised your own animals youd know that when you kill them for food you feel grateful and thankful. When you buy a tenderloin from a supermarket you dont feel shit.
Being vegetarian is a band aid not a real solution.
And dont even get me started on how we, humans, are omnivore for a reason. Millions of years of being on this soggy rock made us eat this and that to survive and our bodies need proteins, and at some point proteins from mushrooms will not be enough.
Let me correct your sentence: Very sad, people dont understand the value of having a balanced diet. That implies not eating tons of meat or tons of veggies. It implies eating a bit of both...unlike some Texas people who are like: duhh my hundreds of pounds of steak hurr durr.
Just look at how (in every one of her videos where she cooks) the amount of meat in recipes never breaks the 30% mark AT MOST by quantity. The rest are herbs and veggies.

I find her even more amazing because in some of these videos you can clearly see she's in a large, airy room, floor to ceiling glass windows, with tasteful sculptures, polished wooden floors and using a Mac to edit her hard work. I dunno where you're at but Mac anything is not cheap.

I noticed that after watching all of her videos, it appears that they are not loved pets/ companions, but farm animals from the way she interacts with them and the disturbing absence of them growing up with her in the progressive time span of these videos. What I once enjoyed now saddens me greatly as I see the interaction she has with the puppies. I am happy that many Chinese are now drawing attention to, and protesting things that celebrate torturing and killing dogs like the Yulin dog meat festival.! More Chinese need to publicize and disgrace those that continue these cruel practices so the ones that are still participating, stop! Don't shove it under the rug or cover it up ! Expose it so it ceases!! Bravo to the Chinese reporters that have publicly condemned this practice. I understand that originally Chinese did not eat their dogs, it came about during a time of extreme famine which no longer is the case!! And to beat them before slaughtering "to improve their taste as it increases the flow of adrenalin" is inhumane and barbaric!
