Good commentary. Good points of thought.
This is why I love your channel.

Or if he wins, it's also possible that the jury will award him less money for his reputation since it wasn't so hot to begin with. However, he also had an expert witness stating that Hollywood turns a blind eye to lateness, drugs and drinking when it comes to their stars and that they did not pull the plug on him until the Washington Post op ed. His statement that he wouldn't work with Disney again came only after they dropped him. We'll see what happens next week.

I thought about that too Leon! His “declining career” may hurt his case for damages - although like you said - the jury may not buy it and may decide that the article was the trigger

Its a tough case no matter how bad AH comes off

It’s very complicated - legally and factually

It'll come down to the final arguments. AH's team is going to have to sell the idea that there is no clear causal connection pretty hard. If the jury dislikes her, they're going to want to punish her and may be more inclined to assume she caused his downfall. It's a pretty nuanced take, and pretty risky to argue that to the jury. But I agree it's their best shot.
Either way, one of the things both of them seem to be concerned about is public perception. The internet rumor is that Depp refused to settle because he wanted "the truth" to come out. He might lose the case and still feel vindicated. In any event, this is probably the end of both of their careers.

I think he doesn’t care that much if he loses - I do think he wanted the story to come out.
