Oh, look at that. I mean, just look at it. This is the second, well, vehicle, because the last one was a helicopter, but this is the second vehicle in this week's GTA Online Weekly Update that I'm doing a review for, and this is the Shyster Deviant.
And I'm giving away the end of the video, I do still want you to watch to the end of the video, but I'm giving it away a little bit in saying that this is one of my favourite cars in the entire game, because, just look at it. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's based on the Ring Brothers Defiant, which in itself was based on the AMC Javelin, which was a pretty much underloved and slept on muscle car, but what the Ring Brothers did is they took it and they made this.
And then GTA, or should I say Rockstar, took that and they made this. So this is available with this week's GTA Online Weekly Update. Now it's not on offer, it is at full price, but you should still buy it, not because it's good, but because it looks like this.
So moving back to the car, what's it like in the actual game? Well, I'm going to be honest, it's a muscle car, and like most of the muscle cars in this game, it's not brilliant. The handling isn't great, it's not as bad as some of the other muscle cars, it has a certain control ability about it that's missing from some of the other powerful muscle cars. So even when you do do things like that, and end up completely out of control, it's relatively easy to correct.
It is a good fun car to drive, it's reasonably quick, but I'm going to have to be honest, I'm going to have to level with you, it's not the best muscle car in the game. But again, I feel I need to remind you, it looks like this. So this is probably definitely one for the collectors.
You'll probably have quite a few cars already that are better than this. You're not going to win any races in this, unless you're the only person in the race, and then, to be fair, it's only 50-50 as to whether you'll win it or not. But, you will look cool while you're losing.
Customisation wise, you've got some decent options for this. You can do, really, quite a lot to it, as you'd expect, because it's based on a customised version of an existing car. I think that's kind of the cool thing.
The job the Ring Brothers did when they built the Defiant was so cool, because it took such an underrated car and turned it into something that was just envied. That when Rockstar came to add this car into the game, they actually chose to model it on the modified Ring Brothers version, rather than the original AMC Javelin. So, customisation wise, you can do okay.
You can make this thing look really, really cool. In fact, I think you'd struggle to make this thing not look cool. Usual caveats, obviously, around white walls and Benny's wheels, although you might actually get away with glitching some of the Benny's wheels onto this, but let's not go there, because the temptation for white walls is ever-present.
So, we'll whiz round here and have a look at the top speed, but, let's be honest, I'm not that bothered about the top speed on this thing, because when I drive this thing, it's not because I want to go fast, and it's not because I want to win races. It's because I just love how this thing looks. Everything about it, the proportions, everything about it, it's just such a good looking thing, and I think that is reason enough to buy this thing this week.
If you need more convincing, here's the top speed it managed to do. Now, normally, at this point, I'd go through final thoughts and review, but I think I've been fairly clear about what I think about this thing. It's not brilliant, but it's gorgeous, so you should buy it.
So, what I wanted to do is give you a little bit of a channel update. Now, based on something another RUclipsr has posted, I'm going to make a couple of changes to how I do these laps. So, you may have noticed before, I've given you a reference to the channel, Benny's Original Motorsports.

It definitely deserves to be faster, but it's definitely good enough for missions. I try to use my cooler cars when I join other peoples heists, instead of just joining in the vigilante or the Kuruma, and it does just fine at that.
This is my favorite car in the entire game. Driving it feels so satisfying. It may not be the fastest, but it sure is fun.
Styling and customization options are top notch. I own 3 Deviants and each of them is in a completely different style. So much build potential. Wish it had a bit more spoiler options though.
You have taste sir. There are plenty of fast cars in the game, there's definitely room for some that are just there to be coveted.

Love the footage, and your mic sounds clear, but the music fading in literally IN BETWEEN YOUR WORDS is SO distracting that I couldn't finish the video. Not being an ass, just constructive criticism, keep it going at a low volume while you talk and maybe fade it up while you show 15-20 seconds of driving footage and then back down (and kept down) for the next talking paragraph. Just a thought!

Love, love, LOVE this car! It's always been a fave, some of it down to the fact that as a child of the 70s I have always had a spot in my heart for the Javelin, most of it down to the fact that this car looks like a clenched fist with a snarling face tattooed across the knuckles giving you the finger. 🤣 Not just one of the prettiest muscle cars in the game, but one of the prettiest cars full stop. I was tickled to see this thing come up in the weekly update, because I already had one in my muscle car collection, which was done up to be a pretty muscle car rather than a badass daily driver, and now I have another one JUST for doing missions, which is all blacked out from tip to tail (black paint with black pearlescent, black rims, limo tint windows...) and it just looks like the embodiment of pure evil. The only, and I do mean ONLY nitpick I have with it is I really desperately wish that it had the same engine note as the Nightshade, my other favorite muscle car in the game. Who cares if it's not the fastest or not the bestest... it is one of the rare cars in the game that has an actual personality and that makes it brilliant!
I really need to do a vid of my top ten favorite cars I own. Not best... favorite. You should as well lol, everyone does "best" lists, nobody ever does "cars I drive even though they are crap because I love them" lists. 🙃
Challenge accepted. My 10 favourite and leat favourite cars is now on my list. I'll finish my current long vid, which rbh is nowaround 4 weeks late due to being on version 3 due to inspiration challenges making versions 1 and 2 below par. But I'm gonna get that done as I really want to do the list now!!

Thanks dude. It's metallic grace red with red pearlescent, with some colours you can get a gorgeous effect by putting a light version of a pearlescent colour over the darker base from the same colour range. Secondary is my crew colour which is absolute black, its darker than the in game black and you have to do a bit of poking about to get it, but if you're interested, let me know and I'll put a quick video up about how to do it. 👍😎
@@perengerin Sure, thanks. I like colors but I’m not creative and even if I do make a combo I’ll still not be satisfied tho coz I couldn’t get same nice effect like others got and I try to avoid using silver, while and black pearl.

Sorry, I missed your comment. So the colour is Grace Red with a Red pearl. Secondary Colour is black, Stock front bumper, primary rear, square dual side exhaust, Exposed charger hood, Livery is Negative Stripes, stock roof, notched ducktail spoiler, Wheels are Chrome Solar with race suspension, and that gorgeous front grille is the Phantom, It's such a gorgeous thing I love it myself, definitely one of my favourites in the game
