Hey Michael why would anyone leave benton. Haha. Thanks for the comment. I was based at benton from 87 till a year and a half ago when I moved my flying north to my Ina area farm.
I’ve really enjoyed watching your kitfox journey. I’m a few hours north of you and just placed an order for a Sti. I’ve got 2 years to clear out space for the factory. Thanks for all your videos and demos Harlan.
Thanks for that comment Jay. I wish you well on you build when you get your plane. Keep me informed when you get started on it. Hope we can fly together someday!
Great timing on this video Harlan, I am just making the decision on where and if I wanted Go Around and Smart Glide buttons on my panel. I did put a Go Around right next to the throttle, but opted to not add a Smart Glide button and will use the Direct To button instead.
As I approached my short grass strip on my place today, my IFLY GPS was nagging at me to start a 4600' ROC! It seems I was approaching a bit high, it's fun to mess with the IFLY, like purposely making the wrong way turn while following a driving app.
so you have a pretty large viewing audience. i was wondering if you could make a video , may be ten minutes, where you talk about your overall experience in building the Kitfox. the good, the bad and the ugly. kinda like a coffee and talk session. explain did the build and performance meet your expectations. what you'd do different perhaps. thx
Mark I really wouldn't want to give some of that info publicly mainly because this is my one and only build and I don't have another build to compare. I never really wanted to build a plane and wouldn't want to build another. I'm glad now I did but its a long road to travel to build a plane. It is much better to fly! I would be glad to answer any questions privately. hsdjp@ yahoo.com
Nice video Harlan. Where in Northern CA is Tyler from? You don't see a lot of young people getting into logging here anymore, so it's great to see his skills.
Thanks Jason. I think he said he worked in the timber while in college or around that time and just loves to do it. He's a engineer by trade and works on the gas powered turbines at power plants around the nation. I met Tyler at Oshkosh. He is the best worker at age 27 that I have ran into in a long time. A real pleasure to be around. I will add his town when I find out.
Brad I got these at Oshkosh this year. Rosen is the brand and they will go from over you head to the side window to in front of your face. I really like them except they set right where I used to grab the bar to get in. haha
Awesome demonstration of smart glide and awesome work from Tyler. He sure knows what he is doing!
And a tree felling treat at the end too, thanks!
Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy!
Very nice! I used to live in Benton IL and was surprised when I saw KMWA on your display 😊

Great demo Harlan! Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks Stu!

Awesome video! This is a G3X feature I knew about but never tried. I have a mission for the weekend. Thanx! N719Q
Thanks Robert! Absolutely get out there and learn how it works, it's a great feature!

Hopefully we will only hold that direct to button for practice anyway. Haha. I will say I like having it on there.
GREAT VIDEO, thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you!

I have never been around an IFLY gps. Sounds interesting. Nice videos you have on your channel, you should make more!
From the title, Harlan, I thought your 915is had failed on you! Nice to see it is just a Garmin demo.
Haha. It hasn't yet, knock on wood! I almost put in a 6 pack but got talked into a garmin system, boy am I glad of that talk!
Fun times!

Harlan, what brand of visors are on mounted on Farmfox?
