    The amazing thing is, these videos are timeless. Doesn't matter when they were made, it's like a big series, you should watch every video from start. Amazing close up cooking skills, great camera angles. you can watch and enjoy, and those who want to learn how to cook can absorb the knowledge. And as Marco Pierre White said be humble and make it simple.

    If you roast the meat first, it is technically a "porkolt", not a gulyas. Excellent video and excellent food.

    Just as my observation, all the red colour of the goulash should be brought by the paprika, not tomato. Classic goulash has no tomato. still love all of these videos, amazing

      It's a Serbian Goulash (гулаш), not Hungarian.

      I know Serbian Goulash too! Its similar to a Hungarian or Serbian Porkolt, but the seasoning is totally wrong. I am sure that you guys use paprika in Serbia too. This is more like a Moroccan stew with lots of tomatoes...and again, with the wrong spices and herbs.
      That does not mean it is no good, I am sure it tastes very good, but it is not Goulash of any nations.
      Porkolt is ca Hungarian word, meaning slowly browned-cooked.

      Called Almazan Goulash...he uses buffalo meat and tomatoes not beef and paprika. He seems flexible so should we, glad you still enjoyed it! He might not have paprika in his garden and uses was he has?!

      Tomato or Paprika so-so, it can be both ways but Shiitake mushrooms are definitely a no no.

      Wherever it's actually from, this is what I grew up calling goulash too. I haven't been able to find any really good recipes for what I'm looking for, except the "Hungarian" goulashes. Good to know it's not originally from there though!

    You guys in the comments fighting about the dish lol, it's probably how they make it in Serbia. I have never heard of GOULASH, but thanks to Almazan now I know, you should thank him for making your traditional dishes known to foreign audiences.

    My mother use to make Goulash when I was a child the recipe came from her mothers grandmother and she would put macaroni noodles and Parmesan cheese in it, so delicious. Great video as always ♥

    Looks delicious but I definitely wouldn't call it "goulash". It's more like some Bordeaux stew.

      OK Goulash is the Hungarian national dish, but all the surrounding countries have adapted it. Even in Hungary, I have rarely eaten two which are the same. Some make with or without - Garlic, Caraway seeds,, & wine. Tomatoes are commonly used now, but not in the original dish, as they were only introduced to central Europe in the first half of 20th century.
      I'm from the north of Serbia which was part of Austro Hungary. i was brought up on my grandmas version, which is different to this, & the ones i've eaten in Hungary.

      @@zivkovicable pa brate ovi su iz srb jbt. Kad se ovako pravio gulaš? Paradajz pelat? Vino? Muskantni oraščić, žalfija ako se ne varam itd. Verovatno su ovo uradili zbog snimka. Da kao izgleda bogato Bilo bi dosadno za gledanje da je samo luk i meso. Ali ovo ipak ne može za se nazove gulašom.

      N.B.: the tomato is commonly used in the middle of the Carpathian Basin from the XIX. century. (in fact, the first mentions are from the end of the XVII. century.) The _industrial processing_ began around 1930 in Hungary.
      And yes, the original recipe did not contain tomato. AND no, no way to sell this meal as a gulyás, despite any case in your experience.

    Actually there are several types of Hungarian Goulash.. This can be an early type, however earliest versions of goulash did not include paprika, as it was not introduced to the old world until the 16th century. Every nation has their own goulash version.. (with potato, with pasta etc.)
    And a lot of people think the "gulyásleves" (goulash soup) is the real goulash, but not. Actually this version in the video maybe closer to the original, than soup which people made nowadays..

      The real original Goulash is like a Stew. But not with Beef. In the 19th Century Goulash got a new Version with Paprika and sometimes with beef. Today you have a few Versions of Goulash. I prefer it with Paprika because my Grandma and my Father cook it like so. Familyrecipe First 😍😍😍😄😄

      HardlyWeeed.....if you use tomatoes and macaroni you are not making goulash, you are making a sad southern American rendition of spaghetti sause with macaroni instead of noodles....not even close to goulash....don't know who started calling it goulash but it is just embarrassing to those of us who know what it is, and where it came from and how is should be cooked....sorry.....no tomatoes

      @@goranjankovic4114 There's no bourguignon style goulash, that's a stew. Goulash (Gulyás) is more like a soup, though it's quite thick. And it would never contain sage, dill (wtf), even tomato. The red colour is because of the huge amount of sweet paprika powder. The guys made an awesome stew, but it's not goulash.

    Momci, svaka cast na ovom kanalu. U zemlji u kojoj pomodarstvo nalaze da svi beze u gradove ne bi li tim cinom bili normalan deo populacije vi vrlo uspesno rusite taj glupi stereotip. Mogu da kazem za sebe da sam jako mlad a zelja mi je da se u narednom periodu vratim prirodi i ovakvom zivotnom stilu. Kuvanje necu komentarisati jer ste van svakih kriterijuma i nema vam ravnih :). Imate sve preduslove da pokrenete agroturizam osim ako vec niste, zelim vam sve najbolje u svakom slucaju. Samo organski, stop monsanto :D

      Helytelen!! Ha megsütöd a hagymát, akkor nem tudod szétfőzni, pedig attól lesz jó sűrű a szaftja! Ahhoz persze még kisebbre kell darabolni a hagymát. Egyébként nagyon finom a cseh marhapörkölt is, de az osztrák is, és ez a szerb is nagyon jól néz ki. K und K a közös örökség!
