- Former Australian ambassador to the US Joe Hockey says the attempted assassination of Donald Trump has “guaranteed” US President Joe Biden “will not step down”.
Former US president Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
“It has guaranteed, in my view, that Joe Biden will not step down,” Mr Hockey told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Joe Biden is not going to run away from a fight - never has in his life.
“He's not going to cower and give up.”

Joe Hockey touched on Trump getting the "sympathy vote," but in my opinion, Trump`s campaigning was so strong and well ahead of Biden`s weak efforts. I`ve been confident from the start, that Donald Trump WILL be the next President of The USA, but recent events have more than secured this conviction!
Agree, the atmosphere at the convention is not sympathy for Trump, it's overwhelming, re-energized support. It's outrage at what's been done to him since 2016. The attempted hit on him Saturday came as no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention. All that did was solidify his base, and bring new supporters to the polls on election day. *IF* November's election is legal, Trump will absolutely be the next president of The USA

The fact that a kid climbed on a roof 200feet from the stage, while you should have snipers on every roof and the kid obviously knew there was no-one, how would he know? The shooter was an employee of Blackrock. Secret Service is suddenly filled with diversity hires, Trump asking for a tighter security but the Chief of Secret Service denies the request. We see what almost happened. It’s way too coincidental to not be intentional.

I also have zero respect for him and I fully support DJT, but I think we need to be more kind. There’s too much hostility from both sides. At least, we can choose to take the high road and be civil in our comments. That’s just my perspective, especially after Saturday.

I can make two different comments and expect one to be deleted and the other to remain and the opposite happens. The other thing that I have tried is reposting a comment that was deleted on a 'news' channel on say a music clip and it remains. Go figure!

@@Emanresuadeen yes I know that because it can be seen but when it is shown to the public on television or Tube or whatever, that sounds is too loud and it makes it uncomfortable to understand what the speaker is saying. It is very chaotic, two things at the same time. The background should be on low. Not necessarily blocked out but lower than the voice of the speaker.
