Just watch the Franks brothers in all of that. There were like wrecking balls in clearing the rucks, running it straight. They did like 50% of the work in leading up to the try. Awesome.
What New Zealand did at the end of this game was ridiculous. The way they kept the ball at such a high intensity of play, with one solitary chance to win the game, and took the necessary risks to make headway without a single error was, in a word, miraculous. If you gave any side, including them, 20 chances to pull off the same trick again I bet they couldn't do it once. Not under those circumstances. As an exhibition of composure under pressure and skill levels from every player on the pitch it has to be one of the great team tries.
All blacks never give up we always seem to catch you out and win in the dying minute the defense lacks from the opposition and the all blacks gain from it. Who's fault is that if we win in the dying minutes. And its not over till its over.

The highest degree of the greatest champion team in any era performing under pressure the impossible....the greatest example of a team that never gives up....what an amazing play....thankyou for the memories!
I was in the stadium with my dad (German AB supporter here). My dad kept saying: it's over, they can't win it anymore and I always instisted to wait til the whistle had gone... damn that was close. One of the best games I have ever seen. I feel for the irish because they did extremely well. I also don't blame them for booing. when you lose a game like that in that manner and that late, you have every right to be upset. The cool thing was that the people (at least all the ones we met afterwards) let it go rather quickly and there were no hard feelings. I had a great time that night and the people were awesome. Love Ireland and the Irish since that day. Only time I don't cheer for Ireland nowadays is when they are plaing against the all blacks. Second favourite for sure!
+Hans Wurst Are you watching the world cup at the moment?. I'm irish but live in Wiesbaden. Would be good to see rugby get big in Germany but not a hope it will happen anytime soon.
1984ioc You bet I am watching. I was so happy when Ireland bet France. I know it probably won't happen but I am hoping for a final ABs against Ireland... that way I won't be too upset, no matter who wins :) Yea Rugby is a minor sport over here. I think we have like one semi-professional team, but that is it. I went and watched the german university championship a few years back. that was pretty cool because it was at my uni and my uni won xD other than that I am really glad that eurosport is showing most of the worldcup games on free tv. that might really help rugby to become more popular. I would love that just as much as you wold.
+Hans Wurst Hey Hans, hoped you enjoyed the weekend of action. Obviously gutted for Ireland but have no complaints as Argentina were the better side. We were missing some big players due to injury and suspensions but not interested really in making excuses. Scotland were very unlucky while New Zealand were just simply sublime. I can't see South Africa beating them in the semis but Australia v Argentina should be a great game of open, attacking rugby. I used to live in Trier and know that their university had a team. Type in Germany, rugby and the guardian newspaper into google and you will find an interesting article about rugby in Germany. Heidleberg is the main area for it in the country from what i remember reading. The funny thing is with rugby being such a technical game i would actually be scared of Germany taking it seriously and investing in the game alot. Don't be greedy ok, ye have enough success in football so leave us smaller nations have the chance to win something in sport :D . Enjoy the rest of the tournament.
+Hans Wurst as a kiwi glad to have you on board.Ironically,I am a big fan of the German football team.Enjoyed the last FIFA WC,particularly the Germany - Brazil game.Has many similarities with the ABs - France game.Let us hope both teams continue to have success. The way they play warrants it.
Richie McCaw has been capped 148 times but has won 131 of these matches. Only three players in rugby history have played more than 131 matches, that's why I'd share my sheep with Richie any day.
i love the irish team. they play great rugby with alot of heart. 2nd favourite team . all blacks number 1 of course. we should have more tests against the irish.
Great game. Still hard to watch 1 and half years on. Absolute respect to the NZer's, who executed brilliantly when it mattered. Sexton should have made it academic with the easy kick he missed in the 73rd minute but thems the breaks. Obviously the NZ'ers are capable of a better 70 minutes than they showed that day but Ireland have progressed since. Despite never beating the them in a game of rugby i hope we get to play them in the WC. Funny thing is if we beat them we'll have a NZ'er to thank for it in Joe Schmidt.
Much respect to Ireland for not penalising at all in that last minute of play. Ireland will beat the All Blacks one day and if its not in my life time it will be in my sons and I will make sure he has a beer not only for the fighting Irish but for me to.
When you play New Zealand you have to play 90-120mins of rugby! NOT 65-70mins! Hats off to Ireland for a great display and performance but now they need to do it day in day out just like the Kiwis do! Every nation who plays against the All Blacks always plays 100 times better than they do against all other teams! Thats why these very close matches are EPIC against the men in BLACK! Nzl have been the benchmark for many years and its the SCALP that all other teams want cos its a very rare SCALP to have! Not many teams can boast about beating the AB's. Next Years 6 nations will be interesting cos if IRELAND does not turn up then all of this we are watching would of been a waste of time! Ireland now need to show the world this wasn't a one off display. Im hoping Ire or Wales to win the 6 Nations!
2013 saw 2 of the best games of rugby played that I've seen in a very long time. This one, which was mostly due to some of the awesome tries scored by the Irish against an inform All Black team and the SA vs AB's Ellis park "war" game, that was almost unbelievable, almost every player was broken by the 70 minute. Awesome rugby.
Besides winning the 2011 RWC this is my favorite ABs moment of all time. 1) The ABs knowing they can still win with 30 sec left on the clock. 2) 13/15 NZ players handle the ball 3) AB Ryan Crotty, on debut, scores the winning try 4) The Kick, then the re-kick. Ohhhh mmmyyy goooddd the re-kick that won the game!!! 5) Final game of the season secure a season, 14/14 - Only pro team in history 6) Ireland have never beaten NZ On a sour note I really felt for the Irish in this game. They had every right to win and were incredible to watch. In the final minutes however, the ABs showed that they don't just play 80 minutes for rugby, they can play 81. Abs vs Ireland for the 2015 RWC Final.......either them or Argentina!
+k vb Ok, correction: 1) It was 82 minutes, not 81. 2) This wasn't Crotty's debut game, he'd played a couple games before this one. And 3) Yes your comment was before the 2015 world cup win, but you gotta concede that THAT is now the best ABs moment of all time. It definitely take the cake for me! :)
err ye all forgetting what an unbelieveable try that was from the all blacks without dropping the ball or anything i dont think tere is any other team in the world who could have scored a try like that with so much pressure on it
Joseh Pakenham While I love rugby union, this happens so often in league. A team once scored two tries in the last 4 minutes to win. State of Origin has these sorts of performances every year. Plus the Cowboys vs Broncos GF. I play union and love it to death, but the AB's aren't special for being able to do this.
(via RugbyBeast) at 58 seconds to FT, Ireland were leading and close to winning their first match over NZ in over 100 years... this is why ABs are the best in the world. never give up !
I remember watching this back home in New Zealand. It was early in the morning and my step dad and I screamed and woke the whole house up when we scored. Haven't been so nervous for a long time. Great game, well played Ireland.
Awesome comeback, such patience. Knowing to keep the ball alive, NO knock-ons. Poor Irish, but 4 years later they finally got their first win against the ABs, deservedly so.
had to come back and watch this after the RWC2023 quarter finale vs Ireland. I though Ireland were going to get their revenge for this but the All blacks somehow managed to hold on, amazing,
I hate booing at sports games...its the poor sportsmans / fan reply. Its something I grew up being told it was being a sooky la la ...be the bigger person and accept the loss, congradulate the opposition with a smile and walk off (mumbling under your breath of course LOL) I especially dislike it when its my team or a team I like....diminishes my like for them :-(
I remember watching this game n nearly shitting myself after the Irish racked up the tries one after the other. Was a mixture of relief we got home but felt bad for them they played bloody well. Woulda been a good atmosphere!
Felt really sorry for Ireland... for about 4 seconds once the elation and relief took hold. What a great game it was. It will happen one day Ireland. One day soon I feel. Much love & respect from one Kiwi.
What an exhilarating 3 minutes of rugby. Easily the best last minute pressure try of this decade so far. ABs handling skills under pressure in the build up to that last try was incredible, especially knowing what was at stake - an unbeaten year.
I remember i was 14 watching this game live at 4 or 5am back home in NZ and me and my dad were shouting SO LOUD one of the neighbours called Noise Control on us
ohh the pain.........the pain W B Yeats We rode in sorrow, with strong hounds three, Bran, Sgeolan, and Lomair, On a morning misty and mild and fair. The mist-drops hung on the fragrant trees, And in the blossoms hung the bees. We rode in sadness above Lough Lean, For our best were dead on Gavra's green.
People seem to forget the AB's had played France x4, SA x2, Australia x 3, Argentina x 2, Japan x1 and England x1 in the space of five months or so before this match. They were fatigued but still managed to pull the win out. They can't win every game 58-6. Think about the amateur era when they might play four or five tests a year. The AB's that went undefeated between 1987 and 89 played a total of 18 tests. This lot played 14 in one season. If Ireland had played that amount of games coming into this test they'd have lost 70-0.
One day, we will overcome the ABs, it just wasn't meant to be on this occasion. This game however marked the beginning of the Joe Schmidt era. New style of play, running into space and not into players, forwards who can handle the ball as well as any back. With these aspects incorporated into our play we can evolve into a complete team, not just some group of players who can pull off the odd upset.
ConnorJohn I'm not assuming that at all, the ABs will always be great. However, Ireland have been improving in the quality of players Irish Rugby has produced. I feel we finally have the right coach in Joe Schmidt to help the team reach those heights by delivering a New Zealand philosophy to Irish Rugby. We saw it with the quality of the Leinster side he coached (3 Heineken Cups in 4 years) and we're starting to see glimpses of it in this emerging Ireland side.
Good luck , Our younger players are also coming through strongly as the likes of barret / savea and many more, Ireland will have to play the whole 80 minutes even more if they would like to beat us. We dont give up to easily. If you do win congrats to you. :)
Steven Bissett Don't be so sure that it wont be in your lifetime, the Irish always play with guts and pride, you have a good coach and from what I am seeing, this new style of play developing is very exciting for Ireland and world rugby. Good luck to you and your team (Ireland is my second team after the AB's)
Joe Schmidt's team will be the dark horses at the RWC, could even win it. And that is coming from a kiwi, they look very good, it's only the beginning for this new Ireland side.
That's why I love watching rugby. Great game ,its going to be hard to beat the all blacks on the world cup 2015 because they are always producing great players every year .watch the team they take to the world cup they are going to surprise everyone
It was clearly a try, the charge was too early, it was perfectly refereed and the result was right. I was feeling very sorry for the Irish due to the late manner of the defeat but the crowd was a disgrace. If that were an English crowd (although if you look at equivalent videos here they do not act that badly), would not the AB fans be screaming "bad sportsmanship" at the blatant booing booing and attempts to con the ref? I think so.
+kamyueloh my immediate thought. Go on any RUclips video for Eng Vs AB and there are Kiwi's slating the "fucking Poms" claiming the English as "arrogant" etc. Were that Eng Vs AB and the crowd booed like that you would have thousands of comments about "shit fans" "cunts" etc. I lived and worked in NZ for over a year and many AB fans hate the English, and they are proud of it. You just have to get used to it as they don't pretend otherwise, no point arguing or asking why. Likewise the Irish are loved and very popular out there, seen as "good cunts" (Kiwi phrase) who are respected. Sadly as an Englishman you are by-definition arrogant, irrespective of your own personal character, and you will be spoken about behind your back. Funny enough the Maori and Pacific Islanders never gave me grief, they were polite and friendly, it was the pakeha Kiwi's who slated me.
+bodhid It's quite simple - yet most Kiwi's probably still wouldn't get it...You are a nation of 50 million people who invented the game, have a colonising, aristocratic, class system past (that still exists in some form mind you). Whilst that is in the past, it still nonetheless is part of your nations personality (even if it is like judging a 45 year old family man based on a couple of reckless years as a 13-15 year old). We are a nation stuck in the far reaches of the world with a small population and an inferiority complex. Sadly that is part of our personality. Dad told us to fuck off in the 1970s and joined his European friends (the ECC) and now we're grouchy 17 year olds who have disowned you haha.
Michael Anderson I knew what you meant. I simply disagree :-) Having travelled the world meeting kiwis everywhere I went...they are incredibly proud for the accomplishments we as a country have achieved and humble enough to acknowledge the success of others. Its the one thing I am proud of as a NZer. We dont have tall poppy syndrome.
Liam Porisse, your obvious bitter bias is obscuring your objectivity. We totally deserved the 2011 world cup win. We are the best team in the world, have been for years. And you just can't handle it.
God I remember watching this game screaming how close we were to finally beating the All Blacks and how shitty an ending that was. We deserved to win this game
Games aren't won based on if a team deserves it. Games are won based on the score when the final whistle blows. The ABs have a mentality of utilising the full 80 minutes on the clock with a never back down attitude. While I'm guttered that your team didn't win, what makes you think the ABs weren't just as deserving? Just because we win all the time? Your logic is flawed.
Piki Winikeri Haha all said and done in the heat of the moment :) I acknowledge the all blacks were the winners, the better team and won fair and square but it's like you won 27 and drew one of our games. Can we have one please? :P (I do love the all blacks btw my 2nd fav rugby team after Ireland and a little part of me was happy they got their perfect season) I suppose it's just a bummer after the Irish put in a lot of effort and we were so close to winning but to no avail :'(
Watching this again ..3 ears later got them in Chicago..5 years later got them at home ..a NZ man made us who we are .. hopefully we can keep this going for another year and peak in Japan
Bad form from the Irish booing at the end. Were the English doing that with Sexton lining-up a kick you would have the Irish complaining bitterly. Fair play, Ireland played well but they choked there...AB's were not to b denied, we've run out of superlatives for that team.
Youve got to also say that ireland played an honest hard game. It wouldve been sooo easy to infringe multiple times in that last passage of all black possesion. But they didnt and well done to them for that. Ireland still my second favourite team in the world. Hooraaa
I was at this game, have been an All Black supporter for 21 years so as you can imagine it was a dream come true and I am so glad that they won but I must say I was very let down by the Irish crowd booing everytime one of the All Blacks kicked the ball or did anything with it really. Poor sportsmanship I must say
coming from a fellow all black supporter, to say that is poor sportsmanship after NZ crowds have booed Quade Cooper for the last 3 years is very hypocritical.
Sean Turner bro if you follow rugby then you know why they boo cooper in New Zealand ,when Richie was laying there on the ground after making a tackle and the ruck was formed cooper landed his knee on Richies head and other 3 other incidents to mention, nek minute a few games later cooper suffers from a cruciate knee ligament injury lol karma's a bitch
Niuean Laho i know all about that yes, and the 2011 world cup was karma cooper deserved. but the only person who seems to have gotten over it now is Mccaw himself. No doubt, there was payback Cooper deserved, but at this point in time it's just ridiculous.
You've got to give it to the AB's any other side in the world would have ballsed that up at the end, but they managed to keep their heads and their quality showed, best side in the world for a reason
It was a derogatory term invented in the US by the "natives" (English descendants) to undermine any accomplishment or success an Irish person carved out for themselves as "luck of the Irish". It makes me want to slap yanks with an Irish last name, who say it proudly without knowing the history.
36 sets of hands in the final minute to score the try that levelled the game. Cruden 2nd attempt (after an early charge down) from the sideline to win the game. Probably the greatest game winning moment in rugby of all time to win the 1st undeafeted season in the professional era.
Ireland were not unlucky. Every pass and play in that final minute had to be precision. No other team in the world could have done that under that pressure Give NZ the credit they deserve for brilliant finishing insteading of bleating on about unlucky Ireland
mataio viliamu How does that make sense? its not luck that all blacks didn't get tired in the 60th minute, its not luck that all blacks kept composed and played the entire 80minutes and MORE. It's also not luck that the all blacks are world champs. You make your own luck.
titus atta well they put their best 80 minutes of rugby together and still couldn't beat the all blacks. they were unlucky. unlucky that on the day the all blacks played about 15 minutes of good rugby and that a key period of that time happened to be that final minute. It's not to say that The All Blacks were lucky to win or don't get any credit that they deserve. they get all of that and the accoldaes that come with. But Ireland are desperately unlucky to not come away with the win there. They had done everything they could have done to win that match. Put in that situation another 9 times I don't think that the All Blacks come away with the win more than 50% out of the 10 times. so yes I think ireland were unlucky not to win
How can you say that, the all blacks have been in that situation more then 10 times over the last 100 or so years the irish havent beaten them, all blacks have come out 100% of those times, look back to 2k12 when all blacks won by a drop goal in the last minute, all blacks have ALWAYS come out on top in those situations and that what defines world champs from the rest
titus atta Well yes and no really. I agree you get what you deserve in sport but the NZ'ers handed Ireland the game in the 73rd minute with the penalty they conceded. Sexton really shouldn't have missed. Either way NZ were helpless to the outcome. I agree they deserve immense credit for never giving up, though it wasn't inevitable as you suggest. BTW NZ won the world cup because Craig Joubert refereed only one side in the final. I can still see Thierry Dusatoir over the ball and on his feet with McCaw unable to move him with Joubert paralysed by the home town support. Bloody good team though!
Game will always be remembered for the terrible Irish booing no appreciation of an incredible try. They would not score a try like this even if they play for another 105 years do not have the skill
+Michael Q Todd they had good reason to be upset, they were about to break a 108 year drought with an awesome irish 1st half performance. As a nzer I respect the emotion and feel their pain, boo on.
+Michael Q Todd I don't think the game will be remembered for that. It'll be remembered for the amazing first half for the Irish followed by a magnificent comeback and superb control, discipline, self-belief and skill by the All Blacks to win it. The booing by the crowd (during the forward pass adjudication and the conversion process) was more out of desperation than genuine disdain at the call. I'm Kiwi BTW
TBF Oirish fans are usually pretty respectful during goal attempts. I'm of the belief it was a forward pass, but the Oirish had possession with 40secs left --- failed to see the game out, and paid the ultimate price against the team who continually set the standard we all aim for.
+Mclimited.... who rattled your cage? A less than charming response to what imho was a fair and accurate comment. FYI, I did play the game - for over 30yrs - 2nd row and No.8 for a Scottish 2nd Div Club.
Magnificent display of discipline and composure massive Team effort , All blacks are a 80 minute team, poor Ireland made one little mistake and cost them the game this is a star studded line up Ab side
The last game of the season with a mostly fatigued pack, this was Ireland's greatest chance to strike the ABs down. Suffice to say, there was great injustice in awarding IRE first try.
Superni Ue CM clearly lost the ball over the line? Who? What game are you watching? Ryan Crotty scored the try and it's pretty obvious there is no loss of ball... You're doing the simple task of watching a video a "great injustice"!
Ireland can hold their heads high. played well above their lead up form. They totally deserved to win.... but so did the All Blacks. And it took all of their determination to do so. The ABs represent NZ so well. Love being a fan.
is it just me or is someone in the background or one of the commentators breathing REALLy heavily during this passage of play as if they are about to have a heart attack and when the ABs score the you can hear someone throw thier microphone away lol. poor buggers
After 108 years and counting of trying to beat the All Blacks you cant blame the commentator throwing the mike away. I would of thrown the chair through the f##king glass 2! lol
Will never forget the stunning tribute the Irish Times payed to Jonah Lomu. As much as tustve hurt to lose to the ABs in the dying seconds, they gained much respect..
Coming from a New Zealander, that was the best game of rugby I have ever seen, Ireland you are amazing! One day the green machine one day.
and still the best!

I must say this has got to be one of the greastest rugby, if not, sporting moments in a damn long time.
All Blacks tend to do it a lot actually, winning in the dying moments.

JB Mixes Well let me put it this way I can now watch this video whereas I couldn't before. Of course the Chicago result was a huge buzz.
its funny how the crowd tried to win over the ref when they damn well knew it wasnt a foward pass lol
It's a wonder they didn't check every pass from the penalty

Aww, wondered why I hadn't heard his commentary lately.
Always saddens me in a rugby game when the kicker is booed. Should never happen under any circumstances. This is rugby, not football.

i love the irish team. they play great rugby with alot of heart. 2nd favourite team . all blacks number 1 of course. we should have more tests against the irish.
I’ve seen them play several times. They NEVER give up. Still watch it now and again.😬
I think I have seen this video at least 10 times. It NEVER gets old and I always find myself laughing my ass off!
Ireland and New Zealand are my favorites for this world cup (coming from a french man)
Kiwi here but if we dont win the World cup then i hope its Ireland.
John Brown Your an irish living new zealand
You have no idea, I was crying when that match ended.
+John Brown we won!
Funny thing is if we beat them we'll have a NZ'er to thank for it in Joe Schmidt.
corny165 twas similar circumstances when england hammered them there two years ago.. they get knackered end of season.
Dont blame him, Its a game of footie shit happens.
Much respect to Ireland for not penalising at all in that last minute of play.
Ireland will beat the All Blacks one day and if its not in my life time it will be in my sons and I will make sure he has a beer not only for the fighting Irish but for me to.
Suzanne Silivale hope you're son wasn't to young for that beer lol good on ya from Ireland
THEY DID TODAY BEAT THEN 2 TIMES
Oh...the drama!!! I've watched this a hundred times and my heart still races
That's so funny to hear someone else saying that, cause the same happens when I watch it
aaaaaaaand I'm back again
and again
March 27th 2019 and this is still a must watch every time I see it here. MOST AMAZING TEAM EFFORT AND TRY. AB for life (ABFL)
2) 13/15 NZ players handle the ball
3) AB Ryan Crotty, on debut, scores the winning try
4) The Kick, then the re-kick. Ohhhh mmmyyy goooddd the re-kick that won the game!!!
5) Final game of the season secure a season, 14/14 - Only pro team in history
6) Ireland have never beaten NZ
On a sour note I really felt for the Irish in this game. They had every right to win and were incredible to watch. In the final minutes however, the ABs showed that they don't just play 80 minutes for rugby, they can play 81.
Abs vs Ireland for the 2015 RWC Final.......either them or Argentina!
+k vb I like the 2000 win over the wallabies myself 39-35
+k vb i like the motherfucking 2015 RWC FInal, and dominating the west island 34-17
+k vb Ok, correction:
1) It was 82 minutes, not 81.
2) This wasn't Crotty's debut game, he'd played a couple games before this one.
And 3) Yes your comment was before the 2015 world cup win, but you gotta concede that THAT is now the best ABs moment of all time. It definitely take the cake for me!
:)
err ye all forgetting what an unbelieveable try that was from the all blacks without dropping the ball or anything i dont think tere is any other team in the world who could have scored a try like that with so much pressure on it
+Joseh Pakenham You've never watched rugby league then mate.
+Nigel thornberry why whats that got to do with anything
Joseh Pakenham While I love rugby union, this happens so often in league. A team once scored two tries in the last 4 minutes to win. State of Origin has these sorts of performances every year. Plus the Cowboys vs Broncos GF. I play union and love it to death, but the AB's aren't special for being able to do this.
+Nigel thornberry but dont forget they were protecting their unbeaten record & not once did they make a mistake so i think they are
Joseh Pakenham QLD was protecting their unbeaten record too.
(via RugbyBeast) at 58 seconds to FT, Ireland were leading and close to winning their first match over NZ in over 100 years...
this is why ABs are the best in the world. never give up !
The continuity in this game was truly breathtaking and even though it still pains me greatly, it was one hell of a match.
Don't think I have ever heard a crowd go from deafening loud to dead silent so quickly. Was eerie.
had to come back and watch this after the RWC2023 quarter finale vs Ireland. I though Ireland were going to get their revenge for this but the All blacks somehow managed to hold on, amazing,
LOL@ Aaron smith kissing the ground when crotty scored Hahahahaha
o'connells face at that moment, priceless.. what a game, scintillating stuff
I hate booing at sports games...its the poor sportsmans / fan reply. Its something I grew up being told it was being a sooky la la ...be the bigger person and accept the loss, congradulate the opposition with a smile and walk off (mumbling under your breath of course LOL) I especially dislike it when its my team or a team I like....diminishes my like for them :-(
Quite right
I watched this game and it was my first rugby game it was one of my best experience.love rugby
I'll never forget this game.
Still hurting from the loss on the weekend, this makes me feel better.
Doubleheader:All Blacks v's Ireland Soliders Field with the Maori All Blacks v's the USA's Eagles as warm up match, now there a ripper of a trip
+Sophie Gardner I hope that game will be just as scintillating and brilliant as this one
Same
Kia Ora to that what a great game of rugby
I'm a south waikato boy
What an exhilarating 3 minutes of rugby. Easily the best last minute pressure try of this decade so far. ABs handling skills under pressure in the build up to that last try was incredible, especially knowing what was at stake - an unbeaten year.
And that is how it's done
Love watching the passion and fight of the Irish,.
The whole team was involved in some shape or form for that last ditch effort. I remember watching this at home, I couldn't stop screaming with joy lol
13 players handled the ball. Some entire games don’t even get that
I remember i was 14 watching this game live at 4 or 5am back home in NZ and me and my dad were shouting SO LOUD one of the neighbours called Noise Control on us
@@jacobgray8210 haha I was watching it with my old man, but Mum was the one telling us to shuddup!!!
@@jacobgray8210
All Blacks are an awesome team go all blacks no country can win back to back world cups like you do...
best team....
ohh the pain.........the pain W B Yeats
We rode in sorrow, with strong hounds three,
Bran, Sgeolan, and Lomair,
On a morning misty and mild and fair.
The mist-drops hung on the fragrant trees,
And in the blossoms hung the bees.
We rode in sadness above Lough Lean,
For our best were dead on Gavra's green.
This video always gives me shivers
People seem to forget the AB's had played France x4, SA x2, Australia x 3, Argentina x 2, Japan x1 and England x1 in the space of five months or so before this match. They were fatigued but still managed to pull the win out. They can't win every game 58-6. Think about the amateur era when they might play four or five tests a year. The AB's that went undefeated between 1987 and 89 played a total of 18 tests. This lot played 14 in one season. If Ireland had played that amount of games coming into this test they'd have lost 70-0.
Or 60-0 like they did on their last tour
Aidankiwi Yeah no one seems to mention that
*****
***** probably the first NZder on youtube I've seen to make a genuine objective comment.
still no need to be dicks about it NZer,
One day, we will overcome the ABs, it just wasn't meant to be on this occasion. This game however marked the beginning of the Joe Schmidt era. New style of play, running into space and not into players, forwards who can handle the ball as well as any back. With these aspects incorporated into our play we can evolve into a complete team, not just some group of players who can pull off the odd upset.
This is assuming the ABs will lose their thunder, which, after decades of mostly winning, is unlikely..
Steven Bissett
Don't be so sure that it wont be in your lifetime, the Irish always play with guts and pride, you have a good coach and from what I am seeing, this new style of play developing is very exciting for Ireland and world rugby.
2018 and im still watching this.. never gets old.
I thought I was the *only* one!
Lol *love it!* 😉👍
It was clearly a try, the charge was too early, it was perfectly refereed and the result was right.
+Michael Anderson I like your analogy about being the grumpy 17yo. Disagree with the inferiority complex....if anything its the opposite :-)
+jellybee68 Don't confuse the success in rugby, i mean it as the nations as a whole
This is a great video to come and watch for inspiration when you think life has you licked.
Liam Porisse, your obvious bitter bias is obscuring your objectivity.
We totally deserved the 2011 world cup win. We are the best team in the world, have been for years. And you just can't handle it.
Thank god we learned from this.
How we turned it around in the coming years has been impressive.
A win over New Zealand now is no no big deal
EASILY the best test rugby union game of all time (Wales fan)
+kiefer sutherland probably not as good as the Bledisloe opener match in 2000. That was unbelievable
+AFCBeast dont forget THE CONTEXT though, this was history in the making time if Ireland would of won - their first time ever
+kiefer sutherland oh really? i didn't know that :o
God I remember watching this game screaming how close we were to finally beating the All Blacks and how shitty an ending that was. We deserved to win this game
In your dreams
+jlast hena lol ikr
Games aren't won based on if a team deserves it. Games are won based on the score when the final whistle blows. The ABs have a mentality of utilising the full 80 minutes on the clock with a never back down attitude. While I'm guttered that your team didn't win, what makes you think the ABs weren't just as deserving? Just because we win all the time? Your logic is flawed.
Piki Winikeri Haha all said and done in the heat of the moment :) I acknowledge the all blacks were the winners, the better team and won fair and square but it's like you won 27 and drew one of our games. Can we have one please? :P (I do love the all blacks btw my 2nd fav rugby team after Ireland and a little part of me was happy they got their perfect season) I suppose it's just a bummer after the Irish put in a lot of effort and we were so close to winning but to no avail :'(
great game, great teams, a classic
Watching this again ..3 ears later got them in Chicago..5 years later got them at home ..a NZ man made us who we are .. hopefully we can keep this going for another year and peak in Japan
Bad form from the Irish booing at the end. Were the English doing that with Sexton lining-up a kick you would have the Irish complaining bitterly. Fair play, Ireland played well but they choked there...AB's were not to b denied, we've run out of superlatives for that team.
My grandmother died on this day. I remember it because of this performance.
Youve got to also say that ireland played an honest hard game. It wouldve been sooo easy to infringe multiple times in that last passage of all black possesion. But they didnt and well done to them for that. Ireland still my second favourite team in the world. Hooraaa
6:06, that split moment silence says it all about Rugby. SUCH an intense sport!!! #AllBlackEverything
I didn't boo him, I'm criticizing the Irish crowd because I am Irish and we're meant to be a great crowd, but not at that game we weren't
Sean Turner
bro if you follow rugby then you know why they boo cooper in New Zealand ,when Richie was laying there on the ground after making a tackle and the ruck was formed cooper landed his knee on Richies head and other 3 other incidents to mention, nek minute a few games later cooper suffers from a cruciate knee ligament injury lol karma's a bitch
Niuean Laho i know all about that yes, and the 2011 world cup was karma cooper deserved. but the only person who seems to have gotten over it now is Mccaw himself. No doubt, there was payback Cooper deserved, but at this point in time it's just ridiculous.
MsEliza dashwood .
You've got to give it to the AB's any other side in the world would have ballsed that up at the end, but they managed to keep their heads and their quality showed, best side in the world for a reason
Nothing wrong with the second to last pass
Oh Eddie Butler we miss your commentating ,this up and coming World Cup will not be the same.
They should not boo as the referee he takes care of Ireland and New Zealand very well. Referee did a fantastic job. He wasn't taken any sides.....
Joiiooo
I cry every time I watch it
The announcer's voice is awesome.
That's what you call a rugby spokesman.
At those final moments I forget to breath and my heart restarts when the cheering begins XD
Never did understand the term the luck of the Irish anyway ???
Best comment haha
It was a derogatory term invented in the US by the "natives" (English descendants) to undermine any accomplishment or success an Irish person carved out for themselves as "luck of the Irish". It makes me want to slap yanks with an Irish last name, who say it proudly without knowing the history.
prob coined by some brit during the irish famine😁
Watching in 2020! NEVER gets old! #backblack
My goodness that was great....All Blacks will defend World Cup in England. All Blacks all day !!!!
No other team in the world could have done that under that pressure Give NZ the credit they deserve for brilliant finishing insteading of bleating on about unlucky Ireland
whatever, unlucky to not get the reward for the effort they put in
mataio viliamu How does that make sense? its not luck that all blacks didn't get tired in the 60th minute, its not luck that all blacks kept composed and played the entire 80minutes and MORE.
The commentators voice when crotty passed the line, he was gutted for us.
Ilove watching this not as much as the aussie 1 haha the aussie 1 has to be the best by far just because it's aussie awesome love it
Nice! Never forget this game I was at OHagans Irish bar lol
The booing wasnt disrespect, it was passion. Ffs relaxed, our fans are worst.
That's as brutal as it is beautiful. All Blacks forever!
+David Morrison I wasn't taking to u bud, the guy Michael was the ass hole
I never get sick of this.
I know right...
Amazing game !
CM clearly lost the ball over the line but the TMO still awarded the try- there's another word for it
Superni Ue CM clearly lost the ball over the line? Who? What game are you watching? Ryan Crotty scored the try and it's pretty obvious there is no loss of ball... You're doing the simple task of watching a video a "great injustice"!
***** You've seen the replay, I'm sure you can work it out
T Keane Your comprehension lacks much. It might pay for you to read, analyze then reply accordingly otherwise you're no good to anyone!
fatigued pack??? you for real. Cant take anything away from a very good Irish pack
Ireland has done this several times in football also, must go for the kill, very frustrating for me
1:22 still making it tacos
Ireland can hold their heads high. played well above their lead up form. They totally deserved to win.... but so did the All Blacks. And it took all of their determination to do so. The ABs represent NZ so well. Love being a fan.
is it just me or is someone in the background or one of the commentators breathing REALLy heavily during this passage of play as if they are about to have a heart attack and when the ABs score the you can hear someone throw thier microphone away lol. poor buggers
It's the ref lol
ChenTheChen haha yeah. I was starting to get worried about the sound..it sounded like someone masturbating
One of the commentators threw his mic down in disgust at 2:25
You don't hear it on the New Zealand commentary.
After 108 years and counting of trying to beat the All Blacks you cant blame the commentator throwing the mike away. I would of thrown the chair through the f##king glass 2! lol
U
Will never forget the stunning tribute the Irish Times payed to Jonah Lomu. As much as tustve hurt to lose to the ABs in the dying seconds, they gained much respect..
