That's a really tough question! Upside to being so close to the town centre, is you don't _have to_ have a car, but the downside is, there's usually only a very very small plot of land.... Upside to being in the countryside, is there's usually a good chunk of land around the Chateau and a good distance to the neighbours.... On the downside is the need for a car... In the end, it all comes down to the Chateau and how it makes you feel 🥰🥰🥰 I'm loving the interior, but I'm getting the impression that since it's in the town centre and we're not seeing the actual bldg, that it's just like the old palaces/mansions in Venice...
I looked seriously at this but learned they allow bullfighting in this town. I would never consider living where they do that, will have to go further North.

Truly great property but I’m all for country living and lots of green around me ( small pied a terre in Paris on the side )
Town center definitely!
In the country always.
So, aren't the annual real estate taxes in France absolutely outlandish?

Oooh yes that would be a big turn off for me as well.
