I love how Joxer went from joke antagonist to a genuinely beloved friend. Sometimes people stumble into your life and they stay there for good.
Joxer wasn't supposed to be a regular or recurring character, but he was so popular among fans, they decided to put him in more episodes.
I never knew that he wasn't supposed to be recurring from the start. I figured that they were always going to keep bringing him back, on account of him being the executive producer's little brother.

Joxer is what they call a "breakout character". Previous examles are Maynard G. Krebs on Dobie Gillis, Klinger on M*A*S*H or Steve Urkel on Family Matters.
@@d.p.robertz657 I agree with you. I don't believe Joxer was a hit. Xena was a hit, which is why she got her own show. I think that Joxer becoming a recurring character was planned because the producers wanted to have Xena and Gabrielle interact with a cahracter on a recurring basis that was not from Hercules. Previously, both Autolycus and Salmoneus originated on Hercules.

Joxer was so sweet. his intentions were good even though he usually got knocked out etc. he really did care and wanted to help. i truly think that he would have been willing to die for Xena and Gabrielle

I'm in the midst of watching Xena: The Warrior Princess. Currently, at season 3. I've roaming here and there in this channel and in my head, I was thinking how am I going to react when I finished until the last season. Will I cry and able to move on? I watched Xena until season 3, local TV stop airing it for no reason. I know Xena died but I don't have the idea how she died. Guess, that time my curiosity wasn't high enough. But I knew there is something going on between Xena and Gabrielle, just I don't know what it is. I was still in school at that time, naive. All I know, they're belongs together. I love Joxer too, he's funny and loyal. I know he have heart with Gabrielle. When I watched Gabrielle married Perdicas, it really broke my heart. *sigh* ... Somehow, Xena and Gabrielle has taught me something .. Love and loyal.

They removed Gabrielle's season 1 silliness and turned it into a character.
So that's what the physical manifestation of silliness looks like when it's separated from Gabrielle
The music score in Xena was amazing at times. As for Joxer, I never liked him. Always hated these "stupid" characters. They're just not funny 🤷♂️
