Late reply: on whatever day you go to the Last Resort, if you interact with the white space door after you leave you can see Something in there for like 3 frames.
I finished the game and now I undersstand why it took so long to develop. The game is full of little details, and there is always more to find. These details are all interconnected, and the whole game is based on research about how to represent trauma in a faithful way while keeping it a videogame that is fun to play and bases its horror elements around visuals and audio. That amount of research and test must have taken such a long amount of time to put into such a well-made game!
After watching the trailer, I've concluded a theory, and it's that this game is actually metaphoric. Omori might be having depression, which explains how apathetic he usually is, and that because of his depression, he sees no value in the world around him, which explains the white room, and the only value he has are the laptop, the sketchbooks, and the tissue box(?) which might link to the friend he used to have. Because of his depression, he can no longer feel happiness, and is trying to feel that happiness again by remembering the fun stories he had with his friends, before he was in this white room. And later on, while he's trying to remember what happened before, he also remembered the bad things that happened, which explains why he fought with those monsters. They probably didn't succeed, thus the reason why he and his friends are now separated, leading him to the final part of the story which is him being inside a somehow empty white room. And, thus, this was the reason why I kinda thought of the game to be a metaphor that lead to his depression. I might be wrong, but while watching this and reading the story on Omori at the website, I kinda have this thought throughout watching the video. Anyhow, I'm very excited for the game! And thanks if you were able to read my entire comment (sorry for making it too long ^^;)
Another interesting topic that comes to mind is to why his friends are blue. Usually the color blue is used for emotions such as calm, sadness, which seems to doesn't suit his friends who look cheerful and full of energy.
I feel like all the hate that Omocat got was making the game's release date become longer and longer. All the hate would make her and her team become depressed and not want to work on the game as much. If I was in her position, I would have just broken down and given up entirely because of the hate, but she handled it way better that I would have. She and her team kept trying their best to make the game. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

For anyone who is asking whether if it is still in progress or not and where the updates are, I can say following if you don't know that much about Omo Cat. The company Omo Cat of the game has an own clothing company that in the end got way further, including with alot of artists that collabed with them. Meanwhile it is not sure anymore if they are actually working on the game, but appearently people say way way in the background that they are working on it but Omo Cat doesn't want to give updates nor really give this work in development any help cause of the clothing line that is really growing. So they might not wanna spend that much money into something that is still under development compared to a pretty popular clothing line. Alot of people say that the money from the kickstarter appearently went into the clothing line but there is not information if that's true or not. It is true that it is still unfair that we haven't got any response to that matter at all. Please like this to let it more people know.
Well likely we won't see it unless some act of God happens. I mean the money they make from clothing alone should be enough to cover the game. Oh well maybe something else will come along to take its place.
I hate he way everyone's saying and hoping that this "doesn't turn into a cringy fandom" or whatever. There's always sides like these, to every fandom. If you hate it so much just ignore it :/ No matter what, this game looks like it's gonna be pretty epic. Can't wait!
Cringey fanbases can overtake an otherwise decent fandom. its hard to igno re when everything you go to look for fanart or something, you see people ruining every ones experience by being obnoxious.
For all your questions... They claim to still be working on is every day for about 8 hours. Instead of being impatient just wait. They said that they will (probably) release it at the end of 2019. Please give them time to make an amazing game for us. But they might not release it depending on how much attention it gets... So far, It looks really beautiful and a great game which really hypes me up. A story told by an RPG game with Great potential to maybe even surpass undertale. But is no one going to address How pretty and imaginative this is? The artwork is absolutely beautiful. a story that I can only guess what might be just a little of how the plot takes in. A sad and maybe even a depressed boy who enters a state of imagination and finds friends that try to introduce him to a colorful happy world. he still tries to in a way "defeat the black monsters" which obviously shows that they have a connection to a dark world that this boy lives in. Maybe even a fuel to the dark world wanting to "take over". I could say more but I just don't know how to put this beautiful game into words. I can't wait for this game to come out. I really hope it gets lots of attention so The creators feel the need to pursue this game and make it happen! please like not for clout but for others to see. :)
no one would get mad if in this 5 (almost 6) years they gave us some updates; it almost look like they released some artwork from the actual game after some brackers in the KS were trying to make a lawsuit against OMOCAT, since the KS, the official page and social pages looks likes ghosts
Omori's birthday was written on one art: 4/4 And it is today! Let's congratulate our boy on his birthday! Happy birthday Omori!!! We will be waiting for you with the release of the game no matter how much is required!
wait is this true? where can i find the pic? and spoilers if you haven't finished the game i thought his was the same as sunny's 07/20 since they're basically the same person
oh, sorry. this comment was before game released. Many things was changed so this is no longer true but if you still interested in the art. in omori's twitter was old versions of photos and there was a photo with Omori's birthday and the date 4/4
Please. Folks. Stop complaining. The RPG Maker community is underground by its nature, I get it, but... logically... popularity is good. If it'll lead to the explodey Undetale-type fandom, so what? If you'll allow your impression of the game be spoiled by some excitable kiddies, how can you call yourself a fan, then? We can stil slither into some dark corner and love the game in our own way, while the rest of the fanbase will play in the sun, squealing and indulging in ship fights. That's how every single fandom is, really. Just be happy that it's still alive and is coming along nicely. I was keeping an eye on OMORI since the Kickstarter went up, and I'm simply excited to see it doing well.
The Glass Man I like it as a cool little thing but I still show the trailers to friends and stuff because I just want this game to be really successful.
Wow, this is my first time every seeing something for this game, but it looks incredibly beautiful! The soundtrack, graphics, lighting, atmosphere, and overall gameplay look enchanting! I'll definitely be buying this when it comes out. :)
seeing how some of the rooms have changed since this trailer is soo cool like the train at 0:51, im guessing this is sweetheart’s castle at 0:58, and dino dig at 0:43 :0
Omori is still in development! An update post was posted on Feb. 14th 2019, and a demo that was released to Kickstarter backers only was taken into consideration and has led to some new improvements in the game. Apparently they’re aiming for the end of 2019.
God I remember watching this trailer the day after it released cause it was on my reccomended. I remember sitting on my couch on my phone watching this trailer, having an existential crisis after I finished it, and falling in love with this game and following it excitedly waiting for it's release day. I'm so glad I stuck around and got to experience it the day it released. This is my favorite trailer of the three, and I'll never get over it or the story
"We were aiming to resolve our programming issues sooner, but it looks like that won't be the case. For now, we will be fine-tuning the gameplay and graphics, and reworking some story elements. I am aware that another release date delay will come with a fair amount of backlash, but we can’t just “pump out a game”, especially one that performs inadequately. Our team is extremely dedicated and has been working on this game almost every day for the past few years. We want to give you something that shows our work to it’s fullest potential, so we will continue working every day this year to bring you that experience"
I feel the need to say this now, please don't harass others and brag about being one of the "originals" and that you're here before the fandom "goes cringey." You can control what is on your subscription page/dashboard/timeline, leave the others alone. We all just want to have a good time. Don't pay attention to the vocal minority, they are probably pre-teens that want to join in on the fun but dont have good ideas... yet. Please be kind.
Bobby Jones Well, the way I'm seeing it, after seeing stuff like Undertale (OR ANY SONIC GAME) go from "super great game" to "that game with the shitty fandom", people are like "Oh shit I don't want this new thing to have a shitty fandom!" and start scaring other people away I also don't want this to have a shitty fandom, but I'm also not gonna try so hard to scare away others to keep it that way
Marcus Calixte That's how the Undertale fandom went to shit. A lot of people kept on saying "This is the new FNAF". With the combination of let's players, people who say that the fandom was shit, surprise surprise, it went to shit. Hell, most of the things the fandom supposedly done before that moment weren't even it's fault. No offence, but people who try to scare others from a product are the problem.
ThatOneKiwi As a kid, I was actually quite into pixel horror RPGs like Mad Father, Ib, Witch's House, and Misao; sure, they terrified me but something about them seemed so interesting. If anything, Omori may gain a 10+ following, but anyone below 12 would be the silent minority. We'll probably come across some MS Paint fan art of "insane" characters with neon red blood dripping on them occasionally, though. If this game manages to keep respect in it's horror aspect, unlike FNAF, it should have a mature/respectful audience as the majority.
I'd like to believe that one day this game will come out. Three years ago I had goals, I was happy, and I made an effort to be a better person; I was also excited for the day I could play this game. Even if things change and aren't the same as they were before, I still have hope for Omori ;)
So wait, for the 3DS is it gonna be on a cartridge or just the E-Shop? I don't have any funds for my account but I'll get some if it's not gonna be a physical game
A lot of people in the comments are really ignorant to be honest. OMORI has all the potential to become as popular as Undertale (as example) and that's great. Of course, all the kids, shippers and fanboys also would be there, but it also would mean that a lot of people were able to experience a great game. More than that, all those ships and comics (even crappy ones) mean that people really loved the game and an artist can't wish anything else. Anyway, it's ignorant to say that you hate fan comics - sure, thay can be cringey, but it's the fan's way of showing their appreciation and attempt to prolongue the life of this universe. And some of the fans are really talented, doing amazing jobs. And it's not hurting the game itself - if you don't like it, just don't watch it. As for the fanbase as a whole, look no further that for the sturgeon's law which says that 90% of ANYTHING is shit. Everyone are talking about Overwatch, Undertale and Minecraft fanbases, but tell me, are COD and Battlefield fans are better? Maybe Zelda fans aren't salty when you don't think that it's the best franchise ever? Didn't resident evil fans started a whole debate about RE7 being first person? Maybe the elder scrolls fans are not telling that it's the best RPG ever and Dark Souls fans are not telling everyone to just get gud? Mass effect fans shitted all over interned about ME3 ending. Aren't the Star Wars, Lord of the Ring, Marvel and DC comic fans considered as toxic nerds? And yet all of those games and universes are great, influencial and well deserved their popularity and recognition. Without any of them, today's culture wouldn't have been such as we know her today. And OMORI has all chances to join them and stay in history. EVERY popular piece of fiction gets a fanbase and 90% of EVERY fanbase is shit. But there are also some great people and great artists amoung them, actually quite a lot. I've seen people becoming friends, because of being a fans. I've seen people wanting to live again thanks to the same undertale. Fanbases are not as toxic as people want them to see. And saying that you don't want artist to get recognition and people to enjoy the game just because you are too touchy and can't deal with fanart and fanfiction is really ignorant. And if the game will be good (in which i really hope), it's probably gonna explode. Markiplier always plays indie psycological-horror anxiety-themed games, so OMORI sounds exactly like his jam. And even if not him, the game has all chances to shoot anyway. And i really hope so. And you can forget about porn. Even low profile gems have porn. Remember the little game "IB"? It got shit ton of porn (even some futanari). It's rule 34, you can't fight it.
Tie Lint And Parsley That's... really kind of you. Thank you. Not that i care about subs, but im glad that my words are not just sound for some people.
IB has rule 34 .-.? OMFG what does that people have in their head?!! that´s disgusting. You have a good point of view and I agree to the majority of what you said, but I have to admid I don´t really like those small amounts (because it´s a little part, it isn´t real that half of the fanbase is like that) of fans who see porn in EVERYTHING. As you said there are a LOT of excellent fanworks, it isn´t right to judge everyone as toxic fans. Sorry for my english :c
I think this is the reason why you have to practice making games mamy times before doing a big project like this. Several years of delays because of unfixable bugs (maybe because spaghetti codes) and another new bugs... both the developer and the fans who are waiting the game must be frustrated as hell.
it's really sad, i've been waiting for 2 years now and i'm still hoping for the release but reading all these comments about the delay and waiting really is frustrating :( omori reminds me a lot of yume nikki and off and i'd really really love to play it
What we expected : Psycological Horror Game... What we really got (even better) : Eternal Sadness and Emotional Trauma, with an Unheathy Addiction tothis Game OMORI...
Not really. They come out with an update asking for sympathy because they're working sooo hard on the game every 3-6 months. Do we even have any real footage of the game past a few trailers and gifs?
Rockbell and yet none of those people can be bothered to give a monthly update on how the game is going at all? I dont mind that it's taking forever I mind that they don't keep us updated at all and then come out every 6 months and say its been a struggle because of mental health. I dont even not believe that there are people on their team, which as you mentioned is very large, affected by mental health problems but I'm tired of excuses for delays and a complete lack of communication. How am I even supposed to know that their team is still working on the gane at all when they rarely even post updates. Am I just supposed to trust then despite a lack of reaults. As you said it's a large team of people, someone should be able to put out an update once a month that says yeah this month we got some work done and we're still doing this
@@Oliver-pe8om A demo came out back in April for those who backed the Kickstarter. So far, we've been able to see roughly 3 1/2 hours of decent gameplay.
i had never heard of this game before until it was released on Gamepass, i decided to try it cause it kinda looked like Mother/Earthbound. once i started playing i got drawn in, this game is amazing. one of the best things that happened to Gamepass this year.
Yo, look at how *different* everything looks in this trailer. Like, I can still generally tell what zones are what, for the most part, but wow, they had a big overhaul. (SPOILERS FOR ZONES AND PLOT STUFF) 0:39 I think that's supposed to be the lake in Otherword, considering there's Space Bunnies walking around, as well as the pink/purple ground color scheme. But what's with the big fish thing? So strange. 0:42 This must be Orange Oasis, and this might be what was Dino Dig, unless you could dig stuff everywhere in the OG Orange Oasis. The desert-y vibe was kept, but they've totally make it a play on food and stuff, particularly grains and brown sugar, and I love
The other shadows actually DO have names within the game files. I guess they scrapped revealing the names in the actual game to keep that air of mystery and creepiness that Something has Side note - Dorothy was actually renamed Dorothi in the files. Why this is I’m not gonna say because *spoilers*
1:29 This area, where you would have met the core of Something, a space that even Omori would have feared as it was all of Sunny's fears manifesting as 1 singular being actually made it to the game as the prelude to the Something in the Dark fight.
I hate these people saying "Please don't let this fandom be cringe-worthy" because they're the ones who bring negativity to their fandoms. They're the problem, not the victim...
When someone else acts a certain way about a certain thing, it tends to garner a reputation for that, and with games, people that genuinely simply want to enjoy a game and discuss it and analyze it like a true critic, not like a 9 year old weeaboo, get negatively affected by that stigma to the point of not enjoying the game as much. I agree, you can simply not think about it and move on, but it's not as easy as you think if you already have a certain impression nagging at you in the back of your mind.
The story telling/writing is incredible, the music is incredible and the characters feel so real and progress. I haven't been impacted by a game like this in a very long time, it's such a roller coaster of emotions. I cried my heart out till there was nothing left like twice, once for each route at different points.
a lost friend introduced this trailer and the older trailer for it when i was in 7th grade. i'm a junior now, and just got news that it's coming out later this year. i want to cry. i wish i could see how excited she might be for it
I don't know why but this games tone makes me fell really sad. like someone who has forgotten there past and is reclaiming it slowly. Im going to get the game when it comes out to know the whole story.
Hype! Love the art style. Also, I got this video in my recommendations right after I came back from a trip out of country, so it's a great way to come back!
It's amazing seeing how much artwork went unused, how much of the mechanics and what seemed likely mostly complete maps were changed. And it's terrifying see just how different scenes were used in the final game in context...

2017 is looking good so far. I've been hyped since the first trailer and I'm still excited for the game. I see that the battle system has changed dramatically, and thats something I was the most curious about honestly. I still do, but the waiting is too much ;-; I hope this is one of those cases where I check up something that I haven't seen in a long time, and the next few days there's an awesome update about it, like a book or a movie... But, hooo boy, the day that this game is finally playable, I'll be an important partner to the team working on this, spamming and letting everybody know about Omori.
As I understand you, I have already started trying to hook my friends with this game. I'm afraid what will happen to me when the game really comes out.....
I don't know why but i have goosebumps everytime i watch this trailer, the graphics, the music, the overall look of the game just makes me excited,i can't wait !
In just a few short weeks this trailer will be two years old, and we still have no clue when the hell its coming out. Man I need this game but dammit all waiting forever or just straight up cancellation is seeming more and more likely
MyDogIsYoshi Actually the name comes from the word Hikikomori that is used to people who doesn't go out of their rooms at anytime .But is interesting what you said.
MyDogIsYoshi I believe it's a huge combination of things. For starters, the nickname for Hikkomori: Omori, but also contains "omo" from omocat and story isn't actually far fetched. Omori had a short webcomic called "Omori's Story", although Omori was already a predetermined name by then.
This game is real freaking dark. I just want you to know before playing. I mean, if you having problems with suicide and stuff you should steer clear. That being said, this game is legit amazing.

Pathetic Yeah,, this happens more often than many would hope.
I'm late for this party but cringy fandom aside, I'm pretty sure this game will be epic, like there are many things that haven't revealed yet right?
You just CAN'T ignore the cringe sides of fandoms like Undertale or MLP
EVEN IF the fandom gets cringey, i hope this game it's super popular and gets all the recognition it deserves.
Looking at this trailer now, nearly everything shown had been scrapped or redone. No wonder this took forever to get out.
It's honestly crazy how different it looks the more this trailer goes on.
Welcome to a OMORI trailer.
We have good people:
And then we got people whose comments didn’t really age well:
Yeah there were a few people who said that the game is a scam and will never be out… it’s pretty funny when you find them
For all your questions...
They have a 3 hour demo for backers. They also are running another company. Se game will probally realease in late 2020 of in the middle if 2021
blank hole yes yes thank you
They obviously meant at the end of 2020 lol

Omori's birthday was written on one art: 4/4
And it is today! Let's congratulate our boy on his birthday! Happy birthday Omori!!! We will be waiting for you with the release of the game no matter how much is required!

oh, sorry. this comment was before game released. Many things was changed so this is no longer true
but if you still interested in the art. in omori's twitter was old versions of photos and there was a photo with Omori's birthday and the date 4/4
Please.

"We were aiming to resolve our programming issues sooner, but it looks
like that won't be the case. For now, we will be fine-tuning the
gameplay and graphics, and reworking some story elements. I am aware
that another release date delay will come with a fair amount of
backlash, but we can’t just “pump out a game”, especially one that
performs inadequately. Our team is extremely dedicated and has been
working on this game almost every day for the past few years. We want to
give you something that shows our work to it’s fullest potential, so we
will continue working every day this year to bring you that experience"

I feel the need to say this now, please don't harass others and brag about being one of the "originals" and that you're here before the fandom "goes cringey." You can control what is on your subscription page/dashboard/timeline, leave the others alone. We all just want to have a good time. Don't pay attention to the vocal minority, they are probably pre-teens that want to join in on the fun but dont have good ideas... yet. Please be kind.
Thank you and the team for working hard on the game. Looking forward to playing it!
After beating the game this trailer is, something...
I will like to say that the people who are saying the fandom will be shit are the ones making it shit.
Pretty much everyone on the first trailer's comments and the short demo's comments.
Probably this video's comments in a bit.

Well, the way I'm seeing it, after seeing stuff like Undertale (OR ANY SONIC GAME) go from "super great game" to "that game with the shitty fandom", people are like "Oh shit I don't want this new thing to have a shitty fandom!" and start scaring other people away
I also don't want this to have a shitty fandom, but I'm also not gonna try so hard to scare away others to keep it that way
Marcus Calixte That's how the Undertale fandom went to shit.
ThatOneKiwi Tru tru
ThatOneKiwi As a kid, I was actually quite into pixel horror RPGs like Mad Father, Ib, Witch's House, and Misao; sure, they terrified me but something about them seemed so interesting. If anything, Omori may gain a 10+ following, but anyone below 12 would be the silent minority. We'll probably come across some MS Paint fan art of "insane" characters with neon red blood dripping on them occasionally, though. If this game manages to keep respect in it's horror aspect, unlike FNAF, it should have a mature/respectful audience as the majority.
Genuinely hyped for this project with the levels of creativity in both the direction and the artistic department.

Wow, I'm speechless. This game looks astounding. What platforms will it be for?
It's existence is meant for the 3ds, and PC as far as we know.
Alexander Speaks Sweet, playing this on 3DS sounds awesome. I hope they're able to keep it on 3DS.
Omori will be released on PC, Mac and 3DS. A PS Vita release was the last stretch goal on the Kickstarter, but it sadly didn't reach it.
they will support Mac, PC, Nintendo 3ds and if the funds go up PSVita will be on the list
An you, sir/madam/whatever, just gained a subscriber for that awesome speech

Never have I heard truer words.
Aw hell yeah dude, i literally couldn't have said it better

Not really. They come out with an update asking for sympathy because they're working sooo hard on the game every 3-6 months. Do we even have any real footage of the game past a few trailers and gifs?
Oliver Do you know how many people are working on it?
Rockbell and yet none of those people can be bothered to give a monthly update on how the game is going at all? I dont mind that it's taking forever I mind that they don't keep us updated at all and then come out every 6 months and say its been a struggle because of mental health. I dont even not believe that there are people on their team, which as you mentioned is very large, affected by mental health problems but I'm tired of excuses for delays and a complete lack of communication. How am I even supposed to know that their team is still working on the gane at all when they rarely even post updates. Am I just supposed to trust then despite a lack of reaults. I see Omori as a combo of "Omocat" and "story."
Ooh! Thanks for the info. :3

This game is real freaking dark. I just want you to know before playing. I mean, if you having problems with suicide and stuff you should steer clear. That being said, this game is legit amazing.
