Sleeper hit for sure! More people ought to know about this one. Super comfortable in the hand and puts grip as a top priority. I feel like it's able to be very strong but also really delicate when cutting bigger tougher things, the choil makes all the difference.
I recently got the Pilar. I love it! I have the Pilar and the smaller Fossil. They’re both my favorites knives in my,not yet large, knife collection. I’ve been focusing on budget knives and working my way up. Nice video.
I think all of the improvements you made to that knife are spot on! Thanks for showing your mods because most people who saw it may not notice all of those subtle changes. And it looks fantastic! Good job Mark!
I do not have the pilar. Reminds me of the RR Bullfrog. Or I should say the Bullfrog reminds me of the Pilar! You really do some work on your knives. My only issue is I'm not a fan of frame locks
Some suggestions for the channel. Use way less personal and possessive pronouns. The videos are about knives first and the narrator should be a distant second. Doing that may improve your viewing numbers pretty quickly. This is meant to be constructive criticism and not a troll thing. Watch a video from William's Knife Life for a good example of what I mean.
I like your feedback however I was primarily going over what I did to the knife. Understood about being distant and letting the knife speak for itself. However here I felt like discussing what I did to make the knife better. Really like the feedback will try to implement this in later videos
@@markcoffman494 it was personal and possessive because it wasn't a review, it was how you made your pilar perfect for you. I enjoyed the video and love the pilar, after I finish my current project then the pilar will be my next for "upgrading" . Going to hit subscribe for the passion you had talking about these very small changes that make a big difference.
@@markcoffman494 you're more than welcome. I'm trying to find bearings that will squeeze into the pilar, failing that I will be using pb washers although my pilar is very smooth already from being nearly 5 years old. I've already modded one but this one is getting a big upgrade.

I wish CRKT did those modifications out of the factory.
Nice job on that
Thank you so much! I
How would I chamfer brass liners in a knife that are sharp? thx
You can use a small ceramic file in around them off very carefully. What knife model is it?
@@markcoffman494 Several. All budget knives. Rite Edge and some budget tactical knives. At least 3.
@@markcoffman494 just noticed it on the Old Timer canoe from China. The knife is really nice but that is bothersome.

@@DSNugent91 I was unable to find barring that work. You have to mill out a path or great at space for them in the blade.
