      Genuinely thought he was talking about Matt Smith, which I thought a little odd, as he’s as much petrolhead as he is EV promoter. As proved by his barn find series, and sleeper Allegro. How stupid am I?🤣

    Tesla has been laying off people all over in the past few weeks. Recently, Tesla just laid off the whole supercharger division, including the director of the supercharger network of 18 years. To me, this seems to be a signal that Tesla either isn't willing to support the vehicles he has already produced but future vehicles as well. When Teslas first arrived in California, I was seriously thinking of purchasing one. After months of reading and research, I am now glad I didn't... The amount of issues with batteries, as well as so many other issues that are not covered by any warranty or very limited warranty coverage, just made my mind up not to purchase an EV. Additionally, according to Tesla, any and all super charging stations have been put on indefinite hold. Many of the new supercharger were scheduled to be installed in the New York area. At this moment, the whole division has been eliminated, and no superchargering networks will be finished for the indefinite future... Is this the best time to buy a Tesla? Personally, I would say stay away...

    Yes when diesels vehicles were once good for the environment, it was a lot cheaper than petroleum fuel because diesel is far cheaper to produce, due to it's not refined as much as petroleum. So to increase the cost of diesel they slapped a tax on it, thus making it far more expensive and because nearly all goods are delivered in diesel lorries, everything goes up in price. Follow the money!

    Great video and I am someone from the Netherlands who absolutely does not want to buy an electric car. I have been driving my Volkswagen Golf MK4 with a 1600 petrol engine (8 valve) for 25 years with 260,000 kilometers of experience. I fill up my tank in 3 minutes and can then continue for about 750 kilometers, in summer and winter, and don't have to wait for a spot at a gas station. All electric car owners are types who want to show how good they are financially and/or how well they are doing for the climate, but they do fly around the world several times a year for holidays. They do not want to admit that they have been deceived by the climate madness and the pressure from politics and the media. They are generally very proud people who cannot tolerate contradiction. Keep up the fight against electric cars. I will forward your videos to other people. Let the petrol car exist and make it even cleaner, then everyone will be happy. Most of the waste comes from industry, not from gasoline cars. It is a means to more control over the population, nothing more!! Greetings, Rick from the Netherlands.

    Shared. NO to ev. Just think the price of electric when the government need taxes with no ice cars. And the whole household electric will have to pay for it because they are charging at home.
    Power to the motorcar with sole.

      No need for that whatsoever. More likely is smart chargers reporting kWh used for charging, that's one option or even more likely would be road pricing. No need to couple household electricity to EV costs though.

    The Wife and I recently returned from a long weekend in the Cotswolds. We live in London and I too my 2007 Mercedes CLS 320CDI on the trip as it was unlikely I would be able to take the top off my SL given the weather. I filled up with diesel before the trip and used just over a quarter of the tank covering more than 250 miles so theoretically I have a range of more than 700 miles. I drove like a vicar staying within the speed limits to see how high I could get the mileage indicator and I got 43 mpg on the way out after a massive jam on the M25 and 45 mpg on the return! I will never drive an EV or sell my CLS even though its not ULEZ compliant!

      @@paulscott1759according to the AA, the Taycan is one of the lowest depreciating cars at 37% over 3 years. Some EVs are nearer 60% over same period. Tesla at around 43% and a typical ICE just below that figure.

    Running a conventional fueled car ( fuel cost only ) is around 12 to 15 pence per mile ( does not include gas guzzlers, obviously ), which means at "normal" ( standard ) rate, is roughly comparable to the fuel cost of electric vehicles doing 2 miles per KWH at 24p to 30p per KWH. It certainly is not cheaper, unless you have at least 30 KW of solar panels on your roof. Electric vehicles are the past, not the future.

    • @JSMITH6298
      @JSMITH6298 Месяц назад

      Hate to disappoint you but it’s massively cheaper than that to run an EV on home charging. Around 2 p per mile with no solar at all.

    Lee, here’s a thought experiment. Imagine that we were being urged to move from using EVs to ICE cars. Imagine the queues trying to get hold of the new ICE vehicles. Just look at the advantages. No more queuing or waiting for hours to charge, refuelling in a couple of minutes, double or triple the range, less depreciation due to worn out batteries, cheaper insurance as the cars less easily written off due to fears over battery damage, etc,etc. Yes there is a place for Electric Vehicles but they will not be viable mainstream vehicles for much of the population for a long time. Not until battery efficiencies improve and they are easily recycled, the electric grid is upgraded , the charger network is vastly improved. Even then they will not be suitable for all users and journeys. A mix of EV, ICE, Hybrid and synthetic fuels will be needed.
