The Yellow car wasn't american, it's British, It's a Humber Super Snipe or Imperial.
It was, rodded cars are a great waste of original cars.
I used to commute on Eurostar to Paris for 13 months it was great especially after I qualified to use the business lounges….that was luxury
Loved the hot rods , the Hot Rod Super Snipe was built years ago and is well known in hot rod circles. I absolutely love it.When I was a kid in the 70's a familly friend had one which had side exhaust pipes and the suspension was so jacked up at the rear I could only see the sky out the back window. I thought it was the coolest car ever !
That Yellow car, I thought that was WALL-E sitting on the bonnet 😅.

If it was all the way on the eurostar easy win for Lee but I think he got to change on to the slow local train

For Le Mans, use the Tunnel sous Manche, head towards Rouen, from there past Bernay to Le Mans. Bernay was a venue for tractor pulling which was a favorite on tv at one time before football took over as sport forsaking all others. Been to the motor museum at Le Mans, lived within 3 hours of the track for 20 years, never been to the race. Wish I was coming with you. Good luck. You will cross two viaducts on the way down, watch for the speed cameras at the end of each.
If you want less driving, the Portsmouth to St Malo route is a decent option. Longer ferry crossing but shorter road journey. Done the Calais route the first time we went but the journey when you get to France is very long. We usually go in a motorhome and we leave on a Wednesday night camp a nearby campsite to Portsmouth for the night and catch the ferry in the morning. Usually you get to the track around the start of the Thursday evening/night practice session. On the return we leave early Monday morning for the earliest ferry in the morning.
We went last year for the 100th anniversary and it was brilliant.
I know that place - its the Lakeland Village. We stayed there last September and it wasn't great but we did enjoy fish and chips in the Whitewater Hotel. I can recommend Cafe Ambio in the motor museum for lunch. 👍
Lee, the yellow car with the supercharger sticking up through the bonnet is a Humber Super Snipe from the 60s.

@@derekdainton1 No it is a Humber Super Snipe although I think they plagiarized the Chevies from the fifties.
You need to get there by Wednesday if you want to see it all. Practice Wednesday. Another Practice and qualification Thursday.. Hyper pole friday.And the race Saturday and sunday. The best race of the year. Remember when we was talking about Bathhurst when you was down under
So the next video I watch will make me up to date, the first time since the 6th December 2023. Hopefully I will remain up to date, although I will probably have a big break at Xmas again so will be back behind. Keep it up Lee

Yes and when booked at short notice E* can be expensive.
Skip Paris - change at Lille and get the TGV direct to Le Mans (and for the return the TGV runs to CDG Airport too).
3 classes hypercar. LMP2, and GT3. But if you not got ticket dont think you get in .
From London to Le Mans is about the same time (6-6.5 hours) for both the car (via Eurotunnel) and the train traveller ((Eurostar, Metro, TGV, Local train + walking).
So the crux will be where the starting point is.
The train should win. The most time consuming bit will be to get from Mansfield to HS1 at St Pancras. After that it should be relatively quick to Paris where you will need to change trains and stations. You will need to get from Gare de Nord to Gare Montparnasse station to get to Le Mans

Win or lose you will be cleaner as eurostar is electric and mainly from green electric

Bilboa to Portsmouth is a nice ferry run with a car, spent 3days when I did it last.

2 comments Lee - you'll avoid the French speed traps and cameras - eat at Le Tertre Rouge - you can walk out of the circuit at Tetre Rouge and save €'s not the best but best at Le Mans
Your starting points should be Worcester and Mansfield. Both very similar miles to London. Both starting at 08.00 ish.

Le Shuttle is the car and wagon carrying train, Eurostar is the passenger service.

How will you get to Le Mans from the Eurostar?
Pointless for a race if you dont follow the times it says for you to charge on the porshe navigation and charging to 100 percent at every stop. Takes you twice as long.

I know this isn't a ev video but I've got a question if you pass your driving test in a ev is it same as if you pass in a Automatic that you can only drive a ev I ask because when i was out yesterday I saw someone learning to drive in a Tesla

@@kevinlorryman781 Just returned from Marmaris & barely any EV's , Spotted the odd little weird looking smart car thing, Couple of Peugeot's & a Taycan .Not that I was hunting them down but only saw 1 charger in the week we were there.Did notice how cheap petrol & LPG is compared to the UK which may be a factor, Also most European countries we've visited sell LPG at all filling stations which never really took off & died a death here.
@@GrantHarvey-tx9sl lpg is massive in turkey petrol if you do conversion right is about same as uk but wage is 8k a year so massively costly . Most turks have scooters and use buses . Main thing is duty a standard eu car new is double the price so any new car is only for the wealthy. They have got there own EV company it will take a while yet .

Ford Popular is NOT American. I want to tell you how to drive your EV in Europe, drive it to Dover park, near the cliffs pointing towards France, put it in neutral and get out. Then push really hard until it gets effortless and your problems will go away. The Eurostar and a plane, didn't go well for Top Gear.
