I also thought of flipping the bracket , on the first set . But it looks like you could just make a flat plate bracket , with the pivot lower , even back-set , to get your pedals down by the floor more . I agree , the use of that master cylinder set would both look cool , & be easily functional . I too like this car . It's kind of a clean slate , to exhibit what was done "back in the day" , from many different years & parts available , to "customize" a hot rod back then . Nice job on the pitman arm , less is more , & I feel it went perfectly . Smoke wrench included ! Great job , gents !
Morning Matt, your 33 is probably my most favorite build, I missed out on a 33-34 when I was 15 years old(64 now), the car had a 2 barrel carbed DeSoto Hemi sitting in it, I don't remember to much about it except my Dad wouldn't let me get it, I'm over it....you all be safe!!! There's a new flu virus going around, I have it, I was in the ER twice over Thanksgiving.....God Bless!!
Loved the video! Car guys are big kids at heart, we all enjoy sitting in our unfinished rides and imagining driving the finished car. The miles put on our rides "pretend driving" are all part of the fun.
Great Matt. Got your steering. Your fabrication will get your pedals where you need them. Kinda hard without a seat. But sure you will get it the way you want. Thanks for sharing!
The neat old chrome pedals are English Ford 100E. Late 50s Anglia, Prefect. Not chrome in the 100E, of course, but I recognise the bracket. The bolt spacing on the bracket matches the English style Girling master cylinders.
Matt, glad to see that you are getting back to work on the 33 3 window. The 33-34s are one of my favorites, chopped and channeled of course! I like the 32 roadster you are working on as well but I like the low-boy look better. as we said back in the day "low is the way to go". looking forward to up coming features on the 33. 😎
Awesome three window. I'd love to work on that. And good luck on the pedals. I imagine it will take time to get just that right feel since it's something you'll have to live with every time you drive it.
Keyboard hotrodder here: 1- hang those original pedals on the stock location [so the rods line up easy] 2- mark & cut 'em at full depress [to that angle in the firewall] 3- weld some rod or other similar metals [from other projects] to extend those pedals back to where they are comfortable[ I can see in the video where you want to put your feet. Put the pedals pads there and connect the dots back to the masters. [even if you gotta mount those masters in reverse ;) ]
The appearance of this car is very cool. Seeing you working on the practicalities of the steering and pedals is a good demonstration of aesthetics not always aligning with the ergonomics. I have no doubt you will figure it all out.
on a different subject at your shop , every one of these videos I take notice to the when the garage doors are down I keep seeing all this light coming thru the under the bottoms of the doors, hence " heat loss & bad drafts on cold windy days !!! I see you guys had all that work done up stairs, and yet the place you spend most of your time in has these " wicked " door gaps that you could pass " cigars " under or more !!! that is a easy fix to pour concrete for a flat sealing surface / or now to cold to pour ? / at least a length of 2x6 x 3/8" or 1/2" channel steel upside down , the length of the doors imbedded in the stone for a flat sealing surface . I'm sure your favorite scrap yard you always brag about would have that material handy for that small task !! JUST - SAYIN !! KEEP UP THE GOOD HUSTLE YOUR GETTIN THEM DONE !!!!!
That's a you statement, that's your first mistake, not to mention that YOU,don't get to have a say in how this man builds hotrods,he got more knowledge than the average bear...
Another great video/explanation of the build process! Had the same problem with my '46 Business Coupe compounded by the Power Glide transmission. All the foot space just disappeared. Had to move the seat back (people were smaller back in the day). Then had to mess with brake and gas pedal spacing for a week. Trick I used for getting the bend in the custom brake pedal bracket was to make a beer box template of the shape and then outline it with heavy copper wire taped to the outline shape so it would hold its shape while trying to find the proper bends and angles. Once it worked around the column, I fired up the torch and matched the bend with the template. Pain in the ass but loads of fun! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!
Rare "34" Ford three window hot rod, deserves an Auburn machined urned dash...It's your car, so make it mats, jus sayin.... Subbed, and always a thumbs up!
There is an auction in Va with lots of early a and b body and mechanical parts. NT Arrington on Proxibid. It may have that piece of unobtanium you lack
Maybe a stock (39) pedal assembly would be more functional? I wonder if this car was ever driven after it was chopped and channeled? I know you'll figure it out Matt!🤔
Question/suggestion: Do you ever go back to your old vids? It has been so long since you worked on this car, there might be good ideas in previous segments that you have forgotten. I also suggest you rig up a pretty good simulator of the seat you intend to use. That foam cushion can't be as thick as the real seat will be. You need to fit your thighs under the wheel, and still be able to move your legs to get to the pedals. Your body size, position, and range of motion need to be accounted for before you figure out where to mount the pedals.
That rig has been a long time coming, it just had to fall into the right hands. Nice work! Those pedals are going to have to fit the step in the firewall. Easier to fab your own.
I have a very good friend that had a 33 three window mounted on an older corvette chassis early 70s, he sold it to a guy in the detroit area who put it away and has not been seen since, heard he won’t sell it
I sent you some drawings of pedal setups that will work on instagram. As others have written in the comments, I like the 33 most, of all the really cool hot rods you have at your mega-cool garage. Your doin good, Keep on Truckin
I'm confused as to how are the pedals going to work with the 2 master cylinders up so high? Seems like they are as high as where you bolt the pedal hanging plate, and above the pivotal point. I know that I can't really tell from my point of view though. Great show Matt, thanks for another, Hmm, I'm confused edition of...... "Iron Trap Garage"
The masters bolt to the other side of the “hanging plate” the push rod is just under the pivot and attached to the pedal arm. Look up rjays speed shop they sell a similar set up and will have photos that show how it works.
Is the configuration of the firewall wrong for what you need for the pedals to fit your leg position? I know it may mean a great deal of metal work, but????
I'm thinking the firewall needs to reshape where the petal's are it comes in to fare . where it covers from the floor then go up some what straight up to the back of the dacha bord. I cud be wrong on my thinking

Absolutely 😎
My favorite cars the 33 34 3 window coupe glad to see you build true hotrods not trailer queens keep up the great work
Glad you're back on this one! One of my favorites because as there's no history to the car you can run wild with it.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. This car would look awesome with a sunroof on it
Another great preservation project.

Thank you for sharing some thoughts on how to fix it up !

40 dash & wheel is a nice addition.
I would figure out your car seat first I agree with the other comment... Then set your clutch and break pedal
The appearance of this car is very cool. Seeing you working on the practicalities of the steering and pedals is a good demonstration of aesthetics not always aligning with the ergonomics. I have no doubt you will figure it all out.
I love the color and body style of this Hot Rod !
It will be a sweet view when you have the supercharger up in your line of sight! Looking forward to you brake pedal solution.
You look super right in the window opening and hood elbow placement 😊
YOU GUYS ARE THE PERSONIFICATION OF THE TRUE AMERICAN SPIRIT THAT WE ALL LOVE!!💥👍REGARDS FROM AUSTRALIA!!❤🤍💙
This is my most favorite car you have. Even though I’m 6 foot tall and probably wouldn’t fit in it. Lol. It is awesome
I'm 6'4" tall. That's what the hole in the roof is for. Grab your goggles and go for a blast.

It’s on the list. I usually block the doors up for winter.
Heat rises.
Take a look at a 30-31 sef pedals...it's got the switchback you may need to get under the firewall. And then modify to suit.
You'll get it you guys always figure it out great video ty Steve
Hey guys,
33 is a cool little car, I like all your builds to be honest, Shroll Coupe is my favorite. I'm liking all the build videos lately. 🇨🇦
Looks nice so far
You are making progress, even if it just figuring out how much work is in front of you!!
One of my favorite cars 🥰 she’s going to be very cool 😎
You need to get the seat that you are going to use in the car first 😂
I have the seat height. A 2-3” thick piece of foam
On my A I used a slab of wood three inches thick, no foam just for pedal placement. It was dead on!
That's a you statement, that's your first mistake, not to mention that YOU,don't get to have a say in how this man builds hotrods,he got more knowledge than the average bear...
Matt, maybe you should mount the un-chromed set so they operate the master cylinders and then reconfigure the pedal arms to suit your foot feel.
Stock Car pedals with the master cylinders attached, possibly attached to the steering col.

Cool 😎 love it
Iwould look for a set of Thompson slides for brake pedals. I know it was never done in the day but would be so cool!
Look forward to seeing the final when you crack the throttle make some posi marks
Small victories yes!😊
I wonder if 36-39 pedals would work as kinda a mock up test as they are c shaped to go around the floor
There is an auction in Va with lots of early a and b body and mechanical parts. NT Arrington on Proxibid. It may have that piece of unobtanium you lack
Cool content
Love this project, great vid!!! 👍👍

Matt you're lucky you are the size you are you can fit in these old rods. I'd look like Herman Munster in all of them.
You will figure it out
That rig has been a long time coming, it just had to fall into the right hands. Nice work! Those pedals are going to have to fit the step in the firewall. Easier to fab your own.
share in your search for the right peddles, mine is on a 64.5 F100 restomod. Different but the same.
Put a smaller steering whell on it.
I have a very good friend that had a 33 three window mounted on an older corvette chassis early 70s, he sold it to a guy in the detroit area who put it away and has not been seen since, heard he won’t sell it
Has that bada$$ look like the yellow rod in American Graffiti.
One small step. A lot of thinking for the next.
Hi,is this the car the ARDUN Flathead is being built for?.Thanks Bob.
I sent you some drawings of pedal setups that will work on instagram. As others have written in the comments, I like the 33 most, of all the really cool hot rods you have at your mega-cool garage. Your doin good, Keep on Truckin
Can you mount them on the outside of the firewall to get them closer to the floor? Just thinking outload from far away.
Boo hoo I have to make pedals for 34 three window bad ass coop...wink wink...love the channel keep it guys
Surely you need to put the seat in you are going to use BEFORE the pedals?
under floor cylinders?
I'm confused as to how are the pedals going to work with the 2 master cylinders up so high? Seems like they are as high as where you bolt the pedal hanging plate, and above the pivotal point. I know that I can't really tell from my point of view though.

It appears to me that your steering column needs to come back a little bit more towards your lap.
Up and back maybe.
Tho at the angle the camera was ya can't really tell about up.

Be nice to get the rest of the car that green color that is in a few spots.
Nice Video.

Man isn't that hard on the gearbox seal? Seems as though it might harm it. I don't remember what the seals are made of.
Please tell me that you are still going to make the '33 a "nice" car!?!?
No promises here
jihuu
😎💙👍
