- This is my first time throwing a Messenger ball ever! I never had one in juniors and I didn't drill the previous 2. What better way to try one than with the OG look of the Black/Gold! Updated with PowerCOR and HK22 Reflex Pearl, the best of old school look and new school technology!
🚨🚨🚨BRAND NEW BRUNSNICK MERCH!🚨🚨🚨
I have collaborated with Inside Bowling to design some t-shirts and here they are! Sport some OG BrunsNick gear, check out the link!

With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
Launch Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
Entry Speed - Speed measured at the pins. (What you'd see on your home center MPH screens)
Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based from the True Breakpoint.
Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

Big fan of this ball in my younger years.
I think you make any bowling ball look good
"This coverstock has got it going on" Every review of the HK22 coverstock ever.
The facts are the facts. 😎
Came here to say this
“This HK22 additive is something special”. Every skilled bowler that has rolled a ball with HK22.
@@brunsnick You will get no arguments from me. Even as an SPI guy, there is no denying that the HK22 coverstock is the current goat.
Looks like I could use something like that all night on my center's THS. I prefer to move prior to quickly changing balls. Can't stand changing balls mid match unless I absolutely have too. Frequent corner pins are the only thing that makes me change.
I had a Red Ti Messenger drilled at Steve Jaros's shop, worked great for a while but started falling apart. This ball looks incredible.
the model of my ball was Messenger Titanium.
I found out my Columbia 300 Messenger is called Columbia 300 Messenger Tech I believe the Columbia 300 Messenger PowerCore will be slightly better than that old school ball. 🙂
I picked up the red/blue messenger pearl earlier this year and have been trying to learn how best to utilize the ball. I'm finding it likes that zone similar to this one. It really responds to the friction. This new black/gold Messenger looks awesome.
Red/Blue play more in the drier boards
I challenge you to use your strongest ball on a fully stripped lane
Challenge accepted.
Betters keep getting better and better 👏🏾🔥👍🏾😀
Hey Nick, do you think the Effect or Intense Mindset is a more versatile ball
They’re similar class of performance, hard to say. I love both.
Old school ball had Titanium Core
Nice video!
How does this bowling ball compare to the Kaboom, which was released not too long ago?
Wasn't there already a Black/Gold Messenger remake with a core that looked like a football?
Not sure?
How’s this compare to the new purple/gold fireball?
Same range.
I have a Columbia 300 Messenger Pearl but, mine is a red color. 🙂
I think it was reddish purple it was prior to the PowerCore. 🙂
I never threw the OG but I did have the Ti Messenger Pearl B/S/P which I absolutely loved. I think it's still in my parents loft collecting dust.
That was a good looking ball.
Hey Nick! With so many throwbacks coming back around, what do you think the chances are of Brunswick bringing back the Inferno line? My dad and I LOVED our Intense Infernos back in the day. I'd really enjoy seeing them make a reappearance. 😁
Infernos have been remade as vintage already. Not sure when we will see another.
@brunsnick yeah I saw the Vintage Inferno on the Tenpin Toolkit app, but I never saw them. I fell out of bowling for years, so that explains why I missed it. Maybe I'll get my hands on a Vintage someday.
Love the throwback classics with updated tech! Wonder how the new Tundra Blue Fire will compare? Judging by core numbers alone it looks like it'll be a step down from the Messenger B/G...but from what I've seen in early reviews of the Tundra, it looks just as strong.
that's what I want to know too. I've been looking at both and can't decide
Not totally old school when they change the cover.
Do you think if you started with the low flare, moved to this and then the Tundra blue fire that would be a good house shot arsenal?
@@justincox8193 very well could work if you’re really into symmetricals or more rev dominant.
Hey, Nick. Kind of surprised they have the Kaboom and this coming out so close together. Both are HK22 Reflex with virtually identical core numbers. How different are they and which is the stronger of the two? I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on one of these though. My OG cracked on me right after I had my best start to a league season in my 40 years of bowling (averaged over 250 heading into the holidays).
Great review for the Black/Gold Messenger. I have the Blue Messenger, and I love it. I can't wait to roll the new Messenger B/G. I really like your breakdowns, thanks!
My cover stock is reddish purple and it was prior to PowerCore because it doesn’t say PowerCore it was a popular ball in the early to mid 1990s. 🙂
I had the red/blue back in my 20s, relocated to CA, and all my eq got sold in a yard sale for a $1 each 😮! That new one looks sick with that new coverstock!! Thanks for the vid
The biggest problem with that old school ball from the early to mid 1990s when the lanes dried out it was awful in pin carry on the back side of the lanes. I would notoriously leave a stone 7 when the lanes broke down. 🙂
I would like to see that ball against the Envy Tour Pearl?! Looks like Messenger would be alittle sooner!
I would like to see them bring back the Absolute Inferno with this Hk22!
Like that ball
Original Messenger was the first reactive ball I had, given to me by a semi-pro friend. I miss that ball.
Big fan of this ball in my younger years. Looks to have similar motion just stronger coverstock.
How would you compare this ball to the Stealth pearl? Would this a ball down?
You are right. You guys put hk22 on everything
i had the original Blk/gold Titanium can’t wait to get this one
I had one of this and my game was good and evil !!!!
It brings back memories of my Ti-Messenger Solid. Next to my Cuda/C#3, it put a big smile on my face.😂
FYI Nick. That Cuda/C. 225-300-300=825 on 8/19/1999.🤣🤣
Nice! I shot my first 300/800 on the nose just 13 days before your feat.
@brunsnick Sweet!!! I actually bowled both my first sanctioned 300/800 on 1/20/1995. Unfortunately, I lost high set for the night to a wrongfoot, hop-skipping sumbitch who shot 825. A PBA Champion named Bob Caruso, who is a close friend.😆😂
@@charlespeakjr2168Amy can kick his butt now lol
@@yournightmareracing1754 Isn't Amy his daughter???
@@charlespeakjr2168 Yes sir. Bowled for FDU. I was a coach in the NEC when his daughter bowled and actually recruited her. Great family.
Want to see you throw the original
The Messengers is/was a great line. The one I really liked with the Ti/Messenger Low RG, but the shell kept cracking (one drilled and one undrilled). Great video BrunsNick!
Mine did the same thing
This could be ball of the year..........
How does it compare to the kaboom
With todays touring pros being so evenly matched( with about 8-10 being the exception that fills 3 of the 5 step ladder spots week after week) and who adjusts to lane conditions by switching to a ball that works on that pattern, i feel like someone who can figure out how to adapt by making whatever ball is in their hand work without completely making a ball change would do very well on tour. Players make 2 or so adjustments then mentally are looking at their bag or tour rep for help.
While you can take a ball quickly find its sweet spot quickly and keep it there longer could be very competitive and do well on todays .Tour
Maybe but I gave it my shot back in my 20’s trying to qualify through Tour Trials and wasn’t close. Now, I just don’t have the rev rate to compete.
Will this one be over under or burn?
Just bought it!!!
Nice! 🙌🏻 enjoy it when it comes in!
@brunsnick I know right!!! Thank you for the review
Brunsfirst!

Cool video talk tech bowling ball coulmbia 300 messenger bowling ball with hk22 technology and dynamic core technology in the bowling ball more strikes and spares hitting power at times brunsnick
Just ordered one. thanks for all you do ,. quick question also what would it change if you went to a 30 val angle?
@@rogercarlson2330 not a lot really, but as you increase that you’ll generally start decreasing flare.
@@brunsnick thank you.
