Hanging out in gaming cafes was how i relax in the early to late 2000s. Whether i was playing or watching other peoples games while eating chips and drinking soda. After having a stable job, i built my own powerful pc with rgb. And man was it so lonely in my home office. Home based gaming systems can never replicate the feeling and atmosphere of a gaming cafe. Americans/westerners who grew up on home consoles and pcs will never understand. I now sometimes play on a gaming laptop in cofee shops just to go back to that comforting familiar feeling.
I LOVE HER!! You gotta record with her again. She matches your energy, y’all were 0% awkward to watch interact with each other, it is a very organic friendship. I just subscribed to her! But bring her back!! She’d be great to take to an event like a parade or a concert or sports game. I’d love to see a Korean baseball game! Love you, Jimmy! (Ps I’m 35 too and we are old.. 😅😂)
Omg I literally just said that I would love to see more internet cafe vids from your previous livestream in malaysia almost a week ago and here it is, Thank you Jimmy!
Versing random people from my school at COD4 when it launched at an internet cafe down the street will always be a core memory for me. The smell of carpet, warm electrical parts with a hint of B.O will always take me back to those days.
In Kazakhstan, we call it Computer/Cyber clubs and have them everywhere. Most mid clubs have 3060/4060 280hz in standard rooms and only for 700 tenge(~$1.5) per hour or $5 per 5 hours with discount.
it's kinda true, I'm 24 now, used to play 48 hours straight at the weekends and sleep at school and now i can't handle gaming over 8 hours without aches
$6 usd/hr is insane, i assume most come here to play as a group; only way to justify that price. 2 months of pay is enough to buy your own decently high spec pc/build.
I don't know anything about internet cafes because 6 bucks an hour sounds pretty incredible to me for the setup your getting and the environment you get to relax in. I could see going every now and then for like 3 hours, it's the same price as going to the movies.
yes you are correct. But from my own experience commiting your time to a gaming cafe/internet cafe, one does not simply just stay there for merely 3 hours. Minimum is 6 hours. thats why most people think its shit expensive
Jimmy I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and it’s really great to see how much the channel has grown! Thank you for awesome, entertaining content- hopefully I can visit some of these places when I graduate!
I'm a chinese student who immigrated to the US. I love singapore! I think it's be the best of both east and west. (it used to be Hong Kong but too bad it's not any more). I had the good fortune to vacation in Singapore not too long ago. It's beautiful, but the only thing is wow it's expensive. I'm from shanghai, studied and work in the US, but Singapore makes US prices look cheap! But I still love it, and dream of retiring to it someday. It's better than US and better than China by far.
im glad the algorithm introduced this man to me, bruh his humor is pretty enticing lol im sure his gf would have the best time ever around him and perhaps his chinese ex xD good videos man, hooked up from the indonesian low budget gym to this, really fun
I'm a singaporen and I never knew they had an Internet Cafe there, the difference is some people have their own pc set up to game or doing their own work. some wont have one and probably they would go to the cafe there.
Nah man, if you have friends and want to get together to play, internet cafe is the option. Even if we have pc's at home, nothing beats the experience of playing together in one place.
"we wanted to play all night but we couldn't because turns out gaming is very tiring once you're not a teenager anymore" 😂 its true brother, that hit me hard actually, cannot believe how fast time flies now I am in my 30s.. the power of youth almost fade away day by day.. my year active going to gaming cafe in the past around early 2000s till 2010, my first online games was ASDF Hoverboard then MapleStory
18:14, damn this part so true. As a kid I could sit in front of a computer to melt my brain with video games for hours on end, I'd have a glass of water by morning and it's still somehow not half way down by evening! Now when I've got a stable income and my own rig, my gaming sessions don't go long unless I am super into it, usually an hour or two and boom I wanna take a break.
On the og xbox me and my brother at one point were number 1 and 2 in the world at unreal championship I think on deathmatch. The unreal series holds a special place in my heart.
wait Jimmy u have an amd 7900 xtx from what I remember when u did a pc building stream not too long ago its not nvidia but still current generation but hey still awesome to see more internet cafe videos from u!
when i was in college sometimes i sleep in int cafe when i play until night already late and im too sleepy to go home. the happy hours 23-7 was like 1-2 dollars lol.
Thank you Uncle Jimmy for sharing your experience of Singapore's internet cafe! I've been wanting to try going to an internet cafe in Singapore with my friends and hang out there for an experience but don't know how the experience is like and the price of it all so I thank you 🙇♀!
Wow your in Singapore. Welcome to Singapore. Make sure to try the local delicacies (Laksa, Chicken Rice, Chilli CRab, Nasi lemak etc.) before you go back. That Wanyoo cafe does serve some nice drinks like the Rose Lychee Soda is nice.
im singaporean and i never knew we had a 'famous' internet cafe... I think it caters to a niche minority in the country as most of us invest in gaming equipment in our own rooms at home.
That Korean Starcraft box cover was great though! Zerg was my favorite race. And the huge bilingual manual! I remember buying this game at the store for W35,000. The game was published/distributed in Korea by LG! What an exciting time for PC gaming.
Back in the days we call it lan shop... I didn't even know there's a I.cafe like this in Singapore. It does seems like this is a China I.Cafe chain and brought it to Singapore. It's crazy how much it cost per hour now, back in the day prices was like starting from 80cent per hour during certain times to $2SGD per hour.
whats crazy is where i live here in Malden, MA a local real estate agent, tried to open a Wanyoo franchise and i technically worked for this company it went belly up soon after it opened because thats when covid hit :(
From my experience a i9 on water with a solid overclock over a i5 gets far more frames in a lot of games. Even faster ram can score a extra 10 fps. Don't forget about response time throughout the system. You guys missed out on how bad Atari & DOS games were compared to RT goodness now days.
