In Midsouth he was practically a rookie . In WCCW he learned Von Erich work , low psychology street fight . In Midsouth he had to learn to work . By the time he got to Georgia he knew what he was doing . I loved bad ass Bundy as a babyface vs The Roadwarriors . Jake Roberts turned him face in a stroke of genius as booker for GCW . I never could figure out why it wasn’t ever done again … Stone Cold plus200 lbs is what we got .

All I know is to a young kid, circa 1984-85, King Kong Bundy was a terrifying wrestling heel.
He snuck in my closet, beat up the Closet Monster, gave him a splash, told him to get the Hell out of here because he was the new closet monster in town lol.

There are so many great wrestling personalities over the years that have been impersonated over and over again. Ernie Ladd, Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Jim Barnett, The Iron Sheik, Hulk Hogan, etc., etc., etc.

Bundy was a favorite of mine. I got into wrestling in 1985 as the WWF was pushing Bundy to be the unstoppable monster heel. I couldn’t accept him nor Himmy Hart as heels. You could just see that both were really cool dudes… then Heenan got a hold of Bundy and it all changed. Heenan could hide his good side and his wrestlers good side too.

Bundy just looked out of place in 1995 WWF. Everyone had gotten a lot more colorful in their look, and he was still dressed and wrestled like it was 1985. Plus he had gained weight and looked even more like a human potato, and seemed to have some kind of tic going on with his jaw. It's not a wonder he didn't last too long.

Ted doesn't seem to have much positive to say about Bundy as a wrestler. Kept dodging the question of what Bundy brought to the table.

But wait Bundy was a great amateur wrestler in nj the same as Bigelow in the late 70s,,he then with real brother (jeff Carson) fake name went too wwf as as jobbers, then went texas too fritz shaved head as Bundy then too watts, but back in the mid 90s Bundy lost a step and maybe 100 pounds much slower, etc, soon he went too the indy scene after he left Ted , had great run with Studd and Heenan but didn't last forever
