it was explained in the anime if normal vampires stop drinking blood then they become no different then humans but it was not as simple for the queen but we assume because of the healing spell shadow did it fixed that i guess

A crazy person will think they're sane, a sane person will think they're crazy. His whole psychological state could be resumed in "hyperfocused". He's deadset on achieving his fantasies, setting everything else aside, romance included. And that is the key point, it's not that he doesn't feel anything, is that he actively ignores it.
Author said if cid was to marry, alpha would be the most likely candidate. Tho im pretty sure I've heard that Cid just doesn't want to date a popular girl or an overachiever. So marie has the most chances if we base it on that
