@@MakeLifeClick Are there any e-readers, e-note devices that allow one to make an audio note? I.e., the device would have a microphone and then that is saved as an audio file and I can then export them?
Thanks for the info! My libra 2 is on route in the delivery van as I type. It'll be my first ereader! Tiny side note though.. Deutsch is german, not Dutch.
Sorry for the delay. You can’t do whole sections, only words on the device. You can search google for the whole section but not directly google translate either, only search.
Thanks for the video! Is there anyway to highlight across pages? I have a Kobo Clara and the only way I’ve found is to make the text smaller, highlight the whole line, then make the text a larger size. It’s kind of annoying! Thanks in advance for any advice!
mate that menu doesnt appear on my kobo libra 2. just the definition appears (when i hold a word) instead of the full menu with notes, search and highlight. do u know how to make it appear?
Sorry - Yanaris got that one sorted. Depending on the file format, it may not be possible. I believe I mention in it in one of my videos but certain PDF files that are 'flat' or 'rasterised' cannot have words selected. Not all PDFs but a lot of them.
Thanks for helping us with tips. I want to go back and reread a chapter and then return to current place. Dont want to do this chapter read in the small square that come up. Want to read in on on the normal page. Is this possible without clicking back page by page.? Thanks for any help here.
Does this work on the pdf that I would import from my computer? I noticed it works in the shop but cannot understand why I cannot look up definitions on words on my pdf. Need some help here
It often depends on how the PDF document has been formatted. If all of the text is still selectable as a layer in the PDF, then it should work. If the PDF is a flattened file and the text is no longer a separate layer, then ereaders will not be able to distinguish the text in them.
Bit late to this party. But just want to mention that there are websites that can modify PDFs to make them not 'flat'. Just search how to make a pdf searchable. Results may vary, but they always at least turn a certain percentage into text.
Hi,i am totally lost with my Kobo, it is all in foreign i think it is Spanish, i have managed to connect it to my router and get books up but that is as far as i can go with it, i arn't a wizz kid, i am 75 and this is so confusing for my old brain do you know how to get it to English at all please, many thanks.
Thanks. I definitely find the kobo easy enough to highlight with and annotate. The challenge with any eInk tablet is they can be a little slower to type in to do typing long annotations isn’t ideal - short are fine. The kobo Clara HD and Libra h20 are in this house along with a remarkable 2. So, I’d say the kobo is fine as is a kindle for punchy notes but a bigger screen model is really ideal to allow space to read and mark up. So larger is better. If you can spring for the kobo Elipsa you’ll get the best of all worlds.
@@MakeLifeClick I think I saw in your presentation a "play" button in the pop-up window of the dictionary (not faraway from the title). If I'm not wrong, headsets can be connected through Bluetooth. What do you think: Could I listen to the translated word by using the function: Text-to- Speech?
"Amazon will probably do a sterling job on bringing The Wheel of Time to life."
Thank you for giving an up close look at these features. I might pick one of these up for language learning.
You’re welcome. Glad it helped.

I wondered if anyone would pick that up! 🫣 I blame a lack of caffeine. 😬
Thanks for the info! Just one thing, Deutsch does not mean Dutch, Deutsch is German.
OMG! You’re so right and I knew that. A thoughtless comment in the moment. Thanks for pointing it out. 👍🏻
@@MakeLifeClick hahaha, no worries! The video was great nonetheless
Has kobo ever updated it to where you can export notes?
you arrow keys next to the space bar key.
Is it possible to translate not only one word but several phrases at the same time like we can do with Google translate...
Thank you

@@MakeLifeClick No problem. Thanks for the answer. Bad point for that as it was possible on my old Kindle...

Good vid deserves more views man keep the grind up
Thanks mate.
Is there an easy use app to export kobo hight lights into some notes taking app? thank you.
Unfortunately none that I know at this time.
Hi I'm a light novel reader and I'm choosing to buy a e-reader. Is buying light novel books on Kobo is a hassle?
Buying them from the kobo store isn’t difficult. Transferring existing books on is a little trickier.

I have exactly the same issue
Apparently it's not possible to highlight a text in a pdf doc

Have you tried bookmarking the page and then using that to return to where you were?

Hi Sheila - did you get this sorted? Let me know if not.
Does the kobo libra h20 work with adobe digital editions? I would like to be able to trnsfer my borrowbox e-book holds onto my kobo?
Yes it will!

What e-reader would you recommend for viewing academic journals for students? I value highlighting and annoting. No fancy not taking.
Great video btw.

thanks sir! would you know how to keep annotations from overdrive books? i returned my book yesterday and lost my annotations :/
Unfortunately, I also don’t believe there is a way to keep those :(
Is there a way to rate (stars or numbers) ebooks in the Libra2 reader?
I can’t see it anywhere.
Hi, Thanks for the video. Is there an option to hear the translated word in order to learn how to pronounce it?
I don't believe so. When you define a word the dictionary does show the option to play the word but there isn't an audio option on the Kobo Libra h20.
@@MakeLifeClick I think I saw in your presentation a "play" button in the pop-up window of the dictionary (not faraway from the title).

@@iftahma Have you found an answer to your question? I'm looking for an ebook that enables me to listen to the pronunciation on google for example...?
what is the Kobo aspect ratio?
I think it’s 4:3 possibly?
Does the dictionary work offline?
Yes. I’ve gone offline and the dictionary has continued to work. I believe it stores them on the device.
⚡⚡Sir, I wonder does it has text to speech option?
The Libra h20 does not have audio capabilities I’m afraid. It’s possible the more expensive models might.
would you happen to know how to reset the reading stats?
Hi. Sorry, I’ve looked everywhere but can’t find it. Best to raise a ticket with kobo support. Let us know how you go.
