In listening mode, how big/far is the coverage?

Is it difficult to get people to take one of the earbuds to talk back and forth?

I am an American married to a Thai woman and currently in Thailand. I had the W3 model sent from Amazon in United States to Thailand to help improve communication with my wife as well as with the locals. One of the first things I did with the W3 model was put at about eight inches away from my wife's mouth while she was talking to a friend on the telephone. The translation was utter gibberish. So bad in fact I had a hard time understanding what they were talking about. The translation was maybe on par with somebody after a stroke. Yeah, that bad. They claim 1/2 second delay between talk and translation but I would say it was more like 5 to 8 seconds. About 50% of the time it totally would not recognize what was being said at all or simply cut out. I was constantly fussing with the app trying to get it to work. I then had a one to one conversation with my wife, and about the only thing we got out of it was a good laugh. It totally butchered the translation. I have a few years under my belt of speaking Thai, and I'll be the first to admit I'm pretty rough. I can say that my translation was far better than the W3 was. After a few hours worth of testing I boxed it back up and sending it back to United States at my expense. Total piece of crap as far as I'm concerned. It's possible that the WT2 edge is just that much better, but people should be aware it's about three $350. I have reached out to time kettle but have yet to hear back from them. My understanding from the reviews on Amazon is they are not all that responsive to customer support. I've read some pretty horrible reviews about their $700 models. I guess if you're speaking extremely slow and you know zero of the target language this might seem amazing. As far as the 95% accuracy and one half of the second delay I would say it's total BS. I was getting maybe 20% accuracy and something like 5 to 8 seconds delay. When you start talking at a normal pace that's when you pretty much get gibberish. The translator just can't keep up. Again, maybe good for asking where is the toilet? that kind of thing. But for anything resembling a normal conversation I would say forget it. Just use Google translate or better yet take some language lessons.

The translation I was getting from these earbuds was complete gibberish. I would say about 10 to 15 percent accuracy and there was a huge lag. They talk about a half second lag and 95% accuracy and I have to say I have no idea how that's possible. I put this into listening mode while my wife was having a conversation with a friend on the phone and put my telephone right up to her mouth. I could not make any sense of what she was talking about!. We then tried a one on one with the ear buds and again it was complete gibberish. The only thing it was able to pick up was very simple sentences like Hello, how are you. Even when I ask it "what is your name" it made a mistake. As far as I'm concerned these things are absolute trash. Please don't waste your money.

Surely this is just stereo bluetooth earbuds with a phone app using the L and R channels separately ??? So the concept should work with any earbuds given a suitable app. I'm calling BS on them bundling their own "special" earbuds.

I just wasted 4 minutes expecting a solution. That's not helpful.

Very helpful review- I bought before watching - I just plugged in my PD400x in via XLR and vocaster 2 - my first observation is that EQ and voicing via PD400 is lost and muting etc is controlled via vocaster so you can’t leverage some of the capabilities you describe unless I am missing something and I am a complete novice so that is very likely- thanks for great overview 👍

now i use three sets of M3 headphones for these headphones i use two phones Galaxy m14 and Galaxy m15 on the same day at the same time there was a disconnection of the translation when closing the screen when opening the tap the translation occurs in normal mode But this is inconvenient because you can accidentally press the screen and it charges the battery faster this is a big problem I have long used different models of headphones of this company the main disadvantage of these headphones that they do not work sometimes when they are needed. I do not know if the administrator will miss my post but I now have a problem with headphones that I used a long time ago on the phone models Samsung 14 and 15 . When I close the screen, the translation is no longer displayed and there is no audio translation, which is very inconvenient I note that on Xiaomi there is no similar problem. But I do not want to buy a new phone to use only for this application !!!! I understand that I am not alone because I have a friend has the same problem but he does not use headphones but I took the phone and the situation is even the same.

Just to be clear, for just using the ear buds for simultaneous conversation when travelling to a foreign country, and where one person has one ear bud and the other has the other ear bud, will the M3 offline do the job? You said it has less processing power so does that mean it translates conversation slower? And to use offline, is this feature extra? Does it require you to purchase language packs as an extra?

Wonderful video! Please help me understand something. I have owned a simple Sony receiver a dozen years. All I do is stream music from my phone via a Bluetooth receiver into the receiver. Can I get rid of my large Sony receiver and replace it with this Fosi Audio BT30D and do the same thing? I have 3 speakers, which includes a powered sub. I take the speaker leads currently to my sub and then to the 2 additional Left/Right speakers. Thank you!

can't you just download an A.I translator app and use your existing earbuds or headset? I see lots of translator apps available, why buy an additional earpiece?
